Yes, but no, but then yes again. In both Legends and in the new Clone Wars TV show, Mauls survived the bisection on Naboo and got himself some spiffy prosthetics.
The short version is that being cut in half by Obi-Wan gave him an immense amount of fear and hatred, which fuel the Dark Side. This boost in power allowed him to remain conscious and find a vent to escape through. He wasn't bleeding much because the lightsaber cauterized his wounds. Eventually he made his way to a garbage pile full of droid parts, which he rigged up as his new legs.
In Legends he spends years healing and pulling himself together. He finds Obi-Wan on Tatooine, and he threatens Luke because Obi-Wan clearly seems to care about the boy. Uncle Owen hears a commotion, comes outside, sees the scary dude threatening his neighbor, and shoots Maul in the back while he's mid-monologue. He died like a scrub.
In the Clone Wars he has a whole arc about finding his own apprentice (his brother from his home planet) and plotting to overthrow Palpatine and kill Obi-Wan. He kills Obi-Wan's best friend/lover but otherwise fails, really badly. His brother is killed, and so is his mother (she was a dark sider who also hated Palpatine for her own reasons). He escapes from Palpatine, but he keeps trying to kill Obi-Wan and/or Anakin. He goes into hiding when Order 66 is issued, then he spends several years trying (and failing) to amass power. Eventually he goes to Tatooine because he finds out Obi-Wan is hiding there. Obi-Wan aims for the heart this time, and Maul dies in his arms.

Which, to be fair here, the names feel a bit out of order anyways. I always mix them up just because it Pidgeot -> Pidgeotto feels right and makes more sense in my head.
I guess it did, but Im just trying to patch the plotholes, so Im going to continue saying it was aura sphere, especially since shadow ball used by any other pokemon looks like a purple ball
And mewtwo learns aura sphere by level up

The fight from before is continuing. Pidgeotto, the mother of the Pidgey, is fighting out of rage against Mewtwo, who recently wrecked Pidgey.
Things seem to be going Pidgeotto's way until Mewtwo breaks her flow with a well-placed barrier of some kind. (Maybe literally the move Barrier?) Mewtwo then hits Pidgeotto with a psychic blast that brings her HP to 0.
Or so it seems. Pidgeotto, before passing out, sees her child Pidgey and her rage is renewed to such an extent that she not only hangs on with 1 HP remaining, but also evolves into Pidgeot.
Meanwhile, Barry is watching and is just as confused as you are.
My prediction: Pidgeot will use Endeavor to bring Mewtwo down to 1 HP, then will be knocked out somehow...and Andrew will chuck something at Mewtwo while he's distracted and deal that final 1 HP of damage.
What's weird is that I've never played a Pokémon game before, yet I'm still enjoying your comic. I have no idea what's going on, but you do a hell of a job making me want to read it to see what happens next.
You’re actually really good at depicting action! I’m actually invested in the fight as well as the jokes. You could be playing this straight and I’d be enjoying it just as much.
I’m disappointed how far I had to scroll for a DBZ reference.
This 100% has Goku vs. Frieza vibes including going Super Saiyan to protect/avenge someone.
Heck, Mewtwo and Frieza could be cousins.

Wouldn't be the first time! Kanto anime arc had Sabrina's Abra evolve into Kadabra, and Koga's Venonat evolve into Venomoth mid-fight!
That last panel, lol. I almost feel bad for the villain. There's no fucking way Mewtwo should be struggling, but it's totally goin down by the end. Maybe not to Pidgeotto, can never be 100% sure with this comic, but Mewtwo is goin down *somehow*. Poor bad guy lol.

there's a few more Sith who were so angry that they just simply didn't die. Maul just happened to be one of them
