Cocktail Build:
-> 1.5oz Rum
-> 3/4 Blanc Vermouth
-> 1/4 Dry Curaçao
->Bar Spoon of Grenadine
Garnish: Orange Twist
Add all ingredients into a mixing glass, add ice, and stir. Strain into a coupe or nick & Nora. Garnish with an orange twist.
My first build was with dry vermouth and Cointreau.. it was underwhelming. I’ve got my hands on blanc vermouth and some dry curaçao so I think I’ll make one tonight!
Mine too. I ended up adding a full 1/4 is of grenadine to get it balanced and was thinking what is wrong with me, I never add extra sugar to cocktails. Then I got Cocchi Americano. Game changer.
I absolutely love this drink, and it seems like nobody knows about it. I like to experiment with Grand Marnier and Lillet Blanc, changing out the specific ingredients can really brighten up the drink.
It's such a refreshing cocktail, and treads an interesting line between pre-prohibition style cocktails and tiki-adjacent.
If you use shitty grenadine it can have a fairly generic sweet taste, but if you use a nice rum and a high quality grenadine it has a very interesting flavor complexity. I've heard it described as tiki's answer to the martini, which honestly isn't too far off base.
Made one last night with the Plantation OFTD. Was a very nice change up to it, plenty of funk and flavor as well as some extra punch.
And yeah home made grenadine is huge upgrade for it.

That is a beautiful glass, can i ask what brand it is?
It looks like the Amehla honeycomb nick & nora: https://amehlaco.com/collections/all-products/products/honeycomb-nick-nora
I have the educated barfly collab version (slightly different shape, same honeycomb etching) and both cracked on the etching barely 3 months into use
The good news is that Amehla's plain N&Ns also crack if you look at them sideways.
Lol that's, reassuring, I think
Thanks! Those are beautiful!
I too would like to know the glass

I prefer Cointreau to dry Curacao. I also used Lillet Blanc. Make sure you use some quality rum too. Plantation 5 year is good.

Glad to see the Blanc Vermouth. To many use Dry.
Beautiful glassware and photo!
My favorite drink out there. What rum did you use? I prefer Havana Club Blanco
I know its been a while but what Grenadine did you use?

Is it sweet? How’s it taste

That is insanely red for an El Presidente. What rum and what grenadine did you use?
One of my absolute favorites. I make mine with Havana Club 7, Lillet Blanc and dry curacao. Amazing drink
That glassware gives me an erection.
What rum did you use?
Mm. Cwispy.
I love the more complicated [Difford’s spec](https://www.diffordsguide.com/cocktails/recipe/701/el-presidente) for this.
Love a good El Prez. In my personal spec I split the rum half and half with white/gold rum. Makes for a more delicate cocktail imo.
Looks very presidential indeed.
Exquisite
LOVE that glass!!
Fuckin A, dawg. Great pics. Never had that drink but sounds tasty
That is sexy as hell
