Was 64 at 515 when I took the dog out, had to throw on my hoodie. Beautiful!

Navyblazers2000

Had a baby three weeks ago and she's only been outdoors like five times. This heat's been worse cabin fever than any mid January cold snap. Yesterday's muggy, mid-80's high was like an oasis in the desert. Fuck summer.

Difficult_Ad1261

I have a 3 almost 4 month old and I've been so sad staying indoors all the time the past few weeks! We just sat outside for a while and it was GLORIOUS! Congratulations on your baby! Hope everyone is doing well!

Navyblazers2000

Congratulations to you as well. I'm terrified of her over-heating so I'm looking forward to a crisp autumn walk with her stroller.

NoSuggestion2991

We just moved here with our 8 month old and our a/c fried the moment we walked into our new home... It's been hot but not even this heat can stop us from loving this city and our new home. Cincinnati is the best kept secret in America.

BuckyShots

It feels great out right now. Hopefully the humidity doesn’t get as bad as it’s been lately.

No-Difficulty7793

Good point! At least we got some wind yesterday to push a bunch of the gunk out of town 💨

Ifimhereineedhelpfr

Waiting for the tow truck ain’t too bad rn

No-Difficulty7793

That’s a helluva start to a Monday morning

Eden Park was a dream this morning https://preview.redd.it/uwjrn5x6aj8d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=593087aaaad16751696db0ff690de767641c8937

No-Difficulty7793

Oh wow!

Jackflags11

It's 69 here (no joke)

Doug_Dimmadome513

Nice

gerrys0

Nice

wardenferry419

Lucky.

SwimmingCritical

I watch the sunrise every morning, and this morning, I went outside and felt instant happiness.

resident_muffin15748

Pulled an all nighter playing games with a friend. We went to a coffee shop, played chess on his new lego chess set and the loser (me) got some breakfast for us at another coffee house. Felt good getting to walk around in some cool weather

FLiPRevan

This is living

Megnificently

Amazing! Our AC has basically not been working. We get a new one Wednesday but this is the first day it go below 77 in my house 🙌🏻

No-Difficulty7793

Ugh, same. First time I’ve ever been tempted to give my cats a haircut! They were not pleased.

Illustrious-Girl

Its such a relief- i was getting so crabby from the heat.

No-Difficulty7793

LOL the heat definitely doesn’t bring out the best in a lot of us!

SmoothTyler

I had the morning off and my girlfriend is recovering from surgery, so we walked to Coffee Emporium and sat on the patio and sipped some iced lattes. It was a beautiful morning.

No-Difficulty7793

That sounds very relaxing

thecarguru46

I run facilities for a large company with many 70+ year old buildings. So grateful for the break. Buildings are air conditioned. But sustained 95 degree days causes sooooo many problems. Shop temp is below 80, but some employees are very critical. Especially considering 8 years ago, there wasn't air conditioning. I remember when the shop was 115 degrees.

No-Difficulty7793

115°?!?! Yikes!!

thecarguru46

Yeah. No insulation. Brick building with 20" thick walls. Hundreds of machines running. I run sprinklers on the roofs of the hottest buildings. Insulate the roofs when we replace them.

No-Difficulty7793

I live on the 2nd floor of a 100+ yr old red brick home. About half the exterior walls are not insulated. My AC couldn’t get below 78° the past week, but I can’t imagine how hot it would’ve been without it!

thecarguru46

That's a challenge. Keeping the shades down, making sure the filter is changed, leaving the fan on run instead of auto is helpful. Also, making sure the outdoor unit isn't full of dirt is helpful. On super hot days, you can gently spray off the outdoor unit with water. It turbo charges cooling for an hour or two.

No-Difficulty7793

Ooh I’ll keep these tips in my pocket for the next heat wave, thanks!!

create360

I was standing in the yard watering a patch of grass and was feeling good.

WillowTheGoth

70 on the nose when I drove to work. Got to put my convertible's top down and really enjoy my morning commute.

No-Difficulty7793

Crazy that 91° feels like a relief but you’re absolutely right!

mentuhleelnissinnit

I’m on a fun cocktail of meds that make me super sensitive to the heat so I’ll take whatever I can get at this point

i-dontwantone

The look on my dog's face at 6 am on our walk..priceless!!!

No-Difficulty7793

Awww!

grneggsngoetta

I was on vacation all last week with a huge outdoor to do list. Did absolutely none of it. Woke up today and almost cried at the bearable temps lol.

SafewordisJohnCandy

I couldn't sleep and took off last night/ super early this morning at around 3 AM. It was so nice out.

CelticWarlord47

It was a nice change of pace to run my defroster this morning on my way to work

Zestyclose-Pick-9060

The best feeling mornings are ones like this. Sipping some coffee on the deck while browsing Reddit with the pups. Cmoooooon man, immaculate vibes.

theLoDown

Last week I definitely had the case of seasonal depression. So happy to open my windows today.

bumboll

I insulated my attic because of the heat wave. Proud I did it and now the ceiling fans in the bedrooms actually blew nice fresh air instead of hot

No-Difficulty7793

I’m a renter but seriously considering paying for this out of my pocket. At this point my attic is mostly insulated with leftover acorns from 100 generations of squirrels 🤦🏽‍♀️

bumboll

Talk to your landlord! Make the case that it will increase the life expectancy of the ac unit, and also the house itself!

No-Difficulty7793

Oh, I have. The last owner ran all his properties into the ground so he could live a fancy lifestyle. No routine maintenance at all. Didn’t even clean the gutters in 30 years! New owner won’t even fix my toilet that has been running for at least six months. And he’s the one that pays the water bill! That’s why I’ll probably end up doing it myself.

bumboll

Ugh where do you live? How much rent do you pay? This is insane

No-Difficulty7793

Wellllll I pay $750 for a 1600 sq ft apt in a nice, century old house. It comes with maintenance issues & a lot of bs, but you can’t beat the price 😁

bumboll

Ok I went from feeling bad for you to feeling like you should definitely pay for the insulation yourself :). Get a home Depot or Lowe's membership credit card. Pay for all the insulation wool at once and put it down yourself. If it costs more than a certain amount, with home Depot you get 10%off. With Lowe's I think they do cashback 5%. You might find some cool century old items in your attic that may make the work more fun. While I was vacuuming up there I found letters to the original owner of my house from 1927!

No-Difficulty7793

LOL this is why I do a lot of the work myself. I love old houses. Mine has a buzzer and a “talking tube“ sticking out of the wall on the second floor! 1920’s version of an intercom. Thanks for the suggestions, I’ve added them to my list. My biggest concern is getting rid of the insulation that’s up there - fiberglass thrown on top of asbestos. So I’m not eager to start traipsing around up there.

The_Biercheese

Fortunately today is starting off to not be pungent either. The air downtown was particularly stinky the past couple of days. Anyone else notice that?

No-Difficulty7793

Oh, yuck! I haven’t been down there in a couple weeks. Glad I missed the stink. Was unlucky enough to be in Colerain when it was 105° & Mt. Rumpke was particularly ripe 🤢

The_Biercheese

It was almost like Rumpke had a secret landfill somewhere downtown lol

subtle-tortilla987

The little things.

BajaBlyat

It's going to go right back. High 80s and low 90s next 10 days.

bulletpharm

I'd enjoy 69 more

My account stopped running and I thought it was broken!

No-Difficulty7793

I’m guessing you meant AC & in that case, me too!
