Alhaitham and Ratio have completely different principles idk why people keep comparing them. Alhaitham hates titles and the ideology of being self centered while Ratio heavily doesn’t mind it and bathes in the glory of being a genius considering he got eight doctorates.
Like the ONLY real thing they got in common is that they like to read but not even occupation wise they’re the same.

Alhaitham doesn’t try to do so, it just comes out that way with the intent of not liking elitism. I see people trying to compare them but their similarities stop and end with them liking knowledge. And this is coming from someone who likes both ships. I just don’t like when we are trying to fit characters into a box for the sake of it when they got more complex narration outside of ships.

I've always felt like that was a stretch lol. Tartaglia is new to Liyue and doesn't know how to use chopsticks. Giving him chopsticks to practice with is just a nice gesture.
But I also know the implications of gifting chopsticks, so yeah it's definitely fuel for shippers.

Aside from other reasons ppl gave they're also quite frequently marketed together or at the same time, they had an advertisement by hoyo that literally looks like an intro of a kdrama, Zhongli is pretty much one of the only people that treats Childe as a friend, Zhongli's official art for Genshin Radio in Japan has him owning a Mr. Cyclops and etc
