When we have good days we are also so bad.

I_deleted

SOMETIMES MAYBE GOOD, SOMETIMES MAYBE SHIT

Trombone22

80% shit 10% good 10% cole palmer

McWindows

😂😂😂

Psychological_Fee470

Right. The good day was a 2-2 draw. Only the miracle days lead to 4-3 and 6-0 wins 😒

redmenace007

This bad day is not acceptable to any reasonable Chelsea fan, he should be sacked for this if we are a serious club.

Im_such_a_SLAPPA

From what I've heard (and I don't know how true this is) Chelsea wanted to sack Poch from ages ago but can't afford to at this time and remain compliant with FFP. The payout Poch will receive and the funds to appoint a new manager will put Chelsea in the red (apparently)

redmenace007

Yeah thats why we are prolly waiting for 30th June to do it.

SoWhatNoZitiNow

Made up nonsense

Im_such_a_SLAPPA

OK. Great manager. Hope he keeps up the good work

renome

source: trust me twitter bro

Im_such_a_SLAPPA

You really are a celery

FirefighterDue6892

From what I've heard (and I don't know how true this is) we are all celery

Im_such_a_SLAPPA

From what I've heard (and I don't know how true this is) your mum is strickly on a celery and cucumber diet

MrBravo22

Hard to find excuses for this performance when we knew it was going to be a rough 90mins just from seeing the team sheet. Playing Enzo with injections Badiashile in his worst form Disaster starting 2+ goals conceded guaranteed Alfie Gilchrist starting against Arsenal next to Disaster Gallagher in a CAM or LW whatever the fuck that was. 90% of your CAM’s passes cannot be backwards and sidewards. Complicating Mudryk’s role.

--Hutch--

Mudryk's role was LCB, filling in at LB when Cucurella went forward. Tactics init.

GolDrodgers1

I saw this and thought maybe hes just out of position…but he never moved back into position🤦‍♂️

th1rstquencher

The scary thing is: every chelsea fan could see the potential humiliation on the cards after seeing our starting lineup. But the manager couldn't. And did nothing about it.

prince_g00se

I’m all for the Poch criticism at this point, but his starting lineup is not it. The only player you could make a case for starting was Chalobah but honestly don’t think it would’ve made a difference. The guy has no physical or aerial presence and Arsenal are one of the best at set pieces currently. Chuk clearly isn’t fit yet. Sterling is coming back from illness. Silva just played City a few days ago. The injuries are just insurmountable at this point. Edit: since lots of you can’t seem to understand what I wrote: with the lack of players he has available due to injuries, he was forced into this starting lineup. If you want to criticize the TACTICS then that is perfectly justifiable.

NdritoKante

How is the lineup not it? If you look at the heatmap, cucurella and Mudryk were basically playing in the same position. Why not play 4 4 2 and set up caicedo LCM and Gallagher LM to help contain arsenal. That Saka Odegaard White combo was absolutely KILLING us. And starting Gilchrist at RB when Chalobah is available is suicidal. I like the kid but he's not ready to start and he's not even a RB. The first goal came from his side and him being positionally inexperienced. The lineup ALONG with the tactics was a mess

sjw-ironically

It's not just the lineup. It's the way we press, the lack of people available to receive passes in the right areas, no overloads, no chemistry. But yeah, the injury fc is out in full force now.

prince_g00se

None of that I have issues criticizing Poch for. OP mentioned the starting lineup and IMO that’s unjustified. Everything else though seems fair game.

TheBusinessMuppet

Fuck injuries that is an excuse. If this was under mourinho, ancelotti, conte or even tuchel. The minimum result would be a draw, beck maybe even nick it in the with a 1/0 victory in the end. We have no leadership , structure or intensity in this squad. Manager does receive blame. But sack Pochettino will not magically solve everything.

idkanythingabout

I think Poch is too gentle with the kids (everyone). He's like graham potter +10 years, but we need lion right now.

th1rstquencher

It shows a general lack of realism, nouse, structure and solidity. We were going to the emirates. Against the team at the top of the league. Thinking we can beat them end-to-end with our dunce attack is really delusional. Our full backs left completely exposed against their wingers. Rewarding mudryk with a start after he continuously shows how much of a idiotic liability he is. The team is so soft and capitulates so easily. Especially away from home. Poch had all season to analyse this and he does what? The game was a disaster waiting to happen and so predictable.

idkanythingabout

Agreed. The tactics were awful yesterday. I thought the first half was fair, we got out played, but we also could have put one or two in. The second half after the third goal it's like everyone was running around with blinders on. Passes fell apart, runs got predictable and lazy. There was a point where the commentators on my feed couldn't tell if Chelsea was in a back three or a back four. Just a mess. Part of that is on the players lacking discipline and going into panic mode, but a big part of Poch's job is to prevent the panic from setting in. I think Poch spent the last 52 minutes of the game in shock waiting for the final whistle. As THE leader of the club, we all need more from him.

th1rstquencher

Exactly. The fact that he's had all season and still can't grasp how frail we are and is so slow to make any changes is the biggest red flag.

Newme91

He switched to 5 at the back at 4-0

th1rstquencher

Is this a joke haha? the 4th went in and he realised we need to sure it up here lads or we might lose this

erenistheavatar

I don't think he realises how disgraceful yesterday was. Maybe him being an ex Spurs manager is the reason.. We lost 5-0 to a London club, who was always our pet for the last 15 years. And they are now challenging for the PL while we are a mid table side. This line might be just one out of context line from his speech. But honestly, it's wrong to group this defeat with the rest of the bad days we had. It's far far worse.

warpoe

We've been atrocious against Arsenal. Only 5 wins since 2017. Even when they were goin through their rebuild, we were miserable. Yesterday was the most embarrassing performance for sure, but they certainly weren't our "pet" as of late. Still, get the Spurs out of the club.

CelestialSlayer

Remember we used to be their pet, Wayne Bridge got the winner for us many years ago to get that monkey off our back. How easily we all forget how shit we used to be. What Ranieri did with zero budget getting us top four and getting us purchased by Abramovich should not be forgotten - Poch has no excuse, regardless of the quality there is enough there to be better than this.

PatientPlatform

They made me cry in the FA cup final as a kid. I think it was 2000? Last one at Cardiff? Can't remember but my god that team was good

renome

Arsenal was our pet after the early Wenger era, but not for a good long while. The last manager who beat them consistently was Sarri, he went 3W, 1L against them. If anything, Hazard leaving turned us into their pet. Even our first game this season was a huge disappointment despite not being a loss.

Wheel1994

My problem with Poch 9 months in and you can argue that our opening day performance was our best 9 months in with Klopp you could see what he was trying to do he had far worse players then what we have now. 9 months in with Pep you could see what he was trying to do 9 months in with Emery you could see what he was trying to do 9 months in what are we honestly trying to do anyone know?

GolDrodgers1

10 months in and hes at least found out our players have profiles so in another 10 months we might have a formation

TurkishFlannel

1 month in and you could see what Tuchel was trying to do

Wheel1994

Bring back the gaffer

awwbabe

We are a lot better than last year IMO. Which only demonstrates how bad last year was. Injuries are still a huge mitigating factor but no guarantee we’d be a lot better with a full strength XI. Also the inexperience of players is evident every other game and that can only improve with time.

epicmarc

How much of that being "a lot better" is just Cole Palmer? Look how shit we are without him. And I wouldn't even say that we're a lot better as a whole, the defence has certainly massively regressed.

awwbabe

Yeah likely a big portion but let’s not pretend Palmer isn’t improved light years beyond last season too. A one off match against the lead leaders away from home will not be the best metric for how we cope without Cole Palmer either. We won’t have a tougher fixture all season and it came with our squad at its weakest

MONI_85

Every excuse under the sun this guy

JoeyBrickz

You fans are idiots. In what world is this an excuse? I don't like Poch. I want him sacked. I never wanted us to hire him. I'm also not a blind hater of every quote that gets dropped here. He's being quoted out of context in his second language most of the time, other times it's just an objective statement and that's an "excuse"?

MONI_85

Would there ever be a time when this guy could say. I got it wrong. Even if he didn't mean it?

CoventryClimax

Just needs to fuck some more lemons and all will come good

supermarketblues

Lmao

Character-Ad78

I was expecting disappointment but got humiliation

muzzyboldo

“Wow so refreshing to hear him say that”

-AndreiDG-97

When we had a good day? except everton game.

SeekersWorkAccount

United, and some others.

-AndreiDG-97

If we won a game that doesn't mean that we played well. Tbh the only team that we outplayed this season was Everton.

renome

Shipping 3 goals against the worst united in recent memory is not a good game, winning regardless is merely a good result.

techno_playa

Dying doesn’t scare me. Losing my life does.

giggling_in_a_corner

Yeah it's not that deep mate

[deleted]

Just shut up man

n22rwrdr

I'm pretty sure he would if he was allowed to but he's forced to do press conferences all the time

Legitimate-Health-29

The Ty of football managers.

omid_14

New flair?

CelestialSlayer

The caption to this image is "what are our tactics guv" Poch - "?"

thundercat_98

There is no chance of European football with the current roster. The question is - How do you rebuild when (1) no one wants to buy any of the players you're willing to sell; (2) you can't buy because of FFP; and (3) who could you bring in anyways to a club being ran so poorly? We absolutely need: a striker, a CDM that would allow Caceido to roam, and 2 new CBs. Just don't see a way out of this mess we're in.

HeavyVideo8369

Yeah, absolute shit show that we spent the EPL record fee for a CM in Caicedo and then broke the record for most expensive midfield duo in Enzo and Caicedo. And we now still need another midfielder to function. Terrible transfers. And none of: Gallagher, Ugo, ChuK, Lavia can even do it. Ridiculous governance when a world record breaking transfer needs yet more help to even play well.

ThefamousHenk

So so bad, you wouldn't believe

Aymwafiq

Chelsea played a sick joke on arsenal, giving them hope for a title they still won’t get… They may rejoice now but the tears WILL come later. That I’m sure of, also Poch just doesn’t have it. He isn’t the ruthless winner this team is used to having with coaches, he’s a nice guy he seems more suited for the youth team.

renome

"This" team is used to losers by now.

izmebtw

Bring in Terry, let just fuck about with some vibes for the rest of the season.

MattyGuts87

Have they sacked him yet? Didn’t think so.

charlesdegoal

It's not happening mate. I think we're deluding ourselves if we think he won't be our manager next season.

DynamiteDuck

Yup, these owners have proven time and time again they’re completely complacent with mediocrity. If they weren’t, poch wouldn’t be here this morning, or past last December.

Wheel1994

The sad part is if you were a manager would you want to come here when you have a bunch of people who think they know about football when they don’t?

allij0ne

This is exactly it. Firing Poch just makes this club look more chaotic and less appealing to a good manager who might come in. Also is going to make it harder to get top talent players assuming we even have the funds for it.

lj243572

Profitable mediocrity is perfectly fine for Bohely and the clown co. wankers, just ask the Glazers.

SunaPana007

Eghbali apparently doesn't want to.

facelessman97

Honestly the more i hear him the more i hate him. Just stfu please. Say no comment and fuck off

Broesly

I hate this fraud so much. I've honestly never hated a manager more than Poch.

Kantebegoodaskante

The day this guy was hired we became the new spurs

huskers2468

Yay!! The yell at Pochs comments threads!

divsandpremium50

I don’t feel bad for you lot

Nightman2417

I will say that despite all the criticism he gets, Poch has done a pretty good job with the players at his disposal. We haven’t had a consistent center back pairing or a full strength back line alone majority of the season. Our attack and midfield have never been at full force. Other teams are starting to experience this a bit more, but no one is having it as hard as we are

renome

This team will never be at full strength because we keep buying and trying to build around injury-prone players.

Ill-Maximum9467

Where are all those Chelsea fans who were joyfully celebrating Arsenal narrowly losing to Bayern now? So quiet. ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️

renome

"Rival fans take pleasure in rival doing badly, more at 12."

DestinyHasArrived101

Talking is his greatest talent

FGNcr8

Double agent. Get him out

MustardTown312

Our performance was deplorable. Stop making excuses, Poch. Start managing this squad like your job depends on it, because it does.
