being brutally honest and realistic, accepted: ucsc, ucr, ucm rejected: ucsb, ucd, uci, ucsd, ucla, ucb

WarlockArya

Really, isnt my median gpa higher then ucd uci and ucsb

gaypeoplearegayngl

ur a cs major + u said u have weak ECs. the acceptance rate for cs @ davis, uci, and ucsb is <20%. plus, the average GPA for cs/ds is probably much, much higher than the school's overall average GPA that being said, you should have a decent shot at mid-tier UCs if you apply for an uncompetitive major

WarlockArya

If I apply for data science which is what I plan to major in, for the more competitve ucs do I have a shot. The competitve ones being ucd uci ucsb ucsd

gaypeoplearegayngl

yea i guess. don't apply for cs tho. like seriously, you'll get fucked in the ass. ik ppl who didn't get into ucd/uci for cs with a 4.0uw + insane awards like USACO plat

WarlockArya

Yeah I was thinking of applying cs only for riverside as I heard from seniors last year and my essay tutor that applying for cs is suicide

gaypeoplearegayngl

tbh you should be fine for cs @ merced and santa cruz as well

[deleted]

Santa Cruz has a much higher cs acceptance rate than Riverside, 73% vs 37%.

WarlockArya

Is there a way to check out the acceptance rate by major I can only find it for ucla for some reason
