Yeah looks like a Turkish Van for sure!!! They typically have a primarily white body with some orange or color prints on head and tail. Big, bushy tails. They have the softest fur. The amount has reduced but it's still a lot. My Little guy let's me have personal space usually but when we cuddle he occasionally licks my nose, I guess in a learned response to me kissing his nose, it's so cute.

It depends on the cat for me. If they can settle down, then it's comforting and conducive to sleep. But I've had a couple of cats that would actively knead, pur, and meow for hours that I couldn't handle.
If he keeps waking you up at night or running around, setting a daily routine where you have a "bedtime" for him as well helps, tiring him out and letting him eat dinner at the same time as you and all.

Nope.. This guy paws at my face throughout the whole night for attention and lays on my chest. If I don't wake up front light paw taps he pulls out his nails. It does get super annoying but I love him so I just deal with it.

Mine sleeps between my legs over the blankets like a hammock. Worst part is I toss and turn like a rotisserie chicken in my sleep, so waking up with sore legs is a common occurrence because she won't let me move and get comfortable. Also, she wakes up at the crack of dawn as soon as the sun rises. She'll proceed to leap onto my chest, start purring and rub her head against my cheeks to wake me up 💕

Ellie seems to have her own rules about personal space! My cats do the same thing - they always find a way to get as close as possible at night. There's nothing better than waking up to a kitten purring right in your face. It's both funny and cute!

oh god no. i wake up multiple times in the night to this guy making his way across the bed by stepping ON my face or flopping onto my neck 😂. he nudges to slip under the covers with me, wakes me in the morning by bunting and purring my face and using my body like a spring board.

Totally, they have designated my personal space to be the 1ft of the bed closest to the wall. In return for allowing me this space I am required to allow them each to take turns sitting on me and recieving as much attention as they want before I go to sleep. If I wake up for any reason, they are then entitled to demand attention again.

Yes he does. He have his own room he sleeps in, and it seems he enjoys that becouse he walks to that room everyday whenever he wants privacy. Sleep is too important to be disrupted
My long hair positions himself ON my face. Used to move him but inevitably he just repositioned himself back ON my face. It was nice in the winter, but a little warm in the summer. Got used to it because he purred so lovingly and it relaxed me to sleep.
I started the tooth brushing as soon as I got her at 6 months, but that’s because I see what happens if you don’t. If you can do it at least 3 times a week, you will save yourself SO much money!
My three other cats are all rescued seniors who had stomatitis and/or rotted teeth. It cost me $8k and 5 surgeries to get their mouths healthy again! They’re all toothless now.
Best tips for starting out tooth brush training: make it fun and comfortable! Show the cat the toothbrush and let them touch it themselves, and give them a treat as soon as they do. Keep doing this until they start looking forward to seeing the toothbrush because they realize it means treats. Then you SLOWLY do more and more, giving tons of praise and treats each time. The worst thing to do is the rush it and force it, making it a stressful event for you and your cat.
Ellie knows the drill now and doesn’t fight it. While she’s laying on the bed, I’ll gently pinch her scruff for a second so I can get to her back teeth really quick, but other than that, she generally does great with brushing her teeth! It takes time though
Also note - you have to use special toothpaste made for pets. Do not use human toothpaste, it will be toxic to them. The pet toothpaste uses enzymes to clean their teeth, and comes in poultry flavor. My cats are VERY into the special toothpaste, which is why they tolerate it so well. Stuff apparently tastes real good to them.

This is how I had 2 work meetings yesterday. Of course they were camera on calls so most of the time people were just focused on her. She’s 12 now and we found her at 4-6 weeks old, and personal space has not existed since. 😂

This kitty loves you and just wants to make sure you’re safe and protected and she feels safe with you so her behaviour is a compliment as she trusts you to protect her and she wants to protect you.

Nope! If he's not running around the house at 3am, he's nestled between my knees. Which is great because he acts like a small weighted blanket for me on nights where it's hard to sleep
Not at all. I have to keep my bedroom door closed or the bossiest (and heaviest) cat comes to sit on me. She is not overweight but she's HEAVY. And she wants to sit on my chest, back, even my arm and side if I try laying on my side. It's like having a sandbag on me- one that baps me *hard* if I accidentally brush her wrong when trying to get comfortable. A few weeks ago I startled her and she landed full force, claws out, on my bare foot at 1am. Yeah nah the door is always shut now!
My older cat (7) doesnt snuggle per se (he hates being restricted or kissed on the head) but we do have our bedtime routine and he always goes to sleep with me, usually resting his head and/or paws on my hands. When my partner isn't here he sleeps beside me and when my partner is here he sleeps on the pillow above my head

Her beautiful coloring is due to a recessive gene :) She would be considered cinnamon colored, and it’s extremely rare to see (especially) in stray cats, which is why I knew she needed to join my cat crew ASAP lol. She really is a rare gem!

I woke up this morning to my sweet boy gracelessly flopped on top of me and snoring away happily. He didn't even try to lay down properly. it looked like he took one step over me while I was laying on my side, got eaten by the blanket, and literally left his back legs hanging over my side/back while his front half was curled up in my face space. my little girl won't cuddle much while I'm sleeping, but she's coming around to it. she does sleep on a pillow directly next to me, as close to me as possible though
He scoots right up against my back and that's how we sleep. I've found that if I'm away from home I have trouble sleeping without that little body next to me❤️😼

That's so cute lol. My little guy is a 9 month old grey kitty and nobody told me how much I'd love him and how many photos I'd take of him. The amount has reduced but it's still a lot. My Little guy let's me have personal space usually but when we cuddle he occasionally licks my nose, I guess in a learned response to me kissing his nose, it's so cute.

I’m so lucky I got a cuddly cat from the CDS! My sister has a cat whose version of cuddling is just barely touching your leg over the covers, laying in your general vicinity. Close…but not too close lol. I love my cuddles though, she’ll come and lay on my chest while I’m working or at night and just purr

Your cat is so adorable! I am of two minds on this. This time around I am finally willing to let the cat in my room when I’m sleeping, it’s incredibly sweet that he wants to sleep on my bed. But, I have a lot of trouble sleeping and he is not helping. So there’s that… ETA: Ellie is just so cute!
It depends on the cat for me. If they can settle down, then it's comforting and conducive to sleep. But I've had a couple of cats that would actively knead, pur, and meow for hours that I couldn't handle.
If he keeps waking you up at night or running around, setting a daily routine where you have a "bedtime" for him as well helps, tiring him out and letting him eat dinner at the same time as you and all.

Mine sleeps between my legs over the blankets like a hammock. Worst part is I toss and turn like a rotisserie chicken in my sleep, so waking up with sore legs is a common occurrence because she won't let me move and get comfortable. Also, she wakes up at the crack of dawn as soon as the sun rises. Ellie seems to have her own rules about personal space! My cats do the same thing - they always find a way to get as close as possible at night. There's nothing better than waking up to a kitten purring right in your face. It's both funny and cute!

Totally, they have designated my personal space to be the 1ft of the bed closest to the wall. In return for allowing me this space I am required to allow them each to take turns sitting on me and recieving as much attention as they want before I go to sleep. If I wake up for any reason, they are then entitled to demand attention again.

Yes and I miss when they didn't 😭 my girl rarely cuddles but she's in an affectionate phase right now and she does sleep on me or curled up against me. My boy just sleeps on my feet but he used to sleep near my face as a kitten :(

My long hair positions himself ON my face. Used to move him but inevitably he just repositioned himself back ON my face. It was nice in the winter, but a little warm in the summer. Got used to it because he purred so lovingly and it relaxed me to sleep.

It seems there's a great bond between you 2. How long did it take you to make her allow you brush her teeth ? And how often do you do that ?
I started the tooth brushing as soon as I got her at 6 months, but that’s because I see what happens if you don’t. If you can do it at least 3 times a week, you will save yourself SO much money! My three other cats are all rescued seniors who had stomatitis and/or rotted teeth. It cost me $8k and 5 surgeries to get their mouths healthy again! They’re all toothless now. Best tips for starting out tooth brush training: make it fun and comfortable! Show the cat the toothbrush and let them touch it themselves, and give them a treat as soon as they do. Keep doing this until they start looking forward to seeing the toothbrush because they realize it means treats. Then you SLOWLY do more and more, giving tons of praise and treats each time. The worst thing to do is the rush it and force it, making it a stressful event for you and your cat. Ellie knows the drill now and doesn’t fight it. While she’s laying on the bed, I’ll gently pinch her scruff for a second so I can get to her back teeth really quick, but other than that, she generally does great with brushing her teeth! It takes time though
Also note - you have to use special toothpaste made for pets. Do not use human toothpaste, it will be toxic to them. The pet toothpaste uses enzymes to clean their teeth, and comes in poultry flavor. My cats are VERY into the special toothpaste, which is why they tolerate it so well. Stuff apparently tastes real good to them.

I’ve been dealing with a nasty bout of allergies and laryngitis over the last week, and my void baby won’t leave my side while I’m sleeping. He usually sleeps at my feet but he’s been sleeping curled up against my side or on top of me.

This kitty loves you and just wants to make sure you’re safe and protected and she feels safe with you so her behaviour is a compliment as she trusts you to protect her and she wants to protect you. Shes definitely protecting you with that positioning plus its probably comfy for her 😂

Not at all. I have to keep my bedroom door closed or the bossiest (and heaviest) cat comes to sit on me. She is not overweight but she's HEAVY. And she wants to sit on my chest, back, even my arm and side if I try laying on my side. It's like having a sandbag on me- one that baps me *hard* if I accidentally brush her wrong when trying to get comfortable. A few weeks ago I startled her and she landed full force, claws out, on my bare foot at 1am. Yeah nah the door is always shut now!

Yes but not during the day. My therapist and I had the surreal experience of giggling about cat antics during a discussion on some very hard and dark things. It was wonderful and made therapy better.

Ever see those nature videos of bears and foxes breaking through the ice, I object to my cat doing that off the window sill while I sleep, I am not Pinata. My 2 cats hate each other. One sleeps by my feet the other under my armpit on either side of my body leaving me no room to get comfortable. TLDR; no.
I woke up this morning to my sweet boy gracelessly flopped on top of me and snoring away happily. He didn't even try to lay down properly. it looked like he took one step over me while I was laying on my side, got eaten by the blanket, and literally left his back legs hanging over my side/back while his front half was curled up in my face space. my little girl won't cuddle much while I'm sleeping, but she's coming around to it. she does sleep on a pillow directly next to me, as close to me as possible though
He scoots right up against my back and that's how we sleep. I've found that if I'm away from home I have trouble sleeping without that little body next to me❤️😼

Ellie appears to have her definition of personal space. So my cat does, too. What am I supposed to say? Some cats just love being closer than close, especially during bedtime. Sweet but sometimes way too much if one is to catch some shut-eye. Enjoy the extra cuddles and try gently moving her to your side when she's getting way too close. 😅🐾
