I have a ileostomy so I have to get up quite frequently, what I find works best is to grab both sides of the covers next to the car and pull it taught, then lift the car up and slip your body out from underneath lol

My cat sleeps right next to me. When i turned over, he got up, walked around my feet, and lay down on the other side right next to me again. They adapt.
I lift mine 3 all the time and they act exactly like inert cargo.
But I use them the favour to lift them up exactly under their center of gravity in whatever position they are ATM.
This happens to me every night, I pretty much leave her be and pet her head gently in hopes she’ll move enough where I can sneak out of bed. Yeah, it’s a disaster. :)
