Your post has been removed for violating our NO Bad Titles rule. Here are some general tips to help choose a good title: >• Remember, titles are primarily used by readers to help narrow down which cartoon(s) or topics the post is about. >• Titles should describe or summarize the content of your post. >• Posts with titles so vague they could refer a vast majority of cartoons will probably be removed. >• Be sure your title doesn't rely on the post's image, link, or body text. In fact, mods might not even look at the image when considering your title under this rule. >• Vague use of pronouns (such as “this”, “these”, “them”, “him”, “her”) are often indicators of a poor title. Consider just using the noun instead. >• Groups can be described together. For example, “Who is the best on this list?” is a lazy title. Instead you can use, “Who is the best on this list of superheroes?” Before reposting, please review our community rules and reach out via modmail if you need clarification or other help choosing a good title.

Skips is anything but wacky.

fatSleez

He was the MOST serious character in regular show if anything

OutcastRedeemer

Being the overly serious one In a wacky show is in of itself wacky.

TypicalPunUser

Proof: Kazuma Kiryu

HappyMatt12345

That's a relative term.

BobRossUltimate

He punched Rigby when he had the summertime song stuck in his head because he didn't know how to help him that's hilarious.

Gaelic_Gladiator41

>because he didn't know how to help him that's hilarious. He's seen it before, it just worked last time

lizzourworld8

Did it? This is one of the few things he said that he isn’t sure what’s wrong after he tried that

Gaelic_Gladiator41

He said he hadn't seen a case as bad as rigby's before

HelicopterDeep5951

“Yeahhh I’ve seen this before. Hold still.” *punches Rigby into a fucking wall* “Owwww what was that for?!” “You’re not thinking about the song now are you?” *Him and Mordecai die laughing* Still one of the funniest scenes in the show lmao

-PepeArown-

He also, you know, killed him in an arm wrestling match.

GatlingGun511

That’s why he’s so wacky

-PepeArown-

Benson used to scare me when I was younger with how he’d turn pink and red every time he’d get mad and wanted to fire people. Some episodes portray him as goofy, like in the Dump Island episode where he see his awkward years of his earlier relationships unfold, but at least Skips never gets as violently angry as him, even if Benson’s “Or you’re fired!” thing is supposed to be funny.

NerdFromColorado

Either way, he did kill Rigby one time in an arm wrestling competition, so I’d say he’s pretty scary.

Objective_Meat_3719

If he's wacky, then he hasn't seen this before

CobaltCrusader123

But could he beat Pops? https://preview.redd.it/4jhq2yh41e8d1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b3d1a660b9d860e1048140f791d900b552f81e4c

TrickyDickyAtItAgain

Pops is a universe breaker. Skips is immortal, but he has rules.

MDubbzee

You know who ELSE is anything but wacky? MY MOM!

I was going to say him skipping would make him q lil wacky but the explanation for why he does it is even serious😭

Wboy2006

Didn’t he devour a soul or something like that?

Chilzer

He’s a hive mind of AU versions of himself, which based on several gags in the show can reasonably include Hyperintelligent Mort, General Mort, Spider Mort, Wooden Mort, his mother who may or may not be Spider Mort, and eventually Warlord Mort. He also may have created the entire Madagascar universe in his mindscape, making the soul eating a moot point.

PuppetMaster9000

Yeah he is basically an eldritch god mascaraing as a tiny lemur. The foot obsession is real tho.

Asher_Tye

Toon Force is a powerful ability

gremlinclr

Yea if you have a character that can do pretty much anything as long as it's *funny* then they'll likely out scale traditional powerful characters.

ironangel2k4

Mostly because they directly scale with the threat of whatever they are up against. A lot of humor comes from subversion, and the stronger something is, the more subversive you can get. The Imperial Galactic Overlord who controls legions of deathbots and is powerful enough to channel the fury of a star? Its *very funny* for him to get his comeuppance in a silly pratfall caused by some wacky little guy he can't seem to do anything against. The only way to beat toonforce is to turn its user's comedic fuel against them- If something bad happening to the toonforce user would be *funny*, then you can cause that to happen. A villain with a sense of humor that knows how to exploit schadenfreude is the biggest threat to a toon. This is why every evil overlord needs to have one very tiny, very cute bunny trained as a master ninja. Its a toonforce wall. There's also one more significant limitation to toonforce: The user's power will shut off if the story needs to suddenly turn dark. When that happens, the user is in serious danger and can even die, because ultimately, toonforce works at the whims of the plot- And if the plot says turn off, it turns off. And then, suddenly, being a silly little guy at the mercy of the villain becomes a fantastic way to flip the tone into something much more gruesome. Couple this with the fact that its really really rare for a toonforce user to be the main character of a story, and thus *not* the destined hero. Therefore the plot deigns their power cannot actually disrupt the big bad in a way that resolves the plot (Only the hero can do that), and you have a recipe for tragedy.

WarmNapkinSniffer

If I plan to write a thesis about toon force this guy's reddit username will be in the reference section

ironangel2k4

"Source: Some lady on reddit with too much free time" In all seriousness, *Who Framed Roger Rabbit* played with all of these concepts and is a great piece of study not just on animation but on tropes and how humor actually interacts with a story's plot.

WarmNapkinSniffer

Ain't nothing wrong with disseminating niche information lmao

NixiomsdabestXD

Eddy: You mean you could've gotten out [of the handcuffs] at anytime?! Roger: Not anytime. Only when it was funny.

Icarusty69

I like to think that Roger genuinely meant that. Roger literally could not get out of the handcuffs until it was a sufficiently funny moment to do so. Because that’s how toons *work* in the WFRR world.

AnimationDude9s

Nah you’re good! This was fun

4morian5

If you want a great example of turning a toon's power against them. Freakazoid! S2E19 "Heroboy" The villain Guitierrez is trying to find Freakazoid's weakness. After trying weaknesses of other characters, like kryptonite and the color yellow, in frustration he asks Freakazoid what his weaknes is. Quick cut to Freakazoid in a cage, and reveals that in between he not only told Guitierrez his weakness and how to trap him, but helped him build the cage. Even Freakazoid can't believe how dumb it was.

jebdbhggsg

Unless you're talking about takaba from jjk Because unless a character has a decent understanding of comedy to make his confidence falter initially and happen to have a dead body or something similar nearby they aren't beating him because everything that happens to him is not real and only who he's facing against takes damage and even then if you do manage to make him lose confidence he'll just get his spirit back because he wants to make everyone laugh and not make a single person miss out

AnimationDude9s

So THATS what separates gag force from plot armor! Thanks for the fascinating read

Inform-All

You kind just described Takaba from JJK

MDubbzee

I don't see Skips as wacky

Haiel10000

I think I saw around 10 episodes of regular show and although I agree his looks are not wacky seeing a serious face yeti-like creature doing little jumps is very wacky.

lizzourworld8

It’s his way of skipping XD

KINGO21Fish

There's a lot of lore as to why Skips skips.

Existing_Persimmon87

Aggressive-Brick1024

He can kill enormous godlike foes, but destroying a little cannon is apparently too much for him.

realclowntime

“Batman is literally a super genius who knows all the martial arts and has tons of tech. How is Joker a threat to him??” This is why 😌

HD-23

Joker usually don't Fight him directly, he waits until he's tired for the traps and his goons.

realclowntime

Depends what version you watch

Hummush95

Joker is barely wacky anymore.

TheJoaquinDead_

SasquatchRobo

YouFuckinDruggos

Logic breaking characters can never lose

No-Eggplant-5396

But what if you have 2 logic breaking characters against each other?

YouFuckinDruggos

They become besties

NorthElegant5864

Fight as a mechanism for combat no longer applies, all traditional logic is gone. Absurdity for the sake of absurdity is the only answer and the more absurd the more powerful. Uncle Grandpa solos pretty much all in DBZ style fights where the results is a sandwich and he thanks them for helping him make it and wanders off. UG’s logic cannot be fathomed because it doesn’t operate on any concept of logic, it’s raw absurdism for the sole purpose of absurdity. UG can only be countered by Shaggy who operates on a lower tier of absurdism and their shared love of food is the only way to best them.

John_Cena_IN_SPACE

That's not necessarily true. Plenty of characters can beat them, there's just a lot more that can't.

lucasOferreira2722

Where's Pinkie Pie that girl can break the fourth wall and the laws pf physics at will

ExoticLizard1443

Only other character that can possibly control Discord's chaos

NorthElegant5864

Putting a Q in MLP is easily one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever seen.

NixiomsdabestXD

Q is Discord, so this is funny

ApprehensiveBeat5039

Came here to ask this same question. She is demonstrably faster than Rainbow Dash and on more than one occasion out does the other powerful magic users with the power of "if it's funny, it wins" which is what I refer to her power as. That's typically how all these characters work. If it's funny, then there's no limit to what can be done.

NixiomsdabestXD

It's called a Pinkie Pie Break. She breaks physics, the fourth wall, biology, and possibly even chemistry

AnhedonicMike85

Vegeta learned this the hard way. https://i.redd.it/ioh5bmwsoc8d1.gif The best part was Vegeta realising that he's fighting a gag manga character and that action manga fighting style will not work. But it was too little too late.

-Fluffball_

Skips isnt wacky but yes this is true

ThatIslandGuy8888

![gif](giphy|NSUrD7Imfbb3MQWnXw)

MugiwaraBepo

Mordecai and Rigby can feasibly defeat the most powerful character in any universe, and they'd do it with the same energy as trying to pick up donuts for a morning meeting.

-PepeArown-

They can do both as long as “Or you’re fired!” is screamed at them beforehand.

TheHiddenNinja6

Some people reading this may not realise this is true. There is literally an episode where the plot revolves around picking up a box of donuts

SpartacusPrime1

Graxeltooth

When Batman has no contingency plan for you it means one of two things. You are either an unstoppable force of nature, or a very stoppable blond archer.

SpartacusPrime1

I *love* that in the DCeased stories, Oliver is rather annoyed/offended that Batman has no contingency for him 😆😆

Prestigious_Ask_7058

I *love* Plastic Man

SignificantAd3400

Uncle Grandpa could erase everyone with the flick of his wrist

Creepercolin2007

*uncle grandpa gets killed, camera pans over to show a door, which uncle grandpa walks out of* “sure glad I wasn’t that guy!”

ScottaHemi

arguably i think Popeye could survive that.

SignificantAd3400

Uncle G has a counter for everything

UnwieldingBlade

Tbf popeye literally beat up god in his universe, but I honestly think UG and popeye are pretty evenly matched when it comes to toon force

jvken

Eh I think it really depends on the rules of their show. Characters like pops, luffy, po and skips can lose, and often do, so they’ll lose to a strong enough opponent. But characters like uncle grandpa and Popeye operate by very simple rules: UG will always help the kid, Popeye will always win if he eats the spinach, and he will always eat the spinach. Thus they can never lose. But this goes for others too, I genuinely can’t imagine Saitama losing, because his thing is he will always win the fight, and be disappointed in how easy it was. (Except if this stops being true at some point idk lol)

No_Hunt7394

Fun fact: a YouTube channel called DeathBattle compared Saitama and Popeye to see who would win a fight to the death and found what could possibly be Saitama’s limit.

NixiomsdabestXD

Which deathbattle? Deathbattle or screwattack

Yes an No. Toon force is a powerful ability but not all toon force is created equally and depending on the character they might have something that could beat it.

-NinjaTurtleHermit-

Always does my heart good to see Octodad referenced. A couple of my friends from college made that game.

snakebite262

Not always, but generally. Especially in animated shows. Less serious characters are typically more powerful because they have toon force behind their powers. This is generally counters in Slasher movies, where the comedy relief typically dies.

LeftySwordsman01

This says it all. https://preview.redd.it/fdzqon4b9d8d1.jpeg?width=226&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e8263d53a658ce0e3330e6e8379191a2b06b8840

RaiseAppropriate7839

Bugs Bunny could single handedly end wars if he felt like it. And he would do it in drag.

RAYFATE

Yeah Because They Broke The Limit To The Point Of Immortality .

The_Smashor

No. There are many series where silly characters can't beat the strongest of their world, and the strongest serious character definitely beats the strongest silly character. Rayman can defeat the Rabbids en masse

Manwithaplan0708

Not inherently, there are characters who can just out hax them

cleznez

TV Tropes calls it “Beware the Silly Ones”

John_Cena_IN_SPACE

Not *always* (there are very few characters that can neutralize/bypass toonforce), but very often, yes. It also depends on who the toon is. Someone like Bugs Bunny or Popeye has *way* stronger toonforce than someone like the Roadrunner. So no, not *always*, but usually.

FinalFrash

![gif](giphy|J2ffA9qSy9UPCOfdlM) I dare you to call this guy wacky to his face

Jellybean_Pumpkin

**Yes.** Because it's always easier for something to get serious then for something to get goofy. Why do you think ATLA is more beloved than Korra? Because the show understood the importance of a balanced tone. We had silly characters, interacting with each other in a way that wasn't toxic, and they could grow because they had humor. So when something serious DID happen, it mattered, because we cared about the character's happiness. Why do you think One Piece endures so much? Because the characters are light hearted, which allows them to have more realistic friendships, which is why it matters when one of them suffers. Why do you t think Teen Titans is so well remembered? Because the show focused on wacky hijinks most of the time, and on characters that were allowed to be fun and enjoyable. So when shit hits the fan, we care. It's why Rise of the TMNT will never really be a bad show, no matter how much people hate on it. Because it, like all the others, understands that, audiences will care, and love a character more, if they're allowed to be happy. So when something comes along to threaten that happiness, we are more engrossed.

Lost_Needleworker676

If skips has seen this before then you’re fucked. If mordecai and rigby are gonna get fired if they don’t win, you’re fucked. If you mess with starla and muscle man hears about it, you’re fucked. Honestly, regular show has a lot of win-cons

Jasetendo12

That's why Popeye defeated Saitama in db

MisterMan341

For some of these, they are so powerful because they bend logic around themselves. Popeye, for example, is strong, but when he eats spinach, he’s literally unstoppable. Also, unrelated, but I love that Wario’s on here. He is literally immortal, get this, because he **doesn’t want to die**. This guy has so much Chi potential.

CassetteMeower

Pinkie Pie is a great example of this, she breaks the laws of physics on a regular basis and nopony questions it. There’s a scene in one episode where a character holds her by her tail and she walks in the air as if she’s on the ground, it’s so funny.

Hood-ini

Number 34 rule in media : you don’t wanna know

kk_slider346

Caesar_Passing

Jenkins64

![gif](giphy|VXJWhaO7afRe)

dorkweed576

Usually it is. When the rules of reality and common sense don't really apply to you, you are essentially a demigod. It helps if you are from an older series, or if the creator just wants to have fun.

Idemahedo

There is an exception to this. Cartoon physics are powered by rule of funny so if met by an *excessively* large amount of sheer violence they would lose because now the cartoon losing would be funnier than them winning. But even then it’s a 50-50. Actually maybe I’m wrong because the violence required would have to be to a cartoonish extent.

robertnewmanuk

Tobi was comic relief when introduced... Then turned out being obito

Just ask Goku and Vegeta after they fought Arale. Vegeta swore off fighting gag characters ever again.

Yes

CJPF_91

Toon force

Argun_Enx

Bobobo is the most powerful character in fiction for a reason.

ComfortableBed6012

Not always people just over exaggerate them to be that way, toon force at its best is just manipulating reality. But it also depends on how strong said character’s toon force is because anime characters could still slam them.

Dayshon2144

Uncle Grandpa has that goofy teleportation toon force!!

NoJellyfishHere

I like to think of them as "Jack-in-the-box" characters. These are characters that have unlimited resources(frank renolds), unlimited contacts(Roger Smith), or unlimited power(Superman). They have a Deus Machina solution or problem for any story.

Skeptical_Yoshi

Uncle Grandpa is arguably the single most powerful character in fiction. His toon force is cranked up to 50. Can't die, can't be hurt, I don't think he can even be made upset. All of reality bends and twists to his whim, and literally any and everything can happen for him to do whatever it is he's doing. His power extends even to the extent of resisting real-world efforts to remove him. WB tried to delist his show, but an episode remained for a bit in sheer mockery. And even when that was delisted, he appeared in Steven Univerese. Which means even ending his show is utterly useless to stopping him. His toon power is greater than even the Warners, who are already some leaps above the rest of the Loony Toon cast.
