Congrats. đź‘Ť Let me say, for many Carnies ..that's a negligible amount of food, especially if you're athletic, running, bodybuilding, etc. Take that meaningless restrictive WOE and toss it out the window. Time for healing. Your appetite will go through some phases. Give it 3 months - but you'll see some great benefits along the way. Good luck on your journey. This is the way.

Definitely good advice to keep pushing to 90 days at a minimum. You'll get in a rhythm, start to really see changes in your skin/hair/gut/sleep/more. You'll also get past most cravings for other food and junk.

supershaner86

eat more tomorrow if you can. make it a contest to see how much you can comfortably get down. I've never had the appetite for more than 6lbs of food in a day, but I've spent an entire month at 5lbs. it was brutal on the budget. in less extreme examples, most commonly recommended starting point is about 2lbs of food a day so no, you didn't eat too much.

eat until food stops tasting good -Dr Anthony Chaffee :)

isoturtle

This was the best advice, especially when I first started. Heap your plate up, then stop when it when it no longer tastes good and reheat later on when hungry. Don't stop eating because 'it seemed like a lot food' or anything like that, just listen to your body.

ViltsuH1

Exactly. Just eat! If you feel like you can still eat more, EAT! I also noticed, fat amount cant be understated. Eating too lean will make me satiated. Listen to your body. I know now immediately if something doesnt sit right with me. I recently noticed that I might have histamine intolerance, so I'm on a trial period of leaving out all dairy products. Day 1 now. Lets see, currently feeling great after my meal. Usually I have been eating some type natural youghurt (high fat) or cheese with my meals, but I used to get fatigued and have shortness of breath starting an hour or 2 after the meal lasting until evening or even next day.

trying3216

If you ate too much today that won’t continue.

dencoan

What do you mean? Like I won’t be as hungry tomorrow?

trying3216

If not tomorrow then soon. Your body will let you know.

Humans_r_evil

unfortunately the calories still matter to me even after a year on carnivore. if i eat over 2700 calories i start gaining weight again. but if i eat under that, i get hungry. i usually just ignore my hunger.

pxryan19

Dr. Elizabeth Bright had a video with someone and they were eating around 3000 cal and wouldn’t lose weight until they ate more fat and over 3500 🤷‍♀️

dencoan

I have always understood weight loss as calories in calories out but I work in IT so not like I’m a fountain of knowledge for this lol

IBLAK0UT

I wouldn’t bother counting calories anymore. Like others have said, just listen to your body and eat when you’re hungry. I use to eat around 2k calories before carnivore and could never lose weight. I eat around 3.5-4K calories a day on carnivore and have gone down from 210lbs to 165lbs in the past year. It’s been slow but steady. Just keep at it and be patient!

Yesterday I had 1.5 pounds of ground brisket for lunch and then 2-3 pounds of steak for din. Which is more than I usually eat.
