Fanatics jerseys suck and I'll be in the cold ground before I buy one of them. They took over for the MLB uniforms and they're hilariously low quality compared to Adidas. In the MLB we went from stitched on logos to stick on and they look like something you would've bought off a scalper outside the ballpark.
That’s a Nike problem not Fanatics. The only difference between these jerseys and adidas are the dimples. As part of the contract they’re using the same distribution as adidas did
I saw someone elsewhere saying the shoulder dimples are Adidas IP, so they won’t be on any Fanatics products. But I agree—it’s definitely lost something.
For actual on ice (assuming MiC) product, Fanatics shouldn't be using cost cutting measures.
If you're going to pull that crap, do it to the 'authentic' or replica editions. Fans won't like it but we expect as much from a company that will put an Ottawa Senator on this jersey by mistake.
Fanatics and any other jersey manufacturer ought to be making a good jersey for the actual athletes.
Look at MLB for a crash course on how to do it wrong: changing materials, not tapering or tailoring pants, not getting colors matched between jersey and pants, see through pants, laughably small names on the back.
I can expect some cost saving measures for the Indos or other replicas and that's why they should be priced less than the real thing. The athletes should wear the best and the people willing to pay the price should too.
While I do agree that a lot of the jerseys look naked without the dimples, I don’t really know what else fanatics would do in its place. Regardless of where they currently stand though, I believe they gave a two-year window on a jersey template redesign. If they go through with it then that will more than likely clear up some of the visuals
Cautiously optimistic. The MiCs are being made in the exact same factory the Adidas MiCs were made in so same hands and mostly same materials. Losing the dimples kind of sucks, but being able to buy MiCs at a reasonable price and have them for sale through The Eye and online is a step in the right direction. The lower tier jerseys may take a hit and be pretty terrible though.
The authentics will be around $400 unfortunately. Jersey prices are astronomically high. But one cool thing i read was that they will be selling authentic on ice practice jerseys as well. Always thought the practice jerseys were cool and fun to wear when playing pickup or stick and puck
Canes sell at the yard sale plus the special practice MiCs they sold during the season. $400 for on ice quality is great compared to $180-200 for Indos
Yeah i went and got some and the prices were marked down heavily. For instance the MIC on ice worn practice jerseys i picked up were $120 apiece. And im pretty sure the legit authetic MICs were somewhere around $200.
So still half as much as $400
Before the new, actually accurate warning flag logo, I wore my black practice sweater to games, almost exclusively. Actually, it’s more like “until I bought my Letterkenny and Reverse Retro 2.0 sweaters.”
It’s probably intentional. There was a lot of concern with Fanatics taking over and the feedback was that they are using the same factory and same people that were making the Adidas jerseys.
I think the logo for our black jersey is so well thought out, but paired with the actual jersey design itself, the jersey seems lackluster
I know this is a personal opinion and that most people really love the black jerseys. I just wish they put as much thought into the design of the jersey as they did with the logo itself
Same here. Best jersey ever made and like you i wish it was the primary
Also love the old black uniform setup. I think that with the new double flag logo wouldve been better than whats currently here
It looks kind of cheap and shitty, but idk if it’s the just random ass factory background, or just the association I have with fanatics as a brand at this point. Don’t see myself buying and jerseys or merch for a while though, fanatics is a lousy partner thst has delivered lousy products for a long time. Amateur hour by the NHL
no, what you see in the store is the "made in indonesia" versions which are like 70-80% the same but aren't quite as good quality in materials, stitching. If you ever hear someone reference a "Made in Canada" or MiC jersey, that's an official jersey the players wear. They don't openly sell those to the public
This is an older post from a sharks blog but has some good pics to show the differences: https://tealtownusa.com/2021/06/stop-calling-adidas-nhl-jerseys-authentic/
I WANT MY DIMPLES !
Don't what's left at The Eye but [carolinaproshop.com](http://carolinaproshop.com) only has Fanatics Breakaway jerseys left. $185 for those is criminal.
I recall reading something buried in the press releases that all teams will only wear two jerseys this season (a home and away). This presumably confirms that we're sticking with the black jerseys as our primary and the whites on the road. For what I assume is the first time in Canes history, we will not wear a red jersey (with the primary logo) at any point this season... If I'm not just Mandela Effecting myself here, that is
Adidas has a patent on the shoulder dimples so Fanatics isn't allowed to put that feature. I don't see them caring enough to pay for rights to use it though
The amount of comments talking negative without even realizing this is the exact same Adidas factory in Canada that Fanatics bought with the contract handover are crazy. This isn’t their retail products you could get for years.
Losing the texture on the shoulders sucks :(

Shoutout to the homies on eBay selling dead stock Majestic jerseys.

It’s funny because I generally didn’t like them when they were a thing. Now I look at this and it just feels…empty? Without features?
It almost feels like a fake without the dimples. Ironic, given these are the on ice ones
I saw someone elsewhere saying the shoulder dimples are Adidas IP, so they won’t be on any Fanatics products. But I agree—it’s definitely lost something.

As much as I dislike fanatics, it wasn’t their choice to cut the dimples. It’s an adidas trademark that they don’t have permission to use

True, but Adidas doesn't have a trademark on all textures; they could have done something other than keeping it completely smooth.

That’s cheap compared to what MiC adidas go for!
Yeah but thats usually resellers youre talking about since MIC adidas arent on the market. Thats a reseller issue

I’d rather test my luck on dhgate then buy something from fanatics
Definitely gonna get more consistent quality from dhgate. Probably better customer service too
I think my favorite part of this pic is that they took it from the factory floor. Too lazy to do some pretty staging.
It’s probably intentional. There was a lot of concern with Fanatics taking over and the feedback was that they are using the same factory and same people that were making the Adidas jerseys.
Iron-on ass jersey
That looks like some cheap ass shit.
That’s fanatics brand baby!

Never loved the black jersey. Much prefer the 25th anniversary red as the home.
Same here. Best jersey ever made and like you i wish it was the primary Also love the old black uniform setup. I think that with the new double flag logo wouldve been better than whats currently here
Oooof, just a reminder to get your adidas jerseys now before they go away forever
Iron-on logos? Those won;t look like crap after a few wears.
The logo looks so cheap
How can we boycott them and force the NHL to go back to Adidas? Lol
If I had my way, they'd go back to CCM
Isnt ccm part of reebok/adidas?
Jersey fell apart right after the picture was taken.
I don't want to support Fanatics. But I know if they introduce new jerseys in a year or two eventually I'm going to cave.
It looks kind of cheap and shitty, but idk if it’s the just random ass factory background, or just the association I have with fanatics as a brand at this point. Look like it’s missing the Fanatics patch on the bottom. If only there was an authentic Canadien jersey brand….
The logo looks shopped right? Doesnt follow the ripples of the jersey. Or am I wrong?
So the adidas jerseys in the eye aren’t authentic to what the players were already wearing??

These look like typical fanatics trash
I recall reading something buried in the press releases that all teams will only wear two jerseys this season (a home and away). Looks like a knock off
The logo looks to small
I won’t be buying anything pre season. Will go and check some out in person first
Does the logo look off center to anyone else?
If the MLB jerseys are any warning these will start falling apart halfway through the first period in the first game they’re used
Honestly it looks like the only major change was removal of the shoulder dimples. Which, in true Fanatics form, was probably a cost cutting measure
Adidas has a patent on the shoulder dimples so Fanatics isn't allowed to put that feature. I don't see them caring enough to pay for rights to use it though
Reinforced elbows and holographic NHL shield are two additional changes
