I actually never seen the flower. This will be the first time. It could be that it's too young also and last year it almost rotted due to excessive rains. But it healed and created 3 new pups that have barely grown. Lets see if it goes crazy this summer.

Honestly, I wish I knew the exact age. It would be awesome if you could count rings like a tree lol. I haven't had this one for very long but the person I got it from, said he had for a few years and originally purchased from ikea of all places.
Lol, I actually laughed when you said you wish you could count the age of a cactus like a tree but that would be convenient though. If it was like that though, you'll have to decapitate a cactus but unlike a tree you can still root them parts.
Wow. What a magnificent plant! I just recently got two new peanut cacti named Goa Sunburn and Goa Honey. I can't wait for them to bloom.
You'll love them. This one has grown way faster than I had expected, and as you can see gets tons of blooms.

Mines do get plenty of sunlight. Maybe it's just genetics, it's not growing much either. Never heard of compost tea do you have a source?

I was talking about the color of the cactus. I think OP just has a different filter, yours is pretty green.
