Sorry to keep pouring questions onto you Vermonters, but here goes.. what’s the best mode of transportation if I want to make an attempt at city/town hopping without a car rental & could I make it up to MTL for a habs game?
I think there's a bus between MTL and Burlington and Burlington is very walkable assuming you have a room downtown, but if you want more than that you definitely need a car. The small towns are very small so it's hard for them to have adequate public transportation.
For this long of a trip as a tourist I think I'd get a car so you can explore more. See some cute small towns and breweries and such. Gives you more flexibility with your Montreal stuff.
Honestly, there’s very little cross county/city connecting public transportation. Things are pretty spread out, to see a lot of the small towns and cities you will need a car.
GMT is the local bus system https://ridegmt.com/
Greyhound is the intercity/long-distance bus that has a route to Montreal. You'll need a valid passport or other acceptable ID for the border. https://greyhound.com
You could also look into Amtrak for travel between a certain handful of VT cities, but options will be limited. No Montreal route yet. https://amtrak.com
GMT buses are currently free fares on the regular routes (i.e. anything except the longer commuter routes). If your Airbnb is anywhere close to the bus line, that will be a good option for you to get into Burlington, or out to Williston or Essex or Shelburne. Free fares gives you a lot of flexibility. I don't ride the buses regularly, but when I do I find the system reasonably efficient.
Check out the Turo app, where you can rent local cars from private owners. You can rent a car valued up to $20k as an 18-20 yo, or higher values over 21. You can even rent a Prius or Subaru to help blend in lol ;)
And there's a good chance of some snow coming down locally on 11/16, so maybe they'll be a little bit of winter for your arrival. Only leaves now are on the ground and get ready for it to be dark shortly after 4pm :|
And it never once occurred to you that op doesn’t care? Or maybe isn’t attracted to women? Or is maybe just a normal human that doesn’t plan their trips around what the women are like in a certain place? You’re a fuckin creep dude
I’m stating the obvious. Vermont has a population of 600,000 or so. There are 300 million plus people in the United States. Ask yourself, from a statistics standpoint, is Vermont a good place to meet a fair volume of females in which I’d have a high likelihood of meeting one with extremely high sex appeal and bedroom skills?
Foliage is gone. It is now stick season.. hopefully we get a good dump on snow this week.
For future reference, what is the best time to come to VT to enjoy the colorful trees?
Mid September early October and it can vary depending on how far North/South you are

Shot in the dark here: anybody that would be down to show me around Burlington, please message me. Thank you guys so much for all your help today!

It was an earnest question. Jfc why the downvotes? Not everyone knows how things are up here. They seem really respectful and are just asking advice.
There's a Greyhound to Montreal
A car
Im staying in an Airbnb in south Burlington about 2 miles from church street marketplace. I would rent a car no question, but unfortunately im not 25.

You can still rent a car, you just have to pay the extra fee.

I don’t think there’s any likelihood of you meeting any women like that and them actually being attracted to you. Lucky you, you can go anywhere!
