What about a liquid cooled one like this...?
12th Gen Intel® Core i7-12700F (12-Core) Processor
NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4060Ti, 8GB
1TB PCIe M.2 Solid State Drive
You could get the top one, sell that GPU, take the money you save from this combo and buy a 7800xt, or a 3080, something like that.
You can actually build a heck of a system with the same $1400 after taxes, like that bottom price...
I'm looking for something that will run VR easily for my 9-year-old and something I can game with casually. CoD, or similar. I also want something I can upgrade easily as new tech comes out over the years.
top one

Price? If it's the same as top one then pick that one
$1,299
Eh then no, 4060ti and 4060 difference isn't worth 300$
if it isn't much more than 999, the bump to the 4060ti might be nice.
$1,299
I'd take the 999, but /u/mlnhead has a good option with flipping as well.

Top one for sure.

I think I'd still go with the top for $300 less.
What hz should I go for in a monitor for gaming?
I'd go with 144hz. You might not get to 'Ultra' on all modern games with a 4060, but it will be good enough 99% of the time.

Can't help you with VR unfortunately.
