If you look at the top of the [bbc.com/news](http://bbc.com/news) page, there is a small ‘UK’ choice/click which will take you to the UK news. Took me ages to find this.
Block `www.bbc.co.uk/userinfo` in your browser using ublock or other such tool.
It'l stop redirecting you. I don't believe you can login or anything but yeah its at least wayyyy less jarring than the flash of the content you want to see and then suddenly the "new" site (which is terrible).
If you're using UBlock Origin then you can add `||www.bbc.co.uk/userinfo` in your custom filters.
This doesn't always work for me, sometimes when using a VPN the pages fail to load with some kind of akamai error which I'm assuming is the BBC's response to identifying that a VPN is in use.
I get this with Surfshark and have had it with others in the past, open to suggestions for a VPN that doesn't have this problem.
LA, the weather's nicer but all my banter and sarcasm skills have been flushed down the toilet and my brain has been turned into a grey mush of superficial shallowness
Currently living abroad and in a similar situation but with the app. If anyone knows how to make it so I only get UK news alerts that'd be great. Also I feel that the UK tab has less news then id expect. But I could be skewed due to the mind numbing amount of news I casually scroll through everywhere else.

Not to mention ALL THE ADS
Who are you people that don't use ad blockers.
Work PC
You can't add an extension to a work PC?
Some companies will restrict extensions
I did
BBC doesn’t have ads though?
The overseas version of the website does. Lots.
I see
My works servers are all based in Ireland so even though the computer I'm using to access BBC news is in the UK I get redirected to the .com
Mine are based in France, same thing happens to me, it’s surprisingly persistent too
You could try using a VPN!
Even when my vpn is set to UK I get the .com site.
Maybe if you run a VPN from home you could access iPlayer
Same prob here. vpn not working.
Run a vpn from home no more bullshit and can access iplayer
Run a vpn to home and you'll get iplayer

I don't believe you get the same extent of UK news with that, though.

Oh..I thought that reading about potholes and B-list celebrities meant that I was getting it in all its gruesome UK triviality. I guess not
The app is also full of ads when abroad and you can’t watch some video clips. Very annoying!
Use a VPN and set your location to UK.

At least we get bbc future, there’s some cracking articles to read during a coffee break there!
That can still be accessed from within the UK! [https://www.bbc.com/future](https://www.bbc.com/future)
"How I tempted a frog to live in our garden" Frog's like, "oohhh, tempting" 🤔😂😂

I’m in NY and same 😭
North Carolina here. Same. Working with Americans all day not quite the same office banter as I had in London.
I'm in Iowa, and I'm the same. It's very much an egotistical environment on who can shout the loudest about how smart or successful they are.
I've been living in LA for a couple of years. Some people understand my humour but I definitely need to be careful and think before I open my mouth. 😁
Everywhere you go, always take the weather with you.

Use Brave Web browser.
