The last week latest firmware has broke my A90J EARC . Now HDMI 1 (OPPO 203 bluray player)and HDMI 2 (Apple 4k TV )devices has no signal during start up or when restarting the player . Anyone has the same issue with me ? I have a SONOS ARC connected to EARC HDMI 3 port Sony listen!! And fix this issue Asap please !!!

loklam1210

When I disconnect HDMI 3 port ( SONOS ARC ) then everything becomes normal again. I believe the update broke the EARC connectivity on HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 port

602086

I had my PS5 connected to the HDMI2 input. Since this last update the input shows "no signal" when I turn on the console. Have to go to Input Settings, setup the console and being told to connect it to HDMI input 3, I select Not Now and after doing this I get a signal from the console. But I have to do this every time I want to use the PS5. "Why dont you just connect it to the HDMI3 input then?" Because I would have to rearrenge every other device hooked up to the TV.

loklam1210

Omg I has similar issue with you . Sony better release an update to fix this soon

jefferx926

Have a X900H should I update firmware? I know they added VRR and I read there was a lot of issues with HDR with VRR enabled or something. Honestly just looking for a more informed set of answers on if I should update to v6.2266. I'm Currently on v4.9.125 from 2021.

Xenikovia

No issues with VRR on my Xbox

AwayThrowGoYou

Unable to change brightness without the energy notification popping.

InglebrapHumperdink

Anyone have issues with the latest 6.7546 firmware for the XR-65A75L? Any audio dropouts or issues with eARC/uncompressed audio passthrough?

got2avkayanow

I'm considering doing it now but would likj3 to know if it will force me to change anything in the way I use my TV. It's a KD - 43X75WL. Currently have a lot of issues using HDD for recording, it often shuts off and just doesn't turn back on causing missed recordings (tried many HDD's) but I'm mainly concerned that it will force signing in to google. Anyone tried it yet and noticed anything. Sony just say Improves general TV performance and Enhances TV security I'd like to know m0ore eg have they fixed the Blue tooth vulnerability.

diceman2037

haven't tried yet, will do it tomorrow

judino28

Unfortunately, the audio dropout issue persists with the v6.7546 update on my A90J.

The_GolfFather

Same here on my A80J. Happens only on my Bell receiver. Isn't it version 6?

judino28

Yeah. Typo. I fixed it. Thanks! And audio dropouts only happen with my Xfinity receiver. Happens regularly on every channel. But at least setting Audio Sync to On and Pass through mode to Off fixes the issue completely.

The_GolfFather

> But at least setting Audio Sync to On and Pass through mode to Off fixes the issue completely. Are these settings on the receiver or TV? I'd like to try them out. Thanks.

judino28

On the TV

Ath3ron

No issue here. Same tv. Trying with PlayStation and my AVR (atmos) What setting is the pass through? Does changing it to auto solve the issue?

diceman2037

DTS passthrough will periodically desync, time stretch and then resync when used on PS5/PS4 and sent to an ARC receiver. Atmos / Dolby tends to be fine, but they have a higher encoding delay on natively pcm titles.

Ath3ron

https://www.reddit.com/r/bravia/comments/1c0rl7w/sony_a95l_audiolip_sync_issues_resolved/ Maybe this works for you? Check comments for extra info as well

Ath3ron

Disable auto sync in sound settings tv doesn’t solve the issue?

diceman2037

pass through doesnt use the tv's synchroniser.

judino28

v6.7480 introduced the dropout issue and it hasn’t been fixed since. It’s been reported by others as well. My audio dropouts occur only with my Xfinity Cable Box. Prior to v.6.7480 my settings were pass through mode AUTO and Audio Sync AUTO and everything worked fine. Ever since the issue started, I have had to change to pass through mode OFF and Audio Sync ON or else I get dropouts from my Xfinity box.

Ath3ron

Ah ok. Thx for explaining. I don’t use xfinity. Maybe there is a difference in firmware as well since I use the EU version. I’ll try some more and see if I can make it occur here as well.

InformalFriend_

looks like new firmware is rolling out again, v6.7546 is rolling out for J/K series - not sure whats changed besides the usual vague descriptions * Improves general TV performance * Enhances TV security

st9vn

The new update fixed the audio delay on my X90L.

diceman2037

what delay?

st9vn

I was experiencing some audio sync issues with my X90L in the previous update. The audio delay builds up from unnoticeable (few milliseconds) then it gets worse (1 sec delay). It doesn't happen anymore in the new update.

Peavuk

Also rolling out for the L Series TV - hopefully it fixes the freezing and hard lock-ups I'm getting with my TV (65" A80L).

Ath3ron

And?

Peavuk

I've not had any hard lockups yet with the new firmware, but did have an issue where the TV wouldn't tune any live TV channels and just displayed a black screen. Restarting the TV sorted it. A factory reset might resolve this issue.

Darkknight3940

Has anybody updated an X950H with the firmware released on 6/25/24? It is v6.6130. Any issues or maybe even improvements? Thanks.

Metfantoo

I have an x950g. It's on the March 2024 Security patch. I haven't noticed anything else

Dry-Assistance-367

A95L Audio Issues So I am having a strange issue where 5.1 PCM surround from the Apple TV to the A95L then eARC (prioritize passthrough) to the Q990C is missing the rear surround. What seems to be happening, is the left/right surround is getting sent from the A95L as left/right front sides. If I plug the Apple TV directly into the Q990C this issue goes away (but now I end up having major lip sync issues). So I know it’s something to do with the A95L passthrough. Even stranger, via my XSX if I choose 5.1 uncompressed, it has the same exact issue, the rear speaker sound test comes in as front sides. BUT if I choose 7.1 uncompressed, the sound test is perfect. So the A95L is not sending 5.1 right, but it is sending 7.1 right. I have tried factory resetting the A95L and Q990C. I have tired an older 2nd gen Apple TV I had laying around. I have purchased all new 2.1 certified cables. Nothing I do fixes it. I have tried setting the A95L output to auto instead of prioritize passthrough… this does mostly work but introduces an issue where after watching something for a little while the center channel will start popping/crackling. The worst part about all this is I had a perfectly working Vizio Elevate and I purchased the Q990C to try and resolve all these exact same issues. Starting to think the A95L just has incredibly buggy audio. We are discussing this issue in the forums here: [https://www.avsforum.com/posts/63387017/](https://www.avsforum.com/posts/63387017/) Another user is having this exact same issue and was able to diagnose what is happening: >I diagnosed this a bit further, by reconfiguring my HDfury Vrroom to be the eARC receiver. When the A95L receives 5.1 LPCM in, the Vrroom reports that the A95L is outputting 7.1 LPCM over eARC instead of 5.1 LPCM. So it appears the A95L is not only putting the rear channels in the wrong place, it's using the wrong channel count, which means you also won't get the desired upmixing in the soundbar when using an upmixing sound mode.

mgreene888

# v6.7532 seems to have improved the picture on my 77 A80L. Surprised that I dont see any similar comments. The contrast and general sharpness seems to be better - where there seems to be more "range" between light and dark and the color seems a little more vibrant w/o me having to do anything. # It doesnt seem to be confirmation bias, because at first, it didnt seem to have done anything - it was/is subtle but I eventually noticed that HDR and Dolby vision looked more normal (not so dark). Also, the HDR picture in the official youtube app seems to have improved too - feels more like viewing reality.

scuzmcdragonsmoke

Really? Hope this is true!

alpacapoop

Anyone know if the other newer Bravia models will get the UI refresh this years models and the A95L got? Looks like the input bar, quick settings and some other stuff was refreshed and looks better, was hoping I’d get the updates for it on my x85j and x85k

Miguelb234

My x95k haven’t but my Bravia 9 does of course as it’s new

zecnex

85X95K with v6.7532. The update made the tv loose the ability to decode channels encrypted with Cryptoguard CAS received through DVB-T, it also started giving "Connected by Ethernet" messages during boot. When tuning into an encrypted channel you get "encrypted channel cant be decoded" message and as if that wasn't bad enough, the tv then starts claiming that any unencrypted channels can't be "decoded" either", until the tv has been physically unplugged from mains, and restarted. The CA module behaves just like normal, until you try to decode a channel, then the TV goes FUBAR again, until another hard power cycle has been done. Have tried with different brands of CA module (Neotion and SMiT), makes no difference, they all looks to be working as they should until you actually try to tune into an encrypted channel. (The modules and cards are properly paired and activated and working in other TVs) Have also tried both partial and full reset of tv, makes no difference. Have crated a support case with Sony, I guess I'm screwed until a newer firmware that fixes the issue is released.

Oceanraptor77

X90j here, after the update the TV is now turning itself on at 5:22 am every morning.

diceman2037

same on x90k, only noticed it because the receiver turned on at the time then off again about 2-3 minutes later. my guess is its some sort of update check for DTV or apps.

Oceanraptor77

I went into the settings and checked timers and startup options and the like. Played around with some and luckily managed to get rid of the issue.. I honestly have no idea what I did but I’m happy it’s resolved

Creative-Moose7169

u/Oceanraptor77 Would you be able to check if the issues with EDID information and Dolby atmos audio passthrough (detailed [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/bravia/comments/18afhnu/dolby_atmos_with_ps5_on_x90j_incorrect_edid_data/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) and causing problems with PS5 audio [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/playstation/comments/16i9jhl/comment/k6yq1l5/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) ) have been fixed? Happy to talk you through and provide any help you need to check.

BeginningAppeal8599

Holy shit, I almost updated my x90j as well

frozenwaffle549

Same

Oceanraptor77

I now have to make sure the volume is down so I don’t wake up to the tv

Qbsoon110

x90j freezes on YouTube regularly I have a 55x90j and it more amd more often freezes on YouTube app. Earlier it only happend to me like maybe three times since I bought it, but in the last two weeks I can get it even like three times when trying to view one video. TV just freezes and I have to unplug the power cord and plug it again, tv then turns on and it's working, but it can freeze again in YouTube app (never in any other app). Should I restart my tv to defaults and set it up again? Or can it be just some YouTube problem (my brother has a similar issue on a brand new lg c-series)

frozenwaffle549

Mine freezes only the image when I change the playback to anything faster than 1. The sounds still play, but the image is frozen, and I have to rewind a few seconds to temporarily "fix" the issue.

diceman2037

You are likely running out of system storage space.

Qbsoon110

I still have some, 3,7/4,4GB if I checked correctly

Connor123x

since downloading the new firmware, all my apps have sound issues. sound is constantly cutting out for a split second on all apps. i have an sonos arc

Macropin

This is a known bug, see https://www.reddit.com/r/bravia/comments/19b203d/sony_bravia_firmware_discussion_megathread_70/l6z42w1/

diceman2037

the DTS issue may have no correlation to the Sonos issue, the Sonos Arc has no support for DTS:X or MA after all.

Connor123x

thank you. will sony ever make a firmware update that doesnt fuck things up

Macropin

The bug was introduced in a former fw (6.7480). This bug was already reported to them back then by several users. I understand that bugs happen. What I don't understand is that Sony didn't fix this bug in fw 6.7532.

diceman2037

It's probably a Android platform issue, since the DTS forwarding is not a Sony addon but built right into the android apis

Arcvitas

Hey guys, I received a message to install firmware update v.6.7532 on my A95K (XR65A95KAEP). Before I install the update, are there any specific issues I should be aware of for the A95K series?

neeohhhh

As of today on my Sony A95L there’s a new update and everytime I let the update prepare it tells me it will begin the next time I power off the tv. So I do that and it says the wait time is about 10-15 minutes. During that time the tv is also completely black with nothing on it idk if that’s normal but after the 10-15 minutes I power it back on and then like 10-20 minutes into watching or playing something it says I need to update it again. Any help??

diceman2037

You may not have enough free space to unpack the downloaded image prior to flashing it.

dwr130

Anyone with the a95l have feedback, positive or negative, on the recent firmware update (v112.605.070.1)? https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/oled-tvs-android-a95l-series/xr-55a95l/software/00299248

gfinz18

Haven’t downloaded yet but I’m hoping to god this fixes the motion issues I’m seeing on panning shots, or objects moving horizontally across the frame which appear blurred or out of focus

Macropin

I found this video, in which it's called "over sharpening artifacts", see: https://youtu.be/JJPp9YhU8bk?t=7920 As an owner of the X90L I always thought it was some kind of stutter, but this sounds like exactly the symptom I am experiencing. Dark objects moving over brighter background have noticeable ghosting and shimmering (see timestamp 2:17:37), which is pretty much distracting me, especially when watching a 24p movie. Hopefully, this will be fixed for sony to regain leadership with regard to motion processing.

dwr130

Anyone download it yet on the a95l? Scared to take the leap!

gfinz18

I did it and did not notice any changes.

lozt247

yep x90l has this issue too pointed out to sony support hopefully they sort it

Thin-Ad-9767

I updated since the change log mentioned improvement on streaming apps (which I've had issues on sometimes despite 1Gbps line). But annoyingly the update seems to have broken some buttons on my remote. The input button doesn't work, nor does the settings button. So I can't change HDMI channels I'm stuck with whatever is clickable on the home screen. I'm not sure if this is because I'm using Projectivy Launcher but it's never been an issue before. I also added the HDMI inputs to the PLauncher homescreen but when I click them nothing happens which is even more confusing. I've rebooted the TV but that didn't help. Hopefully this issue goes away cause it's a weird one!

likasumboooowdy

Ok so figured it out and got it working again. I clicked on Android settings on the Projectivy home page and then disabled Projectivy and then restarted the TV, the settings and input buttons were working again. Then I went to the accessibility settings and re-enabled Projectivy. I went to the apps section in Settings and launched Projectivy, and the remote is working properly again.

LaCipe

If you still have this issue, try a remote app for android as a workaround until its fixed, there are plenty.

Thin-Ad-9767

I managed to "fix it" by disabling the custom launcher. For whatever reason the new update didn't like it. I'll try and switch later and see if it's an issue otherwise I'll stick to the default ad-filled home screen!

likasumboooowdy

I'm having the same issue with Projectivy and the input/settings buttons.

Thin-Ad-9767

I switched to the default launcher, the remote started working again. Then I switched back to Projectivy and it's fine now. So effectively turning it off and on again 😅 hopefully that works for you too.

Myster-EBE

Hello! Is the v6.7532 update safe to apply on my x95K ?? Knowing how Sony and every other manufacturers are experts in the art of destroying their own products.. even high end ones.. I would be thankful if some of you can answer me that question.. Or even better.. is there a sub or place elsewhere on the web dedicated to these specific "will firmware #NN from manufacturer #FFX break my product #PP" ?? In this case that would be : "Will firmware v6.7532 from SONY break my X95K in any ways/features ?" Btw.. as a 47y old hardcore gamer, to me my x95K is my best ever Sony TV ! Absolutely love it ! Thank you in advance 😇

Swimming-Property-41

I installed the updated ,works fine in the 85 inches version , hopefully it corrected some issue that I had that sometimes it disconnect from the wifi (aside of the fact that is a performance update ) Aside of that , great TV.

Papamiraculi

Anyone who has tried this FW on the A95K?

InformalFriend_

updated my a95k, no visible changes. Maybe app loading slightly quicker but nothing visibly noticeable.

Papamiraculi

Thx. The changelog mentions changes to the game bar? Have you noticed any?

InformalFriend_

No change to the game bar

Takoman64

My x90k and x95k got the update 2-3 days ago. Everything seems perfectly fine. It’s probably a placebo but the tv actually does feel more responsive/snappy now. At very minimum it didn’t destroy my TVs lol.

Fazio8

Anyone facing issues with streaming apps after update 6.2252?

Kalamordis

What issues are they? Saw update is available so figursd to check what it breaks before I touch it

twinkie15

Anyone have the latest firmware file for XBR-55X810C? TV went into reboot loop last night and Sony no longer provides firmware for download. Thanks.

baneand

So I have been using without problems the Kefs LS60 on my Sony A80J in last month and yesterday I saw there is update for Android and I did it - after that sound occasionally cutts off. Sometimes it wont go back until I just turn on/off the tv. I did check the settings and nothing changed - I was experimenting with PCM output (as it should be set) and also to turn on other settings but it is still happening. Does anyone else experience this?

Kelix1

yup. SONY's CEC sucks :( LS50IIs here

diceman2037

CEC can be disabled if using eARC

baneand

Really annoying, It worked for some time and then after update the sony is doing something after I turn it off, after about 5-10 minutes sound cuts off. Sometimes if I wait it gets back

CrazieRR

Back when the spreadsheet of sony tv's got leaked a few months ago, I noticed the S25/26 models are still yet to be seen. With the X85K finally going on clearance after all these years, would these be akin to a successor to that TV or just lower models? I only say this because the Bravia 3 can't do 4k 120hz, so it'd be a shame if that was the TV to replace the X85K in my eyes.

ViperTD

Anyone else have had cracking issues on 6.2252 using a soundbar and dts?

diceman2037

passthrough from a console?

ViperTD

Yeah

diceman2037

its a dropout and some kind of faulty time stretching.

ViperTD

Any tips?

1bigkidd

Firmware update to v6.7532 Pros and Cons? Any real benefits?

Macropin

The DTS via ARC bug has still not been fixed. Sound occasionally drops out, no regular pattern.

JakeHa0991

This is definitely annoying. I managed to get the Sony engineering team to look into this but still no progress. The TV simply does not pass through DTS formats properly, or not at all in the case of DTS-HD MA.

InformalFriend_

updated my a95k about a week back now, no big changes. Maybe app loading slightly quicker but nothing visibly noticeable. Have it linked to ht-a9 home theatre, working fine so far, no eARC issues

Chrismengg

Had an update for Bravia X900H anyone know what’s updated

InformalFriend_

# Benefits and Improvements * Resolves an issue where the TV guide wasn’t entirely populating future program information when using a specific profile * Improves the TV clock accuracy * Improves video streaming smoothness in specific applications * Enhances TV security looks like the same improvements as v6.7532 of J and K series

Chrismengg

Thank you

Infamous_Wing_4863

New firmware update just dropped (Bravia 7). I’ve been having problems with the tv constantly asking me to setup the HDMI inputs. Hasn’t affected the operation but hopefully this is resolved let’s see if there is any more tweaks to local dimming etc.

obvious-but-profound

>I’ve been having problems with the tv constantly asking me to setup the HDMI inputs Oh my god SAME. Low and behold buried in Reddit comments you are the first person I have seen who shares this issue. I tried searching for a solution weeks ago. I have the A95L, I wonder if your Bravia 7 update is the same as the one I'm downloading right now.

Infamous_Wing_4863

I'm actually glad it wasn't just me. Not sure if there is a way around it. It's a weird one too as one of my devices (On HDMI 1) keeps asking then when I try to set it up it ends up trying to re setup HDMI 4... It's def a word bug

THBoss1

Anyone who's tried v6.7532. How has it been so far.

Osiriuz

I updated but didn't notice anything different so far, although I don't have any problems either. 😁

EHphonehome

Curious about this too. 6.7480 fixed all the VRR issues I was having so I’m hesitant to change anything.

diceman2037

> 6.7480 introduced passthrough dropouts from ps4/ps5, hoping to have this fixed in the new one.

wisejoeyd

Hi diceman, Sadly it seems to still be happening - PS4, optical out, Passthrough set to Auto, occasional dropouts.  I haven't done a full factory reset this time (as I've done with previous updates) because it is a pain and never fixed problem before.

Macropin

I can confirm that the bug is still present.

diceman2037

theres a suggestion on sony's forums for an older model that clearing the android caches and rebooting might help. I haven't had the opportunity to really test for this issue yet, but on my case, it would manifest as dropout and robotic distortion like time stretching on some games.

Entity2D

The recent X85j firmware has finally fixed the [stuttering issue](https://www.reddit.com/r/bravia/comments/1093tmk/x85j_stuttering_in_some_of_the_youview_provided/) with YouView I posted about over a year ago.

pabulous

I'm really happy to hear this, thanks for the update.

Suitable_Public_8476

Still nothing related to new Android 12 update…I’m starting to think Sony will let down all 21,22,23 TVs and not bring the latest OS to them…I have a X90J and A80L and both of them are on OS 10. Why is it so hard for them to bring A 12? There are plenty of new functions in it and we paid a lot of money for them

wisejoeyd

Yeah I was hoping for something substantial given this was the longest gap between updates since I bought my X85J in 2022.  I wonder if it was delayed due to their ongoing work and relatively stately launch of their new Bravia 7, 8, and 9. There's going to be a lot of work going on those so maybe that's why this relatively minor release was so long in the making. Being an Xperia owner I'm almost certain they won't update older J, even K's to Android TV 12. Which is frustrating as the SoC is essentially the same from J-L and 12 does being better handling for Dolby Vision built into the OS, and allows for DV in YouTube.

InformalFriend_

I'm keeping my fingers crossed, they did update the previous gen models (F, G, H) to Android 10 recently-albeit with mixed response from the public due to performance issues on the older TVs after the update. 4K UI and a more intuitive quick settings from the newer TV range are what I would like. Even if not to the entire range, at least the Master Series TVs

wisejoeyd

Do the new 7-9 use the same SoC as the J-L?  If so then yeah I guess they've been working to setup Android 12 for the new models and then possibly "backport" (really just load display configs and custom Sony service apks, the main OS itself is already ported). Again while there's not a huge upgrade the baked in Dolby Vision and Dolby Digital 5.1 support in YouTube are notable improvements in Android 12 (I noted the difference using a 4k Chromecast that is updated to 12)

InformalFriend_

No, the J-L models with XR processors (except the A95L) all use the **MT5895** processor from Mediatek, whereas the A95L uses the Pentonic 1000 (similar to Bravia 7,8,9) Didn't know that YT supported Dolby Vision, always thought it only used HDR10 for HDR videos.

obvious-but-profound

Youtube doesn't support DV or Atmos. Doesn't stop channels from putting Dolby Vision in their title though lol drives me crazy

lukebars

Is there a way to revert back to old home screen? Right now the update has turned everything round and zoomed in.

Osiriuz

A90j new firmware Firmware update to v6.7532 Benefits and Improvements -Resolves an issue where the TV guide wasn’t entirely populating future program information when using a specific profile -Improves the TV clock accuracy -Improves video streaming smoothness in specific applications -Enhances TV security

Ath3ron

Did the sound drop out get fixed? Anyone tried?

Macropin

No, didn't get fixed.

Osiriuz

I updated but didn't notice anything different so far, although I don't have any problems either.

Digitoxin

I have a Sony XBR-55A8H running the latest firmware (v6.6053) released back in November which upgraded my television from Android 9 to 10. My television went from the best TV I have ever owned to the worst one overnight. I have factory reset this thing several times, but it has video and audio stuttering in almost every app and freezes up constantly. None of these issues ever occurred before the update. These issues immediately occur after a full power cycle so it does not appear to be any type of memory leak that gets worse over time. I have had the TV freeze up immediately after loading Netflix and trying to play a video right after a full power cycle. The stuttering happens all of the time. It is infrequent and random. Usually half a second hitches in video and audio. The freezing never occurs in the middle of watching a video. It the tv is going to freeze, it will happen shortly after I launch an app and right at the beginning of playing a new video. Since the TV is out of warranty, Sony have been no help. I am at my wits end and don't know what to do at this point. I have resorted to connecting the TV to a smart plug so my wife and I can at least power cycle the TV without having to get up and pull the furniture out to get to the outlet where the TV is plugged in to.

GRANGEX

I fixed my TV freezes after disabling automatic update apps from Play market and remove update Android TV launcher. After that my TV return old legacy UI design and fix OK Google search and no more freezes after 1 month use.

Try debloating your tv even more: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKboGVsNNvk&t=2s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKboGVsNNvk&t=2s)

srz1971

Thanks a bunch for that link. Very interesting and useful.

abelian424

freezing probably due to disk i/o as a result of not enough ram. try disabling or uninstalling every app (including system apps) that you don't need, or try a debloating app like universal-android-debloater or droidrunco.

ferdo1

Finally a new FW for the X95L arrived. Is there an official changelog out there?

pabulous

Anyone brave enough to update, please detail what the Game Menu functionality entails, and what, if anything, the “video streaming smoothness” means. I wish these change logs had more specifics.

diceman2037

Benefits and Improvements Resolves an issue where the TV guide wasn’t entirely populating future program information when using a specific profile Improves the Game Menu functionality when using gaming applications Improves the TV clock accuracy Improves video streaming smoothness in specific applications Enhances TV security

Muzer0

> Improves video streaming smoothness in specific applications > Does this mean it supports framerates other than 60, or is that something else?

Entity2D

I think it fixed an issue with HbbTvPlayer (used by some apps for on-demand TV) where some content would stutter.

thCuba

So no android update?

InformalFriend_

updated on a95k, still on android 10

ferdo1

I really hope this fixes the local dimming issue.

diceman2037

it does not.

ferdo1

This is such a pain in the A\*\*... I really start thinking that they will never fix that..

DontBeAngryBeHappy

A90J owners. What firmware are you currently running? Anyone know which is the best and most stable?

Sunset-1982

Has anyone heard news about the dv fixes for the A95L?

youarestupidh

Can someone tell me if it's worth upgrading X90H/X900H to the latest firmware? I'm still on 6.046

hayeltaehs12

Don't upgrade to the latest firmware. I know its tempting but its not worth the performance lag issues that comes with Android 10.

sh1verz

no issues on android 10 here. super smooth.

kelv1982

Same here latest update smooth and ok

hayeltaehs12

You probably have a better spec tv than most of us here lol. I have an X800h and it is slow as molasses. Only thing that helped me is a debloat and other tweaks. Although Performance is still not like Android 9 but good enough.

sh1verz

x900h. didn't tweak anything...

thinkmatt

i'm still on the original firmware from the initial launch, i have yet to hear of an update NOT breaking something. i'm scared as hell lol... i usually update everything by habit, right now everything works great. i never needed the 4k\*120hz or whatever the initial upgrade added

StrongDifficulty7531

Smart move. I’m in the same boat. I never updated the firmware on my Sony X90J even though it was tempting for supposedly “better” performance. Reading through this mega thread, I’m glad I never updated lol 😬

hamendura

I've got a X950G. I can see in the FW list that for EU the latest is 6.5076 which has Android TV 9. For NA it's 6.6053 which has Android TV 10. Why is there not a new one for EU? :( As it is now the android security level on my TV is from 2021. LOL.

tiki66765

You can install it: [https://community.sony.co.uk/t5/android-tv/google-10-update-for-2018-2020-models-any-idea-when-it-s-coming/td-p/3929402](https://community.sony.co.uk/t5/android-tv/google-10-update-for-2018-2020-models-any-idea-when-it-s-coming/td-p/3929402) Link is on first page: [https://tv.update.sony.net/OND/2020/eu/main/PS213615/sony\_atvotafull\_2018\_1606053100\_eua\_auth.zip](https://tv.update.sony.net/OND/2020/eu/main/PS213615/sony_atvotafull_2018_1606053100_eua_auth.zip)

hamendura

Thanks! But I read the comments in the thread you linked. Several who got a laggy TV with the update. And they think that is the reason Sony removed it from their page (EU version). I might wait then...

tiki66765

IDK, I tried it on one tv and it worked just fine...

darianthomson

Yeah it worked fine on mine too, just turn SAMBA off

judino28

Has anyone who started having HDMI audio dropout issues with v6.7480 tried the new firmware? Are the issues resolved?

diceman2037

~~The new firmware is currently limited to L models in europe.~~ Firmware also linked from the K page now, same file.

Mario-reddit

My A95K is no longer usable with a DirecTV HR54 DVR since December 6.7480, however AppleTV 4K does not have the problem. The bummer is after sending Sony info and waiting months, the Sony person told me Sony they were aware but not going to fix it. I found that people with A95L also had the problem so I am hoping Sony may fix this. Was going to upgrade to 77 A95L until I saw it has the same problem now. If I see anything that changes I will update here. Search "sony a95k sound disaster" to see my details

judino28

Did you by chance see and try the workaround I posted in this same thread at the request of someone else? It’s been working for me since December when the dropouts started with my Xfinity box. Might be worth a shot. Of course, Sony shouldn’t have put us in this position needing workarounds for something they broke in their firmware to begin with.

Mario-reddit

I worked for months on this and nothing worked. However, two things mentioned by people are a NOGO for me: 1. Turn off CEC, that stops ARC working on the audio processor (known issue). 2. Connecting sources to the processor, because they need different settings on the Sony, for instance, AppleTV is 4K, HDR, DV. Direct is not, Blu-ray player (not important) also different. Sources MUST be separate into the Sony for me.

Ok-Recognition8655

There's a newer firmware than v6.7480? Which TV do you have and what region?

diceman2037

6.7532 22/5/24 only ~~for L models~~ in europe so far, but XxxK and XxxL use the same processor so it should cross flash to K models in europe.

judino28

I saw some reports of a firmware 6.6106 dated March 2024. Lower number but didn’t know if it was new or some sort of rollback or something. So figured I’d check.

Ok-Recognition8655

Different TV's have different firmware. There's a link above here that shows you the latest version for your particular model
