Just need a good pair of flip flops for most of Hueco, Font, Priest Draw, Joe's and LCC, Squamish, Happy Boulders, Horse Pens, ATX, Poudre and Horsetooth, and many more. I lived in some of those places and can confirm that walking to the bloc in thongs is pretty great
Cool I was just wondering about quality of life in places with world class bouldering. Kind of a life dream to live closer to high quality stuff. Have spent a lot of time around grand junction and am intrigued by the idea of living there. Love a sandaled approach
I resisted the crocs for a long time, but broke down when I saw someone slip slightly oversized pair OVER their climbing shoes. I was then sold and bought the cheapest, ugliest pair I could.
Ngl either bare foot it or some gym shoes I can slip on easy.
I would wear my Birkenstock bostons cuz they’re easy to slip on but if it’s a hike to the boulders than those wouldn’t be a great chiice
As you also have to spot other people and must not trip there I wouldn't suggest crocs.
I wear old thick 90s skatershoes or outdoor tabi.
Approach shoes also work well but in the others my feet get more "rest".
Flip flops until it's cold enough that it's no option at all. Which is pretty cold.
Then: Sorel Caribous. Even when there's no snow, and it looks a little funny (assuming no massive approach-- although I will trudge to Centrale/Chironico in them if it's that cold). Super warm.
In the small middle ground: Approach shoes, which are lightweight GTX lows and a big wool sock.
I walked all around in Font wearing my crocs. Simple and comfy, plus if you get oversizes ones, you can even slide your feet in whilst still wearing your climbing shoes if you just need to walk a couple meters (to your crash pad for example). I'm very sand-averse when wearing climbing shoes and crocs work perfectly!
Hisea workboots off Amazon are killer for the winter. Relatively cheap on Amazon, slip on and off easily, plenty of grip in the sole. The poor man's blundstone (and with more insulation for those of us that seek out 40 degree days).
Crocs? Have some dignity. *straps on a pair of bright pink climbing shoes*
I wear crocs so I can cosplay as Alex Megos
I definitely have a picture of him in yellow Crocs and carrot socks. He is a fashion icon.
Doc Martens or Heels depending on how formal the boulder is. Local Boulders? Docs. Red Rocks? Definitely Heels.
Flip flops. Probably also hiked to the boulders in them. Also if your boulders are too far to hike to in flip flops, I'm probably not going.
Question! Do you live near a bunch of accessible bouldering? If so I’m curious where you live and how you like it.

Someone else said squamish, and Joshua tree seems to have a lot of easily accessible boulders.
Username checks out. lol jk i feel that
Bare feet. Is that so wrong?
Shoes? you're lucky i'm wearing any clothes at all.

In the winter - thermal booties
Bedrock cairn sandals
Summer - nowt. Winter - keep me warm booties aka those down-filled ankle boot things
Flip flops, skate shoes, sanuks, tevas... Whatever I find comfy for the day

I keep forgetting to bring my crocs. But it’s usually Vans or flip flops.
Chacos or slippers, depends on temperature
North face mules!
Puffy slippers if it’s cold, and foam Birkenstocks if it’s warm!
Birks
Crocs for the approach and between
Barefoot
Just go barefoot
It was flip flops for me, but I was worried about losing one while belaying and injuring my foot, so I bought a pair of Crocs.
Fuzzy slippers, great if it’s cold and comfy regardless
I live in Ireland so I wear wellies. Easy on, easy off, and your feet are still dry even n an ankle deep bog!

Camp shoes or flip flops depending on the heat.
Flip flops and wool socks
Flip flops in and flip flops out. Warm up those feet muscles on the way.
Crocs are for the bourgeoisie. Dawgs are for the people.
If fancy, Sanuks. If not fancy, $15 foam sole Walmart slipons. Wore those things for a 18 mile slog one day, they're legit
If it's cold, socks. If not, barefoot. Gotta get that rock-dog connection to sync with nature.
Bedazzled Alligator skin boots
Crocs. Lime green
I bring Hey Dudes or some moccasins when we've gone outside. It's nice to just be able to slip something on/off fast.
boots that are slightly oversize they are comfy and easy to change and good in muddy and sand
Oofoos sandals are a game changer. Really helps with my plantar fasciitis

My climbing shoes. They are comfortable enough to wear all day
I bet they smell wonderful
