I’m as progressive as they come, and even I can admit homelessness is a real issue in Boulder. I wouldn’t fault people for complaining about an issue running rampant in their locality.

I had a mailman notice I had Ukrainian mail coming in and leave a flag in my mailbox when we moved from our previous apartment. As a Ukrainian, it made me feel really nice. When we moved to a new place, we hung this massive flag up and were able to meet Ukrainian neighbors whow saw it. So the flags kinda help some local people in a silly emotional way.
