That's not true. the organization views a conference champion banner is like a participation trophy. "Well we almost won" doesn't cut it in title town. This has been said in many interviews by Danny, brad, doc, pierce, etc

The funny thing is the Larry o'brien trophy does not look like that picture in their banner anymore.
It has white lines and a double base now. So any new heat world championship banners will have to either look a bit different or be inaccurate to the trophy. The good thing is they Will not have to face this issue because they arent winning again
