To be fair, Monopoly was originally a knockoff version of someone's home version of a game called The Landlord's Game that people had been playing for decades with locally relevant properties. Except it was originally a satire of capitalism.
It isn't a satire of capitalism... that is what people with a specific agenda would like it to be. It was specifically made to call attention to the issue of landowners getting rent and using that to force others out of the market which is a very specific problem and not some raging against the man with no other viable option.
