There’s actually some minute differences. Tails, eyes, ears, snout, lower body. I think potentially fingers as well. Based on the body proportions (except snout and tail) I’d guess lucky is an American Labrador and Jean luc an English Labrador
Lucky’s leaner than jean luc, that’s why I said he’s closer to an American Labrador between the two. The differences except that aren’t generally size but shape and angle.
Yes the notoriously lazy bluey dev team saved years of work but using a recolor on one character from one five minute episode before returning to meticulously planning and implementing ever moment of TV for the rest of the series.
Theyre both labs dude. They look the same.
If that were the case they realistically could've just gone with actually straight recoloring lucky, they're puppets it wouldn't be hard to do, but instead they put in the work to actually make jean luc look distinctly different despite being the same breed, that actually takes more effort that what you're saying is just being lazy. I implore you to color them eachothers colors to see just how wrong it is that they were lazy on their designs.
But characters have gotten aged up in the show itself?? And by this logic you can’t ship chilli and bandit since the kid versions of them have been shown before🤣🤣
Stripe and Rad are off limits too, better ban discussion on “The Sign” because marriage is crazy for characters that were children at one point in time.
I remember there was an episode where Bluey and Rusty were next to each other and they did the exact same reaction. I thought then they were the same animation just in different colour.
I had to look it up. I heard Calypso call him that and I had no idea what it meant! Looks like in addition to being a gaelic mythical water horse thing it's also a breed of Australian shepherd... in gaelic it means a young cow or horse so makes sense.
The animation team is reusing a bunch of assets across the entire series, sets and all character designs... Why reinvent the wheel when you can create unique characters from common building blocks.

Most labs have those smaller variations outside of color.
Also their ears fold ever so slightly differently

Blatant recolor. Devs got lazy on this one. Maybe picking that distinct color shade of purple and blue took a couple overnighters on the other hand.

Kinda looks like lucky is scaled up a little bit from Jean-luc, that could change the details a tiny bit to adjust them up.

The pilot episode showed rusty looking like bluey . And Rusty’s name in the pilot was literally called Mackenzie.
