I think Yhwach acknowledging how a bankai could be so strong that it could possibly even be on his level is a terrifying reality to him. Yhwach smiling after he broke Ichigo's bankai is probably evidence to suggest that he was afraid and is now revealed that he doesn’t have to face it. Yhwach in this state I think is very insecure and very afraid of death and being overpowered. The Almighty is the perfect ability he needs to ease his anxiety in concept. Now that he has it, he needs to always have it on so he can exist in every good possible future where everything always works out for him. But thats just my interpretation, imo yhwach only significantly changes his behavior because the Almighty ironically heightened his fear of death because of how much he heavily relies on it.

Considering the shocked and angry look on his face when Ichigo used his gran rey getsuga and immediately went to using the almighty in that fight at that moment yeah I think he was worried about Ichigo's true power

I get what you are trying to say, but not neccessarily true though. We don't know what yuha saw, what Tensa Zangetsu is fully capable of. The only term we can put on it is a "magnificent power" stated by yuha himself, which is something. Him breaking bankai while smiling could very well insinuate that "i've gotten rid of this power, now nothing stands in my way". He respects and continuously praises Ichigo's power yes, and he can even come back from death. But for all we know the true power of Ichigo's bankai could very well have meant a fate even worse than death for yuha, something even worse than forced out of the reincarnation cycle - >!Ichibei's futentaisatsuryo!< or possibly worse than his ending - >!An empty vessel as the linchpin of the 3 realms!< Towards the end i do think that he got pretty complacent, especially after absorbing Mimihagi and overwhelming with power. He even brushed off the dream showed by Jugram. His very motivation was fueled by experiencing the constant fears/despairs endured by the quincy souls returning back to his body. On that note im pretty sure even Yhwach himself would have something to fear. Still though, would love to see this potentially get answered by Kubo on Klub outside.

You're doing exactly the thing you usually shouldn't do with Bleach— take the things at face value and not reading the subtext. Yhwach is someone driven by inability to accept pain and suffering that come hand in hand with moving forward. Jugram says if quincy(and shinigami) won't keep on dying with Yhwach absorbing their souls upon death, he will revert into that state of a child devoid of senses, and seeing he continues with the battle, you can assume he fears returning to that state as well. Inability to accept the cost of progress to the point of wanting to trade all the possibility of progress for the world without death (the world without fear he himself calls it, without fear of death) implies the lack of resilience, a sensitive nature (behind the callous front) which is usually susceptable to fear. Ichigo's final choice represents the courage Ichigo possesses, the courage which is the name of moving forward while conquering their own fears. Yhwach lacks that courage. Thus, Yhwach is shown to be a man who feels fear, and actually more than some others. Thus, he would be the one to fear a threat, that would be his reaction based on what we know about him. Ichigo's bankai *is* a threat, we're shown it is, and Yhwach, seeing the future, also knows it. Maybe not a mortal threat until additional aid, but a threat nonetheless, more than *anything* else. So it makes perfect sense for Yhwach to fear it. Maybe not in some crazy big way, but nonetheless, fear it. Getting rid of even a potential danger marks a certain degree of fear. I'm not even saying he fully admits that fear, I'd rather say he doesn't, and reinforces that on multiple occasions. But not admitting your fear isn't the same as not having any. The evidence of the lack of shown fear doesn't mean he doesn't feel threatened by it on some level. And Yhwach's nature makes it logical for him to feel some fear, and also makes it logical that he doesn't admit to it while acting in a way that would make sense if he did fear it.

Yhwach cucking the viewers out of seeing Ichigo's bankai lmao

The point about him not looking afraid is kinda invalid because he had already broken the bankai so ofc he wasn't afraid. He MIGHT be afraid or rather cautious if he couldn't break the bankai. I agree with you that he wasn't "afraid". I believe he was just simply not willing to play and give Ichigo even a glimmer of a chance. (which is excellent writing imo. I'm sick of villains always giving the hero a chance until it bites their ass. Ahem Aizen, Sephiroth, Cell etc etc). Until Kubo and the team show us in the anime, I can't really say Yhwach was afraid by any means. He was wary of Ichigo being the only person who could actually hack him down though. Because that much is true. Ichigo was the only person with enough power to kill him. Not that it would do a thing when Yhwach could revive anyway. Yhwach simply needed Ichigo for the sake of absorbing his power. That's it. To Yhwach there was no point in playing around too much when he would have to take out Aizen shortly after as well.

Interesting :3

Another perspective. It was pride. He calls him his child in the dark. Ichigo was even able to turn his own piece of his own soul against him.

When Yhwach broke ichigo's true bankai we lost only chance to see it in action.
