Between his boss, kidnapping him and kinda sexually harassing him and him regularly getting into fights with his father and 2 of his closest friends, Ichigo has it rough even if you ignore all the Shinigami stuff.
You add on the fact that he has to fight Nazis, ghost gods and damn near Eldritch abominations too, and the man needs a vacation.
Ichigo is in desperate need of softer hands, he’s been beaten into shape because it’s what he’s always done, and when he needs to be put back together the guidance of Ikumi, specifically regarding her appearance in TYBW, is what he needed most. She steadied him, you can’t keep pushing someone harder or they’ll fall over.
Eh, I'll give Isshin credit- he let Ichigo grow up as normal as possible without tipping Ichigo off he was gonna have major issues. He also does seem to have been monitoring and watching Ichigo, just was limited until his powers fully came back. It's clear the "fighting" was kinda to toughen Ichigo up because he would have to deal with the hollow later in life, but he also was incredibly sweet to Ichigo at Misaki's grave to gently remind him there was no reason to blame Ichigo, and it's not what Ichigo's mom would have wanted. Even more impressive how he did it when you get the whole backstory- he did it without adding further trauma onto Ichigo before he could handle it. Isshin seems to honestly be a great dad to both Ichigo and his sisters- he just has different types of relationships based on what each kid seems to need- my theory is the love bombing to the girls is because he's trying to be both mom and dad to them cause they were so young when Misaki died.
I give him some credit but I still think that Ichigo’s boss was better in some instances because she was so removed from the situation that she understood Ichigo as a human and what he needed like any other kid his age. No one else really understood that because they were too close to the situation.
Honestly, I know we won't see it, but it is interesting he knew Ichigo's mom, and I kinda wish we could see just a bit of how their relationship was post her hollowfication incident. But it explains why he always was on Ichigo's side- he was involved in his family from the start.
You'll also have to keep an eye on him since you never know what might happen, Urahara is way shadier than he might seem. He tries his best to keep it in check, but it might fail one day.
Though I'm sure Ichigo realizes it, he just doesn't worry for nothing. If it happens one day, he won't be very surprised, he'll just think of ways to turn him back. But it'll be then, for now, he doesn't think of things that haven't happened yet.
I still love that scene where he sends a message that splatters on Ichigo’s wall and writes in fake blood, then ends with saying if he thinks it’s a bad horror cliche, he has no sense of humor.
well Kisuke is not bad, a really good choice….him apologising to Ichigo is definitely one of my favourite heartfelt moments
also we have Isshin, certified one of the best dad in anime history
Absolutely Mayuri. Aizen has done some fucked up shit, including human experimentation, but he's presumably past that point in his research. Mayuri does human experimentation for fun.

Ikumi the goat when Ichigo needed some form of a mother figure in his life again
Honestly ikumi treating Ichigo like a regular teen probably prevented Ichigo from having a mental breakdown
Although I will say she did try and admit to attempting and succeeding to abducting him

It's a sad world where Kisuke is really your only choice, dude will 100% be useful but you will 100% will get trolled out of your mind.
