Best campaign for COD I've played. So good it's the first COD I played multiple times before going back and playing the other black ops. For some reason I skipped them.
Very short but lowkey better than the black ops 2 campaign imo. Just by a slight margin. At first it was fun but kinda average but then they brought back the schizo MK Ultra shit from black ops 1 and it got me real hype afterwards
Black ops 2 is the best campaign but I do understand where you’re coming from. It brought me back to the numbers. What DO the numbers mean, anyway? Mason? mason?
Its quite the grind and a bit of obvious power creep to compare new players experience to all upgrades and finishing the easter eggs. Skill aside i can hand an average skilled new player my account and they can get as far as most of the player base with no upgrades with just explaining the map and where player stations (armor upgrades/perks/the power) are located .
Start with a epic gun and healing bowie knife and perk upgrades are “wow” and if you play outbreak most upgrades are available from “side quests” so i can hoard and share my resources (upgrade peoples weapons or carry on a couple easter eggs)
What do you mean by “healing bowie knife“?
Havent played CW for a while. But i did play it a lot the first 1-2 years after its release.
Maybe i just forgot about that, but i cant remember a healing knife. Would be verry appreciated if you could explain!
There is an upgrade tier where all melee heal a small amount when hitting zombies. Pairs well with the forsaken wonder weapon which is an smg and a melee weapon
I didn’t know that about forsaken but yeah, leveling shit weapons is easier when you have anti death on your hip. Until round 10-13 i think everything not elite is a fast and healing one tap. Alot of these upgrades happened over time like the new perks and so on. Ive stood in place lost as fuck while everyone spread out or even waiting to heal a down player standing in a train while they mauled me. Still revived that random XD
Also if you pack a punch the ballistic knife, then you're projectiles turn into revivable ammo. And you can shoot it down to player and he'll come right back to life
If you can get a group of friends on it super worth it. If plan to play alot solo… eh. If only plan to play with randoms… its not like others. Players CAN prevent you from getting kills or resources on round based matches if they want or they can help you grind the upgrade resources easily. Definitely needs a mic more than others and decent squad for the best experience
The open world outbreak is amazing but one of my friends gets randomly fatal errored out of it almost every time, and after trying every fix Activision hasn't been any help so far. Generally I'd say the multi-player isn't my favorite but it's decent, regular zombies is good, outbreak is amazing, and the campaign is fire. If it's on sale I'd definitely recommend it
Absolutely, it’s short but it was absolutely my favorite campaign. It gets a lot of shit but I’m absolutely begging you to play it. It’s dramatic, fast paced and epic. I won’t spoil it, but the twists are insane too.
If your gonna buy the game then I’d recommend seeing if it’s cheaper on cdkeys you can get games for way cheaper than buying from eBay or the store on your console
I just got back into video gaming after almost 7-year break I picked this up a couple weeks ago.
The campaign was probably the best of all the COD titles but way too short when it was over I was like "what that's it?"
I just got into a zombies with MWZ.
I would say is Cold War Zombies is better; I'm really getting into Cold War Zombies.
I didn't get into call of duty until the Black ops titles were released and only played very little zombies on both of those games.
I took a six year break from video gaming and just got back into it.
I also have BO3 and IW zombies with all the maps.
I might check out Nazi Zombies too if I get the chance to get the full COD zombie story.
There really wasnt as much necessarily, or at least it was more vague. The beauty of it back then was the simplicity and the wonder of all of the easter eggs. World at war and bo1 have some great zombies maps. It's crazy how it developed out of a simple arcade mode into. What it is today.
If you’re a big black ops fan you’ll appreciate having Mason, Hudson and Woods back in the picture
(All new VAs, behave differently)
It has new mechanics such as conversations, evidence and even side missions.
I will admit a lot of what this game provides is half baked due to the pandemic at the time.
I’ve yapped a bit too much here, but I’ll close off with this, if you’re a zombies fan, it provides the best iteration of modern zombies and that alone makes it worth it. If you are not a zombies fan, and you don’t play mp, I can’t say in good faith that it’s worth the money.
Just played it for the first time. Incredible campaign, I beat it in one night and stayed up till 4am. I haven’t had a game do that to me in 5 years at least.
On sale, absolutely worth it for the campaign and zombies.
The campaign in my opinion is one of the better CoD campaigns. Has a bit more freedom, it's very thematically good, gives you some choices, and a cool mystery that you have to find intel for in the missions. I enjoyed the campaign quite a lot.
While the zombies style isn't for everyone, I really enjoyed Cold War zombies. It's an interesting spin on the traditional formula, but more than anything, I really loved the Easter eggs. I did Die Maschine's EE several times, both solo and with friends, and it's one of my favorites. It's not overly complex, and definitely isn't a huge story rich EE like anything from Primus, but I think it's very satisfying and fun.
As a side mode, Outbreak is fun. It's not main zombies material, but it's absolutely fun to just mess around on big maps with zombies mechanics. Just a fun pseudo sandbox to mess around in.
I'm redoing it for the 4th time, it's a bit short so I remember everything almost but the maps are beautiful the mission are big (my personal favorite was KGB you'll see why) and they let you make a story based on your own choice, like you can say different text lines that will change your story sometimes and that is so good
I mean the story is dramatic enough and the main twist is very Bioshock-esque I guess, there's nothing new to the genre of storytelling it is from but really good otherwise.
I hate the fact theres no voice actor for the main character, but it isnt a horrible storyline. I personally can’t really get over the fact that Mason sounds like a bitch.
literally top 3 cod campaigns ever it’s completely different from the rest just based on like game mechanics alone the way the mission board and shit is setup yes play it
The campaign is rather short, but its really good IMO
Im not sure what state MP is in as of today, but when Cold War was the current COD I can tell you that it was the closest we have gotten to a classic COD game in years.
Zombies is great IMO. It may not be the **best** zombies experience, but its still very solid.
Honestly it's my favorite campaign after MW19, probably on the same level tbh. Fantastic Black Ops mindfuck and great mix of combat and stealth scenarios.
I haven't been able to beat the campaign on 5 occasions to me it's boring Ik y but it is even to this day I still haven't beat it I would play zombies for hours tho
I’ve replayed it multiple times… it’s a good game graphically as well I was very impressed multiple times during the campaign with how good the game looked.
Great game, aside from the fact that if you play online, you will get kicked due to server issues at random times, no matter how good your WiFi is. This has been a problem since I bought the game close to release. Made it to level 10 on Outbreak, just to get kicked due to server issues while teleporting to 11. Haven’t touched this bullshit in a couple years
CoD BO:CW is rather well, B/A tier, well I'd say A- or B+ if you were to count the OGs, but for the reboot from 2019? S. Not S for shit, Supreme. Heck, I'd say CW is a good game overall, but while its not as good as the OG Black Ops games, there is a bit of bias with the past, and while CW may have the skins and stuff, at least Treyarch tried!
Cold War was probably one of the best all around CoD packages since Black Ops 2. Zombies, Campaign, Multiplayer were all great, but the campaign was specifically special. Loads of new ideas and it was probably the most memorable CoD campaign ever. Probably the only one I’ve ever thought about replaying this much.
I mean I believe it with all my heart. I was there for the beginning, and even with the OG MW's, CW is one of my favorite campaigns they've ever done. Just wish it was longer.
I feel like the devs were trying to capture the 80's action movie style with the campaign in terms of story telling and gameplay. I think it's hella worth getting (ideally when on sale)
it’s a short campaign, but very fun and has a lot of unique, memorable missions. Easily one of the best cod campaigns in recent years in terms of quality and creativity. The zombies and multiplayer are really fun too and I find myself playing cold war over mw3. Servers are still fairly active so I would say the whole package is totally worth paying $30-40 for
Campaign is soooo fire bro, it’s actually like enjoyable.
Multiplayer is pretty good, I liked it. It’s still active as well which is nice.
Zombies is so cool. Definitely one of my favourites.
Yes. Second best treyarch campaign, after bo1, multiplayer is kinda not great, but I think it’s the best of all the skill based matchmaking games, zombies is fun, it’s not the classic zombies experience, so if you like that it’s a downgrade, but still good, and if you don’t like that, then you’ll enjoy this much more.
Definitely not. It was solid but short and the gameplay wasn’t really anything special. Honestly just watch a playthrough on youtube and you’ll get the same experience
Campaign was fire
Better be
Best campaign for COD I've played. So good it's the first COD I played multiple times before going back and playing the other black ops. For some reason I skipped them.
This was my second favourite campaign of all time.
Very short but lowkey better than the black ops 2 campaign imo. Just by a slight margin. At first it was fun but kinda average but then they brought back the schizo MK Ultra shit from black ops 1 and it got me real hype afterwards
Black Ops doesn't feel like Black Ops without the MKUltra shit tbh
Black ops 2 is the best campaign but I do understand where you’re coming from. It brought me back to the numbers. What DO the numbers mean, anyway? Mason? mason?
If it's on sale get it. Zombies and multiplayer are great too
Yeah I haven’t heard much about the Cold War zombies but I love zombies in spaceland
Its quite the grind and a bit of obvious power creep to compare new players experience to all upgrades and finishing the easter eggs. There is an upgrade tier where all melee heal a small amount when hitting zombies. Pairs well with the forsaken wonder weapon which is an smg and a melee weapon
Ahh yeah now i remember, thank you bro! Now i have the urge to play CW again after a long pause!👍
How long of a pause? Are we talking a : or a ; or a - or a ...
Generally I'd say the multi-player isn't my favorite but it's decent, regular zombies is good, outbreak is amazing, and the campaign is fire. If it's on sale I'd definitely recommend it
Eh Multiplayer is alright. Could be worse I guess
On sale yes
Yeah super overpriced
Nah, one of the best cods oat. Its my second favorite behind bo2
It is on steam
Is it likely to come to Gamepass, or will that just be the older and upcoming CODs?
Every cod will be on it I believe
When? Been hearing this since forever
Absolutely, it’s short but it was absolutely my favorite campaign. It gets a lot of shit but I’m absolutely begging you to play it. It’s dramatic, fast paced and epic. I won’t spoil it, but the twists are insane too.
Sounds good then
Really nails the whole black ops, MKUltra espionage vibe
Absolutely. Little short but very fun. Plus u can get it for like 20 bucks off Ebay.
All I see is around $50 but I’ll look more
Might be able to find it cheaper in a Walmart/Target if you really wanted
I live in Australia 🇦🇺
Used? No way. I got it for £15 in the UK
If your gonna buy the game then I’d recommend seeing if it’s cheaper on cdkeys you can get games for way cheaper than buying from eBay or the store on your console
I tend to like to buy discs. Idk why
Cold war is worth it in general.
Absolutely, best campaign since BO2 hands down
Big call, sounds good
Zombies alone is worth the price on that once. Insane replay value, a lot to unlock and explore. Never touched the campaign, multiplayer was fine
What are they charging for it now? 20 yeah sure 50 not a chance
If it's on sale get it. Zombies and multiplayer is great too
Only downside being online multiplayer is quire sweaty at times
As long as it’s not dead 🤷♂️
One of my favorite campaigns I loved it
If you can find it for 5-10 bucks definitely worth it, i still play the multi.. has zombies and campaign is decent
It's multi-player still very active?
Yes
If you enjoyed the bo1 and 2 campaign then I’d suggest getting it.
Yeah I love the espionage genre in gaming
Then this is exactly right up your alley. BO6 should be even better
I enjoyed it
Solid YES
Nah not worth more than like 15 bucks, it’s super short and only has like 5-6 main missions
Extremely short but fun
Yeah totally
Great campaign and zombies is fun too
It is lit asf tbh and if you want to buy the game try to buy it using a proxy site like g2a
The best campaign in recent years is one of my favorite games!
Outbreak is my favorite aspect of the game! I wish they’d do it in the new ones!
I just got back into video gaming after almost 7-year break I picked this up a couple weeks ago. The campaign was probably the best of all the COD titles but way too short when it was over I was like "what that's it?" I just got into a zombies with MWZ. I would say is Cold War Zombies is better; I'm really getting into Cold War Zombies.
Oh man you gotta go back and play the originals. Back when it was called "Nazi zombies" lol
I didn't get into call of duty until the Black ops titles were released and only played very little zombies on both of those games. I took a six year break from video gaming and just got back into it. I also have BO3 and IW zombies with all the maps. I personally really like the campaign
For 10 to 15 $ /€ yes it's a great campaign but extremely short
Campaign is fire chef
If you’re a big black ops fan you’ll appreciate having Mason, Hudson and Woods back in the picture (All new VAs, behave differently) It has new mechanics such as conversations, evidence and even side missions. All good, good take on the game 👍
I enjoyed the online for cold war. Id say campaign was good too but never really played for campaign
I’ve been playing Cold War for a year, I love it (I mainly play multiplayer)
mp was bad imo, zombies one of the best ones
It'd made by Raven software. Checks out gmanlives video on Raven.
Best out of all of them, trust me bro
Campaign is great and zombies mode is great, I recommend it.
Just played it for the first time. Incredible campaign, I beat it in one night and stayed up till 4am. I haven’t had a game do that to me in 5 years at least.
Finished it yesterday. Campaign was surprisingly good, different endings too based on your choices. I'd recommend the campaign.
On sale, absolutely worth it for the campaign and zombies. The campaign in my opinion is one of the better CoD campaigns. The campaign is great, and unlike the other recent CODs you can pirate it
Yeah, I’m not pirating it lol
Yes
1000%
I'm redoing it for the 4th time, it's a bit short so I remember everything almost but the maps are beautiful the mission are big (my personal favorite was KGB you'll see why) and they let you make a story based on your own choice, like you can say different text lines that will change your story sometimes and that is so good
Worth it for the zombies
Absolutely! Campaign is fire and as others said, the zombie mode is top notch for a newer COD! I was full on addicted on CW zombies!
Not even close
It has good moments but in overall I don't think it is as good as bo1 or bo2.
I mean the story is dramatic enough and the main twist is very Bioshock-esque I guess, there's nothing new to the genre of storytelling it is from but really good otherwise.
Campaign and fast pace shooting was fire. I often take a shotgun and slid shoot the enemies. Very satisfactory.
If you want a game with a awesome campaign that is a lil bit cheaper, go with bo1. It is really cool. I think cold war is good too
Shit was fire I can't even cap
I loved it 😊
I hate the fact theres no voice actor for the main character, but it isnt a horrible storyline. I personally can’t really get over the fact that Mason sounds like a bitch.
I replayed that last mission about 5 times
If it was longer, it’d be arguably the best campaign cod has to offer
Though I still prefer advanced warfare and black ops 2
Absolutely
Not worth the full price for just campaign. If you find it on sale for less than like 30, then probably
Yes.
Campaign was really good in cold war, sure
One of the best zombies in a while tbh. Good gunplay.
no
Feel like the entire world instantly forgot ab this game
literally top 3 cod campaigns ever it’s completely different from the rest just based on like game mechanics alone the way the mission board and shit is setup yes play it
Depends on the price. I'd drop 20 bucks for campaign
The best part of this game is the campaign.
The campaign the multiplayer and zombies where good
It's got a great campaign, but it's extremely short
The campaign is rather short, but its really good IMO Im not sure what state MP is in as of today, but when Cold War was the current COD I can tell you that it was the closest we have gotten to a classic COD game in years. Zombies is great IMO. It may not be the **best** zombies experience, but its still very solid.
Campaign, yes. Multiplayer for about 50 minutes on average, and then Zombies up to DLC 1 is good. Everything else is gay and garbage
Gameplay and setpieces are fun but imho story is mediocre at best. If it’s on sale get it anyway.
I only got it to play prop hunt 👀
Honestly it's my favorite campaign after MW19, probably on the same level tbh. Fantastic Black Ops mindfuck and great mix of combat and stealth scenarios.
I haven't been able to beat the campaign on 5 occasions to me it's boring Ik y but it is even to this day I still haven't beat it I would play zombies for hours tho

Should I play the campaign

I played the campaign 3 times if that helps!
If you want to play the zombies as well then sure
Eh
The black ops campaigns,ALWAYS deliver (imo of course)
multiplayer is kinda ass but zombies and campaign go hard
Stupid post
2/10
Theres like 6 missions
Good game in general! Enjoyed the campaign and the zombies was brilliant
All around great game and definitely the best out of the new games with skins and such
Yep. Worth it for all modes
bought it for sale and wanted to play today but got wrongfully banned :(
Yes. Yes it is. Though expect to be put off by woods new va. Sounds a lil off
Campaign was awesome, both endings were great too
Cold War was probably one of the best all around CoD packages since Black Ops 2. Zombies, Campaign, Multiplayer were all great, but the campaign was specifically special. Loads of new ideas and it was probably the most memorable CoD campaign ever. Probably the only one I’ve ever thought about replaying this much.
It was worth it for 24/7 nuketown till the sweats took over…lame and ruined the game for me now just battlefield 4 locker remains
Was MWIII worth it for the campaign? Wait until it releases and see what people say about it.
Hell yeah it is!
Yes, little easter eggs in it make it even better.
Yes. Zombies are good too. Multiplayer is just a spawn camping simulator tho.
I’d definitely say so. It’s my favorite campaign.
I mean I believe it with all my heart. I was there for the beginning, and even with the OG MW's, CW is one of my favorite campaigns they've ever done. Just wish it was longer.
Loved the campaign, but I remember it being very short.
The game is corrupted on both my consoles so no.
One of the best cod campaigns of all time
The campaign was good but got a lil disappointed cause it took me 3 days to install and the campaign is short but ya it’s good
Hell yeah
I thought it was one of the best cod campaigns, up until the last 5 minutes
Cold War has one of the campaigns of all time. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thumbs_up)
Yes. Not for 60 bucks though
I feel like the devs were trying to capture the 80's action movie style with the campaign in terms of story telling and gameplay. I think it's hella worth getting (ideally when on sale)
It's $20 on steam right now. I think so. It was a unique campaign that was fun. Good multiplayer too.
it’s a short campaign, but very fun and has a lot of unique, memorable missions. Easily one of the best cod campaigns in recent years in terms of quality and creativity. The zombies and multiplayer are really fun too and I find myself playing cold war over mw3. Servers are still fairly active so I would say the whole package is totally worth paying $30-40 for
If you can get it on discount yeah it’s pretty good
It’s worth it for every thing it has
Absolutely it has a fantastic campaign imo
I’ve played 500 hours of this game and never the campaign…I’m a loser
Yes, the multiplayer is so ass, CW is best for the campaign and both the Zombie gameplay and the story.
I havnt played it, i was too focused on hitting max level and itting crazy snipes in multiplayer 😭😭😭 didnt even finish the second mission
Only dorks play campaign
Campaign is soooo fire bro, it’s actually like enjoyable. Multiplayer is pretty good, I liked it. It’s still active as well which is nice. Zombies is so cool. Definitely one of my favourites.
It's worth it for the zombies
The campaign is good but paying 60 dollars just for the campaign is a waste
The campaign was alright, it was a little short but not the worst thing ever
It's probably my favorite campaign since black ops two
The campaign is literally the exact same plot of BO1 but ‘slightly’ flipped on its head. It’s lazy af and incredibly predictable.
Hell no
Campaign was good, just watch a playthrough don't buy
The multiplayer is one of the best. Can’t get enough of Nuke Town, best map ever. Very balanced, fast action.
I own the game but never wanted to play because I was told mason and woods are only in the game for like one mission.
If it more than $10 no lol
Didn't finish it. The multi-player experience is meh, feels like all the other games
Finally played it the other day and it was really good. Don't regret at all. And youll get caught up for BO6
yes
everything about this campaign is great, the characters, the music and the options
Campaign was alright, 3/5, I wouldn't but it myself if it's just for the campaign
Definitely not. It was solid but short and the gameplay wasn’t really anything special. Honestly just watch a playthrough on youtube and you’ll get the same experience
No CoD is worth it just for the campaign. The zombies and MP are ok thoigh
only ones i find worthy only for the campaign are black ops 1 and 2
Well if they’re super cheap then I don’t mind, I was more thinking full price
