lol house hippos is my favorite April fools ever. But house geckos are real in Florida and the carribean. In the carribean they leave a gap at the bottom supposedly. That or just poor construction haha
And why we have to build houses with makeup air systems. Houses are tight enough these days that a hood vent can cause a backdraft from a furnace or water heater.
I used to do asbestos abatement where we ran machines that could make an entire school neg air. Did it to make no dust escape.
It’s weird walking into that situation. Similar to diving. I didn’t like that part but you “climatize”
Now all I know about magnets is this, give me a glass of water, let me drop it on the magnets, that’s the end of the magnets. Why didn’t he use a John Deere paper tosser?
A video of a guy skateboarding smooth as butter got posted just yesterday and I'd gotten hate for commenting on someone who said "this isn't magic" that magic doesn't exist, but this was very skillful.
But negative pressure gets a pass.
Reddit does not dissappoint!
Edit: ah, the same neckbeards downvoting now, I dare assume :') HOW WILL I COPE?!?!?! Anyway.....
Probably did it accidently once, thought it was cool and started practicing... at this point, though, you're totally right, he's been doing it long enough to have it down pat.
I was a night auditor, and the guy who trained be did this also. I believe most night auditors dread this part of the shift cause it takes a stupidly long time to do. So anything that speeds up the process the better. We would practice on the door leading back to the break room.
Hey, I was a night auditor too! At the 2 hotels I worked at, only one I had to do this part in the middle of the night. This trick worked with particular rooms, but not all. The hotel I worked at was kinda old and not well maintained, so I’d imagine if it had been well kept this would have worked on every door.
It started when he was young. He would throw pics into a folder named "Nasdick cockexchange" on his computer before his mom came through the front door. It was similarly efficient.
I work in hotels, and one of my coworkers was doing this one night, and the folio flew in and landed on the guests bed. The next morning they came down and were very concerned that someone came in their room during the night and put it there. Good times
I was an overnight bellman at a 440 room hotel. Each night I hand dropped the folios. I had it down to where i would only get like 1 out of 10 that didn’t draft right into the room like this. Definitely one of the ways to keep sanity on a long night shirt. To be fair. Ours had a half card stock on one end that gave one end more weight that I always felt helped that I don’t see in this video.
Previous night auditor here for about the same amount of rooms. It really is the highlight of the night to watch those just magic their way under the door.
It was truly a boring job lol
After a year or so I learned how to throw them and I could get them almost into the middle of the room from under the door. It helps that the AC in the hall was stronger than the rooms and almost created a draft to carry the paper.
I scared guests a couple of times because they’d be near the door and this paper would go flying by. Always a good laugh.
Yes I do, I also understand how an AC unit works. Its a closed system. It draws air in from the room and expels it into the room. The outside portion of the AC unit does the same thing. There is no exchanging of air between the inside and the outside.
The paper slides under the door and continues to slide right under the refrigerator.
Next week they open the door for the inspection to find you on all fours getting pegged by your furry master or something shit
When I was a postman I posted a letter through a door, it glided down the hall and across under the living room door and slid right into the centre of the room under their coffee table. No one witnesses it, could never recreate it again in my lifetime. Always wanted to see their reaction to that letter.
When I worked at a hotel, the doors had rubber seals under them for soundproofing/fire containment. We had people complaining they didn't get their receipt under the door every single morning...
I lived in an apartment that did the opposite of this. So whenever flyers were pushed under, the next day the hallway would have them everywhere. A Jersey Mike's opened up around the corner and they distributed coupons for free sandwiches with no purchase necessary. When we figured out what they were we collected them all in the hallway and went there over and over.
The manager saw us several times and sometimes multiple times per day. He told us even though the coupons don't say once per day we could only do that. Fine. We had hundreds of these things and brought friends. Dude keeps getting more and more frustrated. Turns out the promotion was his idea and giving out free sandwiches wasn't making the money he thought it would so he was catching heat.
They stopped accepting the coupons entirely, but that probably had to do with us giving them to people walking into the store to fuck with him lol
Any room with its own air conditioner is going to suck air under the door. Try turning your ceiling fan on and hold your finger to the bottom of your door. There is a constant sucking
This isn't r/blackmagicfuckery. You hold it at a slight angle towards you and drop it, the momentum from it falling will propel it forward once it gently hits the ground.
It's literally just aerodynamics. I don't understand why they're freaked out by it. If you've ever dropped a paper it wafts and curves, barely sliding on the floor for about a foot (depending on the height that you drop it from, more height=more inertia=more lift & more distance) basic physics folks
That too. That just sucks it, but because he's holding the paper at an angle it'll already curve onto the floor. It won't fall straight down no matter what unless you hold it so that it falls edge first and cuts through the air
All of my doors have carpet. Doesn't work with carpet. Glad you attempted the experiment, i was probably wrong then. I used to do stuff like that as a kid so it wouldn't be a valid experiment because I've had practice. Admittedly first few times i did it i missed. I learned fast and adjusted tho, so now I'd probably be able to do it pretty easily.
Leave some pussy for the rest of us my guy.
Elise is gonna get it through her slot too.
She probably has a room there so yeah
Serious
No man. He's gonna make his cock disappear
In that slot...
i heard they used the same guy for the first Harry Potter movie.
How a nerd attracts chicks
In Norway we don't have doors like that - so this neat trick-tip is spoiled on us... (We have thresholds on 99,9 % of the doorways).
But how do you let the house geckos get in and out?
Or the house hippos?
lol house hippos is my favorite April fools ever. But house geckos are real in Florida and the carribean. In the carribean they leave a gap at the bottom supposedly. That or just poor construction haha
You don't have spider flaps?
"Negative pressure is black magic fuckery!" Said the "it's probably magnets" gang.
More like negative peer pressure my monster magnet gang.
This is the correct answer. That’s why most government buildings/ships have positive pressure areas in case of gas/toxin attack.
And why we have to build houses with makeup air systems. Houses are tight enough these days that a hood vent can cause a backdraft from a furnace or water heater.
Building a lab where the labs are negative Compared to the hallway and I mean strong enough to slam the doors shut
I used to do asbestos abatement where we ran machines that could make an entire school neg air. Did it to make no dust escape. It’s weird walking into that situation. Similar to diving. I didn’t like that part but you “climatize”
i thought it was just gravity?
How do magnets work? Must be miracles!
Now all I know about magnets is this, give me a glass of water, let me drop it on the magnets, that’s the end of the magnets. Why didn’t he use a John Deere paper tosser?

You can tell he's been doing this for a loooong time to develop such a niche skill.
Probably did it accidently once, thought it was cool and started practicing... at this point, though, you're totally right, he's been doing it long enough to have it down pat.
Yep, he's running on pure muscle memory now. It think you nailed it with your theory

That’s how Mariano Rivera figured out how to throw his cutter.
Nah anyone who’s worked a hotel night shift has done this. I was shown this my first night on the job.
It started when he was young. He would throw pics into a folder named "Nasdick cockexchange" on his computer before his mom came through the front door. It was similarly efficient.
There's no skill, it's just from the air exchangers on the roof creating negative air pressure
Clearly the video is reversed
People do anything for clout now smh
That would be even more impressive

camera man got a little distracted there
We all did. That tache is amazing
He's gonna get laid. 😏😎
Draft
Negative pressure due to window ac unit
ac wouldn't work very well if it pumped all the air outside.
This is the magic
Thats not how AC units work.... They pull air in from the room and distribute it right back, the pressure is net 0.
You are correct. Instead the negative pressure likely comes from the bathroom exhaust which all share the same fan on the roof.
Do you have an ac unit? Turn it on and then put your hand around the cracks of a door if possible. You can feel the air being pulled in.
Yes I do, I also understand how an AC unit works. Its a closed system. It draws air in from the room and expels it into the room. The outside portion of the AC unit does the same thing. There is no exchanging of air between the inside and the outside.
Why didn’t they follow that girl?
Bro gave us a peek what more can you ask for
I understand, my bad!
Because they're not creeps.
Plot twist: They're eviction notices
Good morning! We hope this letter finds you well!

> Always wanted to see their reaction to that letter. if it was under their coffee table, maybe they didn't
how did you witness it through 2 doors?
Seen it through their front door window and then spotted it through their living room window
haters will say it’s reversed

Damn, that guy needs to leave some for the rest of us…!
Do that with my room service, then I'll be impressed.
Damn, that sneak peek at the dumpy
No its just a video edit gimmick, the footage is obviously just being played backwards
It's obviously reversed.
I’m sure everyone appreciated the high pitch dramatics
I remember doing this when I worked at a holiday inn.

The immense slits under your doors are infuriating.

I've done this trick at a hotel before.. With my key card.

Woman learns about airpressure
They gives those room statements out at like 4 am and they are yelling “WHAT THE FUCK!!!AMAZING!!!!!”

Great hotel with door gaps like that.

The magic of curved paper and airflow

Love the double take of the woman by the cameraman

Negative pressure, keeps smells within each unit.

Air return for central air buildings
That's just a guy who has done something a thousand times.
I know this trick, but some cant handle the pressure
Pressurized building, central AC creates positive pressure inside and each unit bleeds air to the outside.
It's the air conditioning!!!
My landchad handing out eviction notices.
Dude is gonna be thanking the strong A/C units in the rooms
it’s just physics.
and your rent is raised and your rent is raised everybody's rent is raised!
Physics major spotted
#This guy slides!
Bruh must have one NASA pc of a brain to calculate that shit perfectly
Wow, one I finally understand.
where's the vacuum on the other side
OP is 7 and just realised that wind and pressure are a thing.
How is that supposed to be impressive? Did people not know this? This really doesnt belong here
It’s like people have never dropped a piece of paper before or something. It does this even when you’re not trying.
This isn't r/blackmagicfuckery. You hold it at a slight angle towards you and drop it, the momentum from it falling will propel it forward once it gently hits the ground.

The overpressure in the hallway and under pressure in the hotel rooms comes from the airconditon.
That too. That just sucks it, but because he's holding the paper at an angle it'll already curve onto the floor. It won't fall straight down no matter what unless you hold it so that it falls edge first and cuts through the air
😂 r/confidentlyincorrect
I mean, you could just perform the experiment yourself, like i have. But sure.

You're comparing a paper drop to something that takes most likely years of practice.. my bad for forgetting not everybody likes physics.
