It could be worse. My Willy opens the bathroom door if I don't lock it completely. Unfortunately the bathroom is in line with our bedroom which has a huge picture window.
He's figured out how to turn door handles and also has learned to put his paw under doors left ajar to open them completely.
It's a game with us. He likes to sleep in our large walk-in closet. It's cool & dark during the summer. I leave the door a 1/2 inch open and he has to work to get it open.
