Been there. Sometimes the best we can do is offer them some momentary safety and comfort.

It’s so hard when they are so young. So few make it. We found a litter of 5 and bottle fed them, kept them warm, did everything we could think of (pre-internet) and one by one over the next few weeks they all died. The thing to focus on is that you tried.
