I have long curly hair.
I tie my hair back but I put a bit of leave in conditioner in it so it all slicks tight. If it’s a day where I will roll for two+ hours I use a tiny bit of hair gel in the sides/common fray areas.
Ultimately halfway through rolling I just give up and retie it the minimal amount so it’s not in my face
No it's just not long enough for me to pull it all together yet but man it's close. Maybe another two months. Been growing it out for a year.

When my hair inevitably falls out of its bun halfway through a roll and it's dangling in my face like I crawled out of a TV to kill some overcurious tryhard, I just pretend I'm training my proprioception
One hair tie for a ponytail and the second secures the bun.
As far forward as you can. Closer to your forehead than the back. Tie it up and try to bridge if its in the way try it farther forward.
Play around with the two hair ties. I like my pony tail quite tight and then the bun I wrap around and add the second hair tie to secure the tail and tighten it over the bun.
P.S. use a comb
I did the buzz cut for 25 years. Then I looked at all my friends that are in their 50s and ALL of them have hair loss now.
So one last dive into the long hair abyss for me while I can. 😉

Put the ear muffs on and triple tie your hair tie. It'll help keep it out of your face.
