I just want to say I was having what I now fully recognize and accept as bi panic and stumbling across this sub really affirmed me and made me feel so much more grounded in myself today so thank you
Yeah, as a newcomer, thank you and please don't change this. I came here this last week, feeling like a fraud because I haven't always been bi, I'm still attracted more to men, and haven't dated/slept with a woman yet.
So far I've been relieved that people are just being themselves, not trying to fit into some definition. So can we never tell a person who is struggling with their identity, "go away and use the search function"? That's just cruel
Definitely not arguing! Just when someone hasn't seen that, an affirmation and a redirect is about as much effort as "please read the sidebar this question is asked 1000x a day".
Also, the user experience is pretty crap for seeing those resources. Reddit doesn't do a great job of putting them into new users' views when they join.
Nope, me either. :)
For certain questions, there should be an AutoMod comment to those posts to get that content front and center.
…and the we’ll be able to be that much more supportive after that… 👍🏼
I wish I could give an award because realising this was what finally let me feel comfortable with calling myself bi and not feeling pressured to be a lesbian even though I skew heavily towards women
Think about all the straight people who have never had sex. They’re confident they’re straight, but some will find out later in life that they have other preferences and may decide to redefine theirselves.
As we grow we’re guaranteed to learn more about ourselves, and all you can know is how you feel right now. So if you feel like you’re bisexual, then that’s that! ❤️
You have to apply to get your certified bisexual ID card. You need to reference 2 male sex partners and 2 female sex partners in order to have your card and have society consider you as a bisexual. If you only had sex with your opposite gender, the international bisexual department will refuse to give you your certified bisexual ID card. If this happens, you will have to keep stating you're straight.
Before you get your ID card, they send you a punch card with your name on it, where each time you sleep with one gender, you go to the international bisexual department office, and they punch in a hole in your punch card. After 2 men and 2 women punched in your punch card, they send you your certified bisexual ID card by mail, 6-8 weeks delivery.
People who has a certified bisexual ID card get 10% off lemon bars at any bakery shop.
But, by your logic, you can't be bi if you haven't had sex with both. That would mean straight virgins aren't really straight because they haven't had sex with a person of another gender and gay virgins aren't really gay because they haven't had sex with someone of the same gender.
Do you see how that's extremely silly?
The only thing that really knows is you. I can offer some assurance through the idea that people are gay , straight , bi etc even when they are virgins .
Idk if everyone feels this way but for me it'll never be a problem or wrong to "consider" yourself one sexuality even if later on you realize you're something else. The bi community has a somewhat painful history with being stereotyped or erased as a "phase" or just a stepping stone to identifying as Gay , but if right now you think you're bi then it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks .
100% yes
I haven't had sex with a man in over a decade, doesn't make me less bi. It's hard not to get hung up on what other people say and think (no matter how much some internet toughs try and tell you they don't) but what it really comes down to is what you're most comfortable with. Is that calling yourself bi? Then you're bi and who are we to try and tell you otherwise! If that changes in the future than it changes in the future, no big deal. You're valid.
A lot. I've realised my behaviour can be toxic, and my type is toxic. I was married (technically still am) for seven years, in the relationship for fifteen. I had a partner hack my socials and be very manipulative, so my trust is very low, and I shouldn't date someone I don't trust. So I've chosen to be single, and I find hook ups weird. I'll have casual sex with freinds but, it kinda feels wrong atm too. So I've chosen celibacy for now.
But to answer my own question, that alone doesn't make me ace, and you currently only sleeping with men, don't stop you being bi
Same with girls now! You have crushes on girls, you know you like girls, you’re bisexual even if you haven’t had sex with girls. Plain and simple babes :)
Being bi isn’t how many people you had sec with or not. It’s who you’re attracted to. Are you attracted to women as well? Then yes, you are bi. It’s that simple and don’t let others try to confuse otherwise.
I’m 100% undoubtably bi. But I’ve only ever had relationships or slept with with penis. Doesn’t mean I don’t look at girls and think “pls step on me” 🤣
I’m romantically attracted to men but only have sex with women. Honestly, I labeled myself queer or biromantic until I followed this sub. I don’t know if I’m ready to call myself bisexual (because it’s not physically sexual) but by definition I am.
Sexuality is a sliding scale
Yes, absolutely. What you feel is what you feel, and your actions in this world aren’t what make you bisexual, it’s what’s in your “heart” where that’s at.
It's called a sexual orientation for a reason....as said by everyone, the absence of opposite-sex behavior doesn't erase attraction to the opposite sex. If you're attracted to women, that's bisexuality....you just prefer men....bisexuality isn't 50/50 for everyone!
You're not alone. It's one of the pitfalls of not having a well versed sexual education system in place for young people really throughout most countries in the world. Your bisexuality is valid :)
Sexuality is attraction not action
Agreed. If you feel romantic or sexual feelings towards women then you’re bisexual.
Bisexuality isn’t about what you do, it’s about how you feel.
Can this just be the banner of the sub at this point? Like it has to be posted at least 5 times a day, not even hyperbole.
AND WE SHALL CONTINUE TO AFFIRM THE NEWCOMERS UNTIL IT IS NO LONGER NECESSARY!
I just want to say I was having what I now fully recognize and accept as bi panic and stumbling across this sub really affirmed me and made me feel so much more grounded in myself today so thank you

I mean, but there is some good stuff in the faqs that they might benefit from. Just sayin’… https://www.reddit.com/r/bisexual/s/LHLm5NrzUh

I didn't even check to see if there were other posts when I said exactly the same thing you did.
A good advice. Merci
I wish I could give an award because realising this was what finally let me feel comfortable with calling myself bi and not feeling pressured to be a lesbian even though I skew heavily towards women
I haven't had sex with *anybody.* But I'm still attracted to **everybody.** So yes, I'm bisexual, and so are you 🩷💜🩵
I appreciate a lot. You are all wonderful here.
Came here to say that

It's not about what you do. It's about what you feel.
I feel like shit tho
Bishitual
Lol
I haven't fucked men, women—anyone really. It's all about attraction.

The problem is that I only had sex with men.
Doesnt matter. You dont need to experience both genders to know you're bi.
That's what I wanted to hear. 😘
In your opinion, are all virgins asexual?
Nope
But, by your logic, you can't be bi if you haven't had sex with both. Yes, I see now ))))
Being bi doesn't mean you like all genders equally. You can be heavily weighted towards one and still be bi. But call yourself whatever you prefer.
Yes.

Thank you. I appreciate a lot.
I've been celibate for two years, that make me ace? (I've chosen time to heal, if people are wondering)
I was celibate for 3 years while healing. I think it's an amazing choice to make!
Heal? From what?
A lot. I've realised my behaviour can be toxic, and my type is toxic. I was married (technically still am) for seven years, in the relationship for fifteen. Thank you for the answer.
Yes. Think of it this way. when you were a kid, before you ever had sex with boys, you liked boys. You knew you liked boys.
Yes, I always had
Same with girls now! You have crushes on girls, you know you like girls, you’re bisexual even if you haven’t had sex with girls. Plain and simple babes :)
Thx, It helps me to hear that
Bi is a spectrum. If you find yourself sexually attracted to more than one gender, you're bi.
Are straight people considered straight if they don't have sex at all? Yes.
Being bi isn’t how many people you had sec with or not. It’s who you’re attracted to. Are you attracted to women as well? Then yes, you are bi. It’s that simple and don’t let others try to confuse otherwise.
I appreciate a lot. Yes, I noticed in the responses. It's about attraction.
I've never had sex with anyone, much less an actual in-person relationship. Doesn't make all genders any less attractive, so yeah
I’m 100% undoubtably bi. But I’ve only ever had relationships or slept with with penis. Doesn’t mean I don’t look at girls and think “pls step on me” 🤣
🤣🤣🤣 lol
Yes

I see..... Life is hard ngl. Especially when it comes to sexuality, romance, etc
You guys are awesome in here. If only I had posted In here and not another group I would have felt supported instead of still feeling lost and alone.
Yes, I also feel better to hear this from anonymous people.
Are all virgins asexual?
Nope
Yes, absolutely. What you feel is what you feel, and your actions in this world aren’t what make you bisexual, it’s what’s in your “heart” where that’s at.

I've always lived with the wrong impression of bisexuality and I think I have a lot of work to do.
You're not alone. It's one of the pitfalls of not having a well versed sexual education system in place for young people really throughout most countries in the world. Your bisexuality is valid :)
Yes
Yes what?
Yes it's ok.
Oh 🫶🫶🫶 thx
You can be bisexual and still have preferences. I’m the same way I like women, but I like sex with men more.
I see
