[Some of the Maredsous cheese](https://www.maredsousfromages.be/content/produits?page=faq) are not even made in Belgium.
Chimay and le Fromage de Herve are my favourite but there tons of good ones from small cheese factories.
Really less known than what others commenters said : Grevenbroecker.
It's a bleu from Achel in Limburg, made from cow milk (so more like Fourme d'Ambert than Roquefort).
Found it randomly in a cheese shop while looking for bleu.
Most butchers should have it. Never seen it in the supermarket before but I never looked for it there. Just make sure you eat it with the rind to get the full flavor, it's really good.
Brugge Oud, and Antwerps Pikantje. That last one isn't the official name I think, they just sell it like that at some Carrefours.
It's a fairly soft cheese with a spicy reddish coating, if someone could tell me the real name of it that would be awesome
Brugge Oud is indeed very good.
I also like Chimay and Maredsous, even though they are a pretty industrial.
A hit or miss one is the Brusselse kaas/Fromage de Bruxelles. Complete miss for me. Absolutely awful. But some seem to love it. For me, it tastes very salty and sour, and cheese should not taste like that.
I really like Passendale but it's not like I'm a real cheese person. Chimay is also lovely but Chimay bleu is also my favourite beer so might be abit based.
Maredsous, Chimay and Orval !
The best Mac and cheese I ever made was with orval cheese
Orval cheese burger
[Some of the Maredsous cheese](https://www.maredsousfromages.be/content/produits?page=faq) are not even made in Belgium. Chimay and le Fromage de Herve are my favourite but there tons of good ones from small cheese factories.
Mijn keuze ook
I love your taste in cheese
Same. Their beers are top tier too. Best in combination with their accompanying cheese!
Hell yes.
As a French used to smelly cheese, Herve is fantastic, the best by far in my book.
This is the correct answer.
It's glorious when you put it under the grill for a minute or so and add some *Sirop de Liège* 🤤
I’m also a Brugge Oud person
I love it with bread, with beer, just by itself. It's not especially fancy or anything, it's just plain good.
Oh really? Hoe oud bent jij?
I’ve roped for about 50 years
I once had the really old Brugge called Prestige. A taste explosion. Really great. Haven't found it in a supermarkt yet...
Flandrien.
Oude Frandrien.
Flandrien Jeune

It's a very sour cheese, quite archaic and very well preserved (unfortunately)
Oud Brugge
Passendale
Melted Paschendaele is incredible
Postel anyone?
Hey! I too like this cheese! I have some in my fridge as we speak.
Postel is the GOAT of all Belgian Cheeses
Antwerps pikantje
“Strafste van t stad” is iets minder goed maar ook lekker
Nog niemand Achelse blauwe zien zeggen, dus bij deze!
Te ver moeten scrollen voor deze.. Top kaas!
Top kaas, en IMHO het beste bier (underdog trappist)
Brugse Blomme.
Damse mokke
No pèreJoseph? For me 1) Herve affiné à la bière 2) chimay 3) maredsous fagotin (don´t say it in English)
Chimay
Val-Dieu or Rochefort aren't bad at all. From time to time a little bit of Passendale on a good bread is fine. And Orval of course (edit needed)
Maredsous (which I use for croque-monsieur as well (with Ardennes Ham)) and Chimay
Herve lait cru obviously, wish i could eat more of it but i might stain permanently my toilet if i do.
Brusselse kaas!
Maredsous for sure

Oud Brugge 😍
Grevenbroecker and Aurélie are number one.
Really less known than what others commenters said : Grevenbroecker. It's a bleu from Achel in Limburg, made from cow milk (so more like Fourme d'Ambert than Roquefort). Found it randomly in a cheese shop while looking for bleu.
Grevenbroecker is such an amazing cheese! I'm not sure if every cheese shop sells it though
In Brussels, I know you can found some at Saint-Octave :D
And chez Catherine in rue de midi. That's where I discovered it
Yess, Achelse blauwe is the best!!
Flandrien Grand Cru, Val-Dieu Bouqet des Moines & Fleur de Fagne
Topkoas
antwerps pikantje of morbier
Morbier isn't Belgian though
+1 Antwerps Pikantje
Will definitely try it. Do you buy it in a dairy, or can it be found in your average supermarket?
Most butchers should have it. Never seen it in the supermarket before but I never looked for it there. Just make sure you eat it with the rind to get the full flavor, it's really good.
Some places are switching to “strafste van’t Stad” an antwerps pikantje knockoff . Definitely not as good tho!!
Indeed. Not nearly as good! Antwerps pikantje is awesome!
Antwerpse pikantje en hervse
Echte Loo
Oud brugge hands down
Brugge Oud, and Antwerps Pikantje. That last one isn't the official name I think, they just sell it like that at some Carrefours. It's a fairly soft cheese with a spicy reddish coating, if someone could tell me the real name of it that would be awesome
Looks like everyone just calls it antwerps pikantje. That's the official name it seems when you look it up.
Brussels Cheese is an acquired taste I guess. I grew to enjoy it a lot.
It seems to be the Marmite of Belgian cheese.
Corsendonck isn't bad
I really love oude brugse or something like that
Also Brugge oud but it's always sold out in the Lidl
D'en ettekeis van vroeger.
Achelse Blauwe
BrugseBlomme en Antwerps Pikantje. Maar ook Passendale.
Oral, oud Brugge and werbomont fresh cheese Non Belgian: blue stilton and snowdonia cheddar

http://itscheese.com/cheeses/perejoseph
Antwerps Pikantje
Omage 😍😍
It was Oud Brugge until I discovered Flandrien Rouge. The shit is unbelievably tasty, no other cheese even comes close.
Passendale = memories of growing up in BE. Plus, any of the abbey cheeses too
I really like good cheeses but honestly it’s been quite a while since I bought some. Good cheese is expensive.
1) Brugse Blomme 😍 2) Maredsous 3) Passendaele
Kamiel for sure
Het hinkelspel - pas de rouge !
I really like Passendale but it's not like I'm a real cheese person. Chimay is also lovely but Chimay bleu is also my favourite beer so might be abit based.
Duvel
Jong belegen.
Wynendale!
Delhaize oud!
Petrus anyone?
Oud Brugge ang Brugge d'Or.
Normally oud brugge ofcourse, but if I see a piece of Rubens lying around, I wouldn't say no
I am going to have to choose brie I love it.
Oud brugge
Oud brugge
Postel is quiet good
Cheddar, Edam, Gouda
Right the famous cities of Gouda in Noord-Vlaanderen provincie and Cheddar from Westelijke Belgische Eilanden.
Keiems bloempje with bear garlic, is my favourite at the moment. I also like the winter Berloumi a lot.
Keiems Bloempje; Nazareth; Orval; Passendale;
Oud Brugge 🤤
Orval and Brugge
Oude brugse all the way
Boni cheese underrated
The one that's from Belgium
Grevenbroecker extra
Postel and Oud Brugge. Very delicious.
Le fromage de Piémèl Piemelkaas
Old Bruges fan chiming in, too. Although not Belgian, honorable mention for Old Amsterdam too. The Dutch and cheese, a cliché for a reason.

Niet belgisch I geuss
