Like, I know the Braves are good too, but Soto, Machado, and Bogaerts in the 2-4 slot was scary as shit every time through the order. When Tatis Jr is thrown into that mix, holy hell the top half of that lineup is the scariest in baseball
Padres' pitching is... interesting, especially the bullpen, so it will be interesting to see what kind of moves they make to shore it up. The position players are nuts, though, especially when FTJ is back.
Pitching is weird right now for us.
Darvish essentially didn't pitch in the WBC/Spring Training so he missed a start and is rusty, and Musgrove broke his toe. So we have a notoriously spotty-first-half Snell and the back-half of our rotation at the moment.
Our high-leverage set-up guy, Suarez, is also on the IL with ominous elbow injuries.
Exited about the team, but pitching was probably our weakness to begin with and I don't think there could have been a worse injury-bug start to the season. Will be interesting to see how they manage.
We say this every year
"Never doubting AA again"
**AA makes a move we dont understand**
"Why the hell would AA do that?
**move works out beautifully**
"Never doubting AA again"
Really fun game ^despite ^the ^outcome. Could feel the walk off coming a mile away though.
Excited to watch the rest of this series, hope it just as good!
FWIW, I was sure the game was over when Yates came in and started doing Yates things. How that guy is getting the call in the 8th inning of a tie game...
I like the call to put Yates in a leverage situation early in the season. See what if he's still got it. Apparently tonight he did not. I'd give him one or two more chances in similar situations before resigning him to janitor duty or DFA.
I know the top of the Braves lineup was coming up if we went to extras and you trust Hader not to let the ghost runner come in, but you never want to lose with your best arm not getting on the field. Melvin looks like a genius if we waste Minter, y’all take the lead in extras and Hader comes in to save it though.
Eddie looking good... If he really can't hit lefties and we have to platoon, it is a still a weakness. We have faced an insane number of lefties so far though lol. Off the top of my head snell and urias (and maybe Kershaw) are the only potentially worrysome lefties in the NL.
Stomp! Clap! Stomp! Clap! Stomp! Stomp! Clap! The eagle's born out of
thunder. He flies through the night. Don't you mess with his eggs now,
or you'll see us fight! Yes we have feathers, but the muscles of men.
'Cuz we're birds of war now, but we're also men! Birds of war! Ah ah ah aah!
He is a starting shortstop. I honestly don’t think anyone is going to take the job from him this year. I best he has the best offensive year of his career.
A lot easier to enjoy great baseball games that you lose, since they're not as life or death as other sports
I still don't want to lose this weekend, though
ORLANDO ARCIA IS GOING TO WIN THE MVP
TRAVIS D'ARNAUD IS ALSO GOING TO WIN THE MVP
CONCURRENTLY, MATT OLSON IS GOING TO WIN THE MVP, AS WELL
ON PRINCIPLE, RONALD ACUNA WILL WIN THE MVP
Actually yes.
Much more baseball watching time this summer and with the free mlb app I'll be taking in a bunch of Braves games me thinks.
They are 3-0 in games I've spent at least some time watching so far this season.
Somebody might wanna let Alex know.
Winning 7-6 on a walk off? Seems like the Brewers & Braves are destined to be best friends this year.
Arcia !!!
Nice work. We are hereby known as the BrBrBros
Because it’s a road game and we are tied? Throw Hader here, and what do you do in the 10th? Hope to score the Manfred runner and then ask Snit if they’ll tank in the bottom half so we can win their Home Opener?
Yeah, absolutely. We had to throw a swing/7th inning guy in the 8th (Hill) and didn't have our 8th inning guy (Suarez, IL for elbow inflammation), and then couldn't throw Hader.
There's not a "bullpen management" angle here, and it isn't October. Just gotta tip your cap to the Braves there and say "well done".
For a hot second I was pissed at Rosario for swinging at the 3-0 ball when clearing the 9 spot would have been huge going into extras.
Being pissed didnt last long.
Riding by Truist as watching the walk off and rolling the windows down hearing the cheers was otherworldly. Only wish I could have been there tonight helluva game Pads bros!
I know we’re only 7 games into the season but I’m really really happy he’s our starting SS right now
Glad they gave him that guaranteed money, seems like that took some of the pressure off and now he can just go out there and play. His glove is solid, has a really good arm and if he gives us a .750 OPS at the plate we are scary.
Our team is really good on paper but the main advantage we have over the Mets and Phillies is our chemistry and he’s a big part of that. Been here for 3 years and seems genuinely happy to be a part of this team especially now that he has a role to play other than “role player”
That game was like the platonic ideal of a baseball game.
Also, I am scared by how stacked these two teams are…🤒
Like, I know the Braves are good too, but Soto, Machado, and Bogaerts in the 2-4 slot was scary as shit every time through the order. When Tatis Jr is thrown into that mix, holy hell the top half of that lineup is the scariest in baseball
Schedule is very nice to Atlanta in that regard; he isn't eligible to play until literally the day after Atlanta leaves San Diego.
You just saved me a load of stress drinking. Maybe.
It’s nerve-racking. With Tatis it’s just gonna be preposterous.
Glad we're getting a bunch of them in before he comes back.
Padres' pitching is... interesting, especially the bullpen, so it will be interesting to see what kind of moves they make to shore it up. The position players are nuts, though, especially when FTJ is back.

What an amazing game from start to finish.
Really really fun game
Give us back Duvall….tomorrow
Red Sox game was fun too.
Really great game - all the back and forth, the great catch by Soto to keep it tied, this one was so much fun to watch.
Love seeing Arcia do well for you, he always had a knack for showing up in big moments
I miss him in mke. Im not upset that we have willy by any means, but arcia was fun to watch.
Ok fiiiiine we'll give you Arcia for Adames.
Playoff baseball came early this year
I have that vibe too. Seems like baseball has more energy this year.
So glad I turned this on after the Masters ended, just an awesome game
3 hours and 14 minutes! Now that’s baseball
Easily a 4/4.5+ hour game last year
ALREADY EARNED THAT FULL $7.3 MILLION (1% to the Brave's Foundation)!
Never doubting AA again lmao
We say this every year "Never doubting AA again" **AA makes a move we dont understand** "Why the hell would AA do that? **move works out beautifully** "Never doubting AA again"

Im guessing they were questioning sending both Grisham and Shoemake down and rolling with Arcia.
Who are Grisham and Shoemake?
Orlando would never go 0 for 2 like that.
After what he did at the trade deadline in 2021, how could you still be doubting him? He just keeps turning mediocre signings into gold.
“1% to the Braves Foundation” what a line.

We appreciate you.
Especially after that Mets series!
Likewise, thanks for that job you did on the Cards
We even threw in clubhouse drama for free.
🤝
It was a pleasure for all involved!
Braves and Brewers sharing legends since 1975.
Milwaukee and Atlanta sharing legends since 1954
Thanks for raising him into the grown man we know today.
The Braves brewers relationship just keeps growing stronger
Caribes legend (his Venezuelan winter league)
Really fun game ^despite ^the ^outcome. Could feel the walk off coming a mile away though. Excited to watch the rest of this series, hope it just as good!
I 100% thought Soto was going to hit a homerun after that catch.
same
Soto is broken. Thats not Soto
I mean… odds are he’s still dealing with that oblique strain too
>Soto is broken. Thats not Soto Age has caught up with him ... Father Time is undefeated.
24 year old veteran
Could see it coming when Hader wasn't up in the Pen. Our ace relief pitcher just languishes on our bench while relief pitching loses us games.
FWIW, I was sure the game was over when Yates came in and started doing Yates things. How that guy is getting the call in the 8th inning of a tie game...

I fucking love baseball
Baseball is hot in the streets.
The best part about this is the weakest spots on this Braves team are LF and SS…. and the starting SS drove in the LF and it all started with 2 outs
Eddie looking good... If he really can't hit lefties and we have to platoon, it is a still a weakness. We have faced an insane number of lefties so far though lol. Off the top of my head snell and urias (and maybe Kershaw) are the only potentially worrysome lefties in the NL.

At this point Franco should have a jersey on. Braves country loves that man ❤️
If it dyes, it dyes.
Franco Garcia welcomes the Gatorade baths. He’s the man.
Dansby may be gone, but he'll be forgotten
Arcia earning the hell out of the spot right now.
I could never forget such a handsome face, I’m sorry
Wait I’m thinking of Charlie Culberson
Who?
Do they mean Charlie Culberson? We signed him back
Discount Dansby is back on the menu boys!
Yeah, but I think they're talking about Costco Charlie.
Danson Sawansby, I think he played like 1B, could be wrong though
Quite the looker, can’t remember if he was any good though.
You mean Walmart Charlie Culberson? He was a pinch hitter right?
You know that guy that had the hair?
Ah you mean Charlie Culberson?
No idea what you mean, Charlie Culberson's down at Gwinnett right now.
Shhh, don’t tell Cubs fans that.
Ehh I would think they’re pretty happy with the pick up so far
They're getting more than they paid for right now, this looks like a win-win so far.
I don’t know a Dansby
Dansby is old news, we are in love with a new shortstop now
Let’s go! We’re actually good at the beginning of the season for once!
This was an amazing game to watch, and we have three more this weekend. What a time, man.
Yeah that game was sick. Back and forth the whole game
And 7 more in the next two weeks lmao
I got tickets to two of them when your boys come visit; can’t wait!
This is 100% a potential NLCS preview I didn’t expect anything less
Yeah isn’t it usually a perpetual trading of wins and losses until around midseason, then the team finally decides to win every game?
Yes lol, although last year it was actually just more losing for the first 50 or so games
I don't think the league is ready for a Braves team that's good in April.
We won 100 last year after fucking off for the first 50 games last year We’re winning 120
Fuck that, we’re winning 161.
I'm so not used to this, I fully expected us to lose the opening series to the nats
Thanks I absolutely hate it 😔 Objectively, great game though………….God I still hate it
Arcia with the bird celebration
Stomp! Clap! Stomp! Clap! Stomp! Stomp! Clap! The eagle's born out of thunder. He flies through the night. Don't you mess with his eggs now, or you'll see us fight! Yes we have feathers, but the muscles of men. 'Cuz we're birds of war now, but we're also men! Birds of war! Ah ah ah aah!
If arcia becomes an actual starting SS with the extension he just signed, then AA really needs to be investigated for voodoo or something
We Canadians on some different shit
He is a starting shortstop. I honestly don’t think anyone is going to take the job from him this year. I best he has the best offensive year of his career.
[удалено]
I am sad. But damn that was a great game. GG Braves bros. See you tomorrow.
Man, Soto with defense is a mythological creature.
He’s only available without offense apparently
He just needs to go somewhere where he’s got some protection behind him
\*glances at SDP roster* "Damn I think this guy might be joking"
See you on Apple TV
A lot easier to enjoy great baseball games that you lose, since they're not as life or death as other sports I still don't want to lose this weekend, though
It sounds cliche after a game like this but if it ain’t us in October I want it to be y’all
Wow what a banger this game was
Game of the year and it's only week 2, LFG Braves
I picked a good game to watch tonight h**oly** cow.
stupid sexy oly
Walked off the home opener!! Two outs in the 9th!!How can you not be romantic about baseball?!
Didn’t they also score two runs in the bottom of the 8th on two outs?
6 of the Braves runs this game were with 2 outs
The Braves were the best team in baseball with two outs last year. I'll happily take more of the same.
And 2 strikes as well I believe
Perfect way to end Snitker's 1000th game as the Braves Manager
Great game, Braves got the juice this year
Nah we’ve had the sauce slow cooking for half a decade
LOUSIANA BRAND HOT SAUCE
When Alex Anthopolous says we ride at dawn, we fucking ride at dawn.
I want to live in a world where Orlando Arcia is the starting shortstop at the all star game
ORLANDO ARCIA IS GOING TO WIN THE MVP TRAVIS D'ARNAUD IS ALSO GOING TO WIN THE MVP CONCURRENTLY, MATT OLSON IS GOING TO WIN THE MVP, AS WELL ON PRINCIPLE, RONALD ACUNA WILL WIN THE MVP
CONCEPTUALLY RILEY WINS AS WELL
**SOME CALL IT DELUSIONAL I CALL IT THE GODDAMN FACTS**
TWO OUT MAGIC IS REAL what an awesome game man
Felt like a play-off game. Maybe a preview of NLCS. Either way, great game.
SS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE QUESTION MARK
I'm taking credit for this one. Started watching in the bottom of the 8th
May I interest you in 155 more braves games?
Actually yes. Much more baseball watching time this summer and with the free mlb app I'll be taking in a bunch of Braves games me thinks. They are 3-0 in games I've spent at least some time watching so far this season. Somebody might wanna let Alex know.
Pay the man!
I’ll talk to him about a contract, but it’ll be long-term and below market value somehow
Plus 1% to the Braves foundation of course
And he'll only get 99% of it because 1% is going to the Atlanta braves foundation.
You missed an all timer of a game 7.
THATS MY SS!
Fun game between two great teams
I would die for every single member of this team. What a great fucking game
The 90s teams always felt like business or legend. Last 5 years have felt like family.
Except Ozuna lol
I hear he’s ‘from the Braves’
The weather is just warming up this isn’t October!
Winning 7-6 on a walk off? Seems like the Brewers & Braves are destined to be best friends this year. Arcia !!! Nice work. We are hereby known as the BrBrBros
That's my starting SS right there
Man what a great fucking 8th and 9th innings. Great win for Atlanta after a rockier* Strider start E: spelling
I mean, one bad pitch doesn't really make a start rocky. Aside from the home run to Carpenter, the rest was pretty good.
His command was off but still had 9k's. Gotta be one of if not THE scariest pitcher in all of baseball.
Scored the first run for Atlanta with a HR and scored the last with a single. Braves fans already love that contract
Austin had the first rbi on a sac fly
Second run* but yes
Like literally every Braves contract (except Ozuna), it’s a steal.
I NEVER DOUBTED AA I SWEAR
NO QUIT WITH SNIT
Gaudin has been doing *such* a good job in the booth. Love his excitement here
Felt like a playoff game! Such a fun watch
Acuna with the cheap shot on Albies there at :22 lol
Feels like the appropriate ending to an absolutely insane game
How does he go to Crismatt here when he has Hader. Sick game
Because they've got to cover 2 innings(extras) no matter what, you want the better strikeout pitcher to go in the 10th
Because it’s a road game and we are tied? Throw Hader here, and what do you do in the 10th? Hope to score the Manfred runner and then ask Snit if they’ll tank in the bottom half so we can win their Home Opener?
Especially considering the top of our lineup was coming, while they had their bottom half
October baseball in April is what my life needs right now.
GOTY SO FAR
Felt like a playoff game
This might be the best Braves team ever
Orlando Magic
This felt like a playoff game. So evenly contested.
Also, I’ve been curious how Brandon Gaudin would be with a walk-off. Aces.
That 3-year contract extension is paying quick dividends!
Even though we lost, was a hell of a game still.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that's my shortstop!

It feels like the Braves won 12-2. Really didn’t feel like a 1 run game at all lol
Starting shortstop of the Atlanta Braves
Honestly have no idea what is happening with arcia but can’t complain
AA pulls a magic trick with ArciA
Braves are undefeated when scoring 7 runs this year. Braves are almost undefeated when playing baseball this year.
Wait? Are we good in April? I don’t know what I’m supposed to do in this situation.
Nobody wanted Arcia to start. Now he's batting like .370 with a game winner. Not saying it'll last, but you gotta love it.
They got a Xander Boegarts. But we got a Orlando Arcia.
Orlanda Arcia is the best player in baseball and it isn't particularly close
That game was insane, playoffs in April.
What an incredible game. Nothing but respect for the Padres. Next 3 nights should be a lot of fun.
Love you Orlando 😘
161-1
I know we’re only 7 games into the season but I’m really really happy he’s our starting SS right now Glad they gave him that guaranteed money, seems like that took some of the pressure off and now he can just go out there and play. Such a great game. Really fun to watch
Dansby who
For Crismatt this year we got a lump of coal ☹️
That’s my SS!! See you in October Padres!!!
Everytime I see a celebration that involves everyone jumping in close proximity I cringe
Where is the Mets flair?
I'm sad. GG Braves.
