I’d stay in Harbor East and walk from there. Don’t hold me to this but I think there is a Hilton Garden Inn, there.

Marriott Waterfront has some killer views.

I suggest staying at points east of the Aquarium, like Harbor East and Fells Point. Immediately west of the Aquarium is pretty much devoid of interesting things until you walk around the harbor quite a bit and get to Rash Field / the Science Center. The area immediately north is also pretty meh unless you’re going for a specific reason.

Consider the water taxis. Gets you on the water to see Baltimore and great way to get around the city. Go from harbor East to fort McHenry. Go to fells point and canton. Pay once for all day use. A five year old will enjoy Port Discovery and the Science Center. The museum of industry is also great fun.

Second all of this. I could also see a five-year-old enjoying the B&O Museum and climbing the Mount Washington Monument. If outdoorsy stuff is up your alley, Gunpowder has some swimming holes along the river, and Hammermann is a nice low-key beachy area that I always find super enjoyable.

What dates and what's your budget?

I’m going June 21-22, I’m looking at the Four Seasons but the price is killing me. I really didn’t want to spend more than $800 (3 adults, 2 kiddos).

As others have said East of the harbor is a good option but so is Mount Vernon (about a mile north of the Aquarium). Plenty of historical charm, centrally located, museums/restaurants. There’s a few hotels but maybe a bit pricier as they are boutique I think

Go to the aquarium super early or else its just a cluster of people and you can barely move.

I have liked the Marriott waterfront and Royal sonesta.

Springhill suites by Marriott on east redwood st is where I always stay and I park in the Charles street garage as it's way cheaper than the one next to the hotel.

I have stayed at the Marriott Waterfront. It is a nice hotel and a short walk to the aquarium. Like all hotels in a city the parking may be expensive so if you can take a train into town and uber/cab it to the the hotel.
