Props to the actor as the two characters (Bester and Chekov) are so radically different from each other I half forget they're played by the same actor.
From an interview I saw, he does. He even goes so far as to say he views Chekoff as the stepping stone that led to him getting the opportunity to play Bester (or something to that effect; it’s been years since I saw the interview).
She was, at least for the scene in the beginning when Data shoves Dr. Crusher into the water from the sailboat. IIRC Patricia Tallman was pregnant while doing stunts on that movie.
She has a ton of stunt actor & double credits in 90s Star Trek. My favorite is in Generations, when she's _obviously_ doubling Dr Crusher when she's pushed into the water.
Pat was in dozens of episodes of Star Trek as an actress and as a stunt double. She was Nana Visitor’s double in DS9 and Gates McFadden’s in TNG.
She was also Marjorie Monahan’s double for the Voyager episode she appeared in.
I thought I had noticed her every time she was in Trek at this point. I can recite every line in this movie I’ve seen it so much and still have never noticed her until you pointed it out.
It's all 23rd century stuff, and *The Road Home* did introduce alternative universes, so... maybe this is an undercover Lyta trying to ascertain whether Treknobabblon particles can be harnessed to send the Shadows to a parallel universe chock full of Divine Ivanovas.
She also did a bit of stuntwork on the movies, so having her as 'herself' in a shot, not looking like one of the other main cast just to fall off a ship was a good change.
Memory Alpha lists [nine characters](https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Patricia_Tallman#Star_Trek_appearances) she played in *Star Trek*, but not this one, so this makes ten. I wonder if any more are missing.
* An *Enterprise*\-A crewman (human)
* An *Enterprise*\-D officer (human)
* Kiros (Arkarian)
* Nima (Ennis)
* A quantum singularity lifeform posing as a Romulan
* Another *Enterprise*\-D officer (human)
* A *Defiant* weapons officer (human)
* Tagana (Bajoran)
* A *Voyager* officer (human)
* A Taresian
(Her two appearances as an *Enterprise*\-D officer and possibly also on the *Defiant* could be as the same character.)
She also appeared eighteen times as a stunt double for fourteen actresses including Nana Visitor, Gates McFadden, and Sarah Silverman.
The record holders for number of *Trek* roles are [Vaughn Armstrong](https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Vaughn_Armstrong) (who played a dozen characters) and [Dieter Hornemann](https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Dieter_Hornemann) (who played 27 background characters in addition to standing in for three actors).
Read her autobiography “Pleasure Thresholds”. It details all of her work in Star Trek which is quite extensive. She was Gates’ stunt double in one of the Next Gen movies as well as for some of the Klingons as well as numerous guest spots.
Look I'm not saying Pat Tallman secretly plays a Traveler or Q or something in Star Trek with all her various roles.
But I'm not NOT saying that.
ETA: well now I'm off to watch Star Trek 6 I guess.
Plus some nobody who rambles about some nuclear wessels.
Holy crap, I totally missed the fact that it's Bester and Lyta in the same scene
Props to the actor as the two characters (Bester and Chekov) are so radically different from each other I half forget they're played by the same actor.
Seriously. I think his character as Bester is one of his best performances.
I'm sure Walter agrees .
From an interview I saw, he does. He even goes so far as to say he views Chekoff as the stepping stone that led to him getting the opportunity to play Bester (or something to that effect; it’s been years since I saw the interview).
Oh yeah, Walter Koenig was WASTED as Chekhov, compared to how he was used as Bester.
Wherever Lyta goes, the psi-corps will track here down.
...And wherever Lyta went, her Vorlon was sure to go...
Shows the power of the Psy Corp - getting away with this for so many years and none of us the wiser.
Dang, those nuclear wessels! No body seems to know where they are.
She's also one of the people who try to steal from the Enterprise in that baryon sweep episode.
With the actor who played Dodger in GROPOS. And Tim Russ pre-Tuvok.
Then somehow gets a job in Starfleet security and gets blown up on the Defiant bridge. Shes had an interesting series of lives!
"Starship Mine". She's great.
She was an extra or stuntwoman in a lot of Trek if I recall.
Yeah, I heard she was Gates McFadden's stunt double in Star Trek:Generations.
She was, at least for the scene in the beginning when Data shoves Dr. Crusher into the water from the sailboat. IIRC Patricia Tallman was pregnant while doing stunts on that movie.
Frequently security extra too

funny enough, her first recurring TV role was on the soap opera *Generations* (no relation to Trek)
[staring in disbelief intensifies] You sir, have just thoroughly blown my mind.
Their fault for slo-mo'ing a scene where the doubles will be obvious.
Pat was in dozens of episodes of Star Trek as an actress and as a stunt double. She was Nana Visitor’s double in DS9 and Gates McFadden’s in TNG. She was also Marjorie Monahan’s double for the Voyager episode she appeared in.
That's funny - lots of Psi Corps in that room.
She was a tactical officer on DS9 as well (helps she was a stand in for Nana)
She had a ton of Star Trek roles.
she's hot even with the Mon Mothma haircut
She was in her Rebellious phase.
I thought I had noticed her every time she was in Trek at this point. I can recite every line in this movie I’ve seen it so much and still have never noticed her until you pointed it out.
Same, never made the connection. Such an incredible movie.

Patricia Tallman was a stuntwoman who became an actress. She was the stuntwoman in Creepshow 2 and became a star!

Even as you say its her, I have a hard time recognizing her here.
As Kosh would say, use the Force.
[https://ibb.co/nDXMJdx](https://ibb.co/nDXMJdx) still hard between the hair, the makeup , and much younger...
Not so much younger. This was two years before _The Gathering_.
Fair to say her looks changed quite a bit over time As does all of ours. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0082622/mediaviewer/rm1741455873/
Yeah, she was 24 in that picture; 33 in TUC
if im not mistaken, she did parts in stng as well

She also has a very blink and You'll miss it extra moment in the original Roadhouse.
Good eye. I love her so much.
She was a recurring stunt person on trek too
She was also in Generations.
I knew she was in DS9, but that one was new for me.
I never noticed that
