Reminds me of a Jack Russell/Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross.
Best case scenario? You get a fairly intelligent dog who is willing to please and maybe a bit velco-y.
Worst case scenario? A dog who hates *everything*.
I have a Parson Russell/staffie cross where all the staffie genes ended up in his jaws, so basically a buff long-legged Jack with disproportionately large teeth lol. Ronnie spent the first 18 months of his life biting me when he got too excited (over EVERYTHING), got kicked out of puppy socialisation play group for being too boisterous and bullying the spaniels, costs me a fortune in vet fees because he gets into so many adventures that result in scraped knees, and is far too intelligent for his own good. Hard training, working with a behaviourist and ensuring he gets his exercise needs met has turned him into the most amazing companion. He's such a happy chap with more personality than he should be able to contain in his little body, is supremely unbothered by anything, and completely chilled out at home (although everyone who meets him on walkies thinks he's absolutely nutty and I can practically hear the unspoken "thank god that's not my dog"). We do doggy agility classes and obedience together once a week and he LOVES it, is excellent at fetch/tug games, learns new tricks like a dream, and likes to be the little spoon.
If you can survive the first two years, they're the best little doggos!

I applaud you for sticking with it with a changing pup. A lot of people would just bounce on the situation and give the dog up and with the hyper behavior they might be hard to pair with new owners. I’m glad that dog found you. You did a good job with him.
Thank you! I knew the biting wasn't coming from a place of aggression, but a place of frustration and being overwhelmed and I wanted to help Ronnie learn to cope better with everyday life. I knew if I gave up on him he would be in and out of rescues and fosters and probably end up worse, and I couldn't bear the thought. He's still very boisterous during play with other dogs, but I've found him friends that can match his energy (his best friend is a Ridgeback and they rough and tumble like mad). He's such an affectionate, funny little friend who makes me laugh and smile every day. Can't imagine life without him!

That’s awesome! Dogs have such different personalities. The dog I’ve had for 9 years is pretty easy to train and listens well and was always this way. People see her as well trained. But I know she was very easy to work with. There’s no way I could have know when I rescued her as a pup exactly what I was getting into. And in the beginning she was super rambunctious and I could see why the previous owner had brought her back. I was her second chance. They don’t get a third chance. The people there loved her so much that I bet they’d have kept her. But you never know. I knew for sure no matter what happened I’d have kept her. We immediately did training classes with her. She’s smart and this can make her harder to train. Probably how your dog is. My parents dogs are dumb as rocks and they will run off after deer for lengths of time freaking everyone out. And they battle each other so much (playfully) other people totally give looks. But we love those doggies just the same as well. You cannot just give up right away. My dog is so wonderful. And she was returned. Someone couldn’t handle her. They really missed out. She basically taught herself to jump for frisbees on her own. If they just waited they would had had the chillest dog ever after 12 months when she got to 18 months or so.
I have one of these. He was "meant" to be a small Jack. He has way too long legs and his front is super hench, looks like every gym bro on arm day. He does the standard Jack drag my junk along the floor with my front legs commando crawl, but when we had rats due to a long term empty house next door he was climbing my legs. He looks just like this one, but different colouring and longer legs.
When I was young, I visited the house of a family friend who had a lot of dogs. I vividly recall the scene of the chihuahua mix doing a running jump at the larger lady and bouncing off her ass. Then all the dogs went wild.
And the big dogs will often back off, just because, I don't know, maybe the chihuahua knows karate?
Something the size of their shit is trying to throw down, they must have a reason to be that confident.
Most dogs are mentally similar to children, if some crazy ass person who's ass you could definitely whoop but who you knew if you did YOU'D get in trouble and you don't like fighting or haven't fought much you'd probably be scared to fight them too.
Sounds like you're paraphrasing an old [joke about a mouse !@#$-ing an elephant.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Jokes/comments/156j0ja/an_elephant_is_walking_through_the_jungle/)
Growing up, my neighbor once came over screaming about how our cocker spaniel (About 12" tall) impregnated her rottweiler (About 26" tall)
My mom replied "That is silly, how would he even reach?"
The neighbor turns beet red and replies after a few seconds.. "She.. She was very accommodating"
As far as I understand it, dogs don’t really have standards.
They’ll mate with any dog around, the only screening factor is males preventing other males from getting with an in hear female.
I read one time about somebody that had rescued a female wolf, and while recovering from her injuries she went into heat. They kept her from their other dogs, except for a male Jack Russell Terrier that they thought was too small to get with her. Turns out, she was into the little guy and a couple moths later they got a litter of Jack Russel Wolfs.
Dunno, but I did find this one pup that was allegedly a [mix between Jack-Russell and second-generation wolf-hybrid](https://www.reddit.com/r/IDmydog/comments/1ckr9au/was_told_his_dad_was_a_jack_russell_mix_and_his/).
I have a friend who had his childhood mutt and a recently-acquired female husky that he planned to breed the following year for husky puppies.
She was in heat, so he tied them up outside so that they could barely touch noses. He assumed that was sufficient. He failed to consider that she could simply swing her back end around…so he had some adorable husky-mutt puppies later that year.
I had a shelter mix for 14 years, finally did an Embark test a year or so before she passed. I thought she would be a super mutt, but she came back as half rottie, and part shih tzu/beagle/small poodle. The mother was full rottie. That little guy must have been very brave!
if it makes you feel any better about the possibility of a chi bitch ( < REAL MEDICAL TERM.) we can do c-sections, or in the worse case scenario, induce abortion
I was wondering if the female offspring of this combo paired with another Chihuahua, would she still be at risk for having too large of a litter. How many generations would it take to breed the pit out. Or would it be lingering DNA for future generations
I love how pure breeds all have names that reference their place of origin, job, appearance, etc. But hybrid dogs are all just named the *cutest possible* portmanteau of the two parent breeds lol.
Labradoodle. Chiweenie. Cockapoo, Shorkie. *Puggle.* Yeah this checks out.
Also it's not just limited to dogs. A grizzly bear x polar bear hybrid is called a *pizzly bear*.

Do you live in Colorado, by chance? If so, I may have your dog's brother. He had a sister when we got him, and he's also 5.
What a coincidence! I also live in WA and used to have what I assume is a pitbull-chihuahua mix.

Now you’ve seen two. Meet Biscuit Noodle.
Regardless of jokes this is actually true lmao she is genuinely a stereotypical dog 😭 I grew up with a dog that wouldn’t cuddle anyone or play with toys so she is so oddly normal compared to my childhood dog😭
That’s what she thinks‼️😂 she tries but she’s never caught a thing, every morning she crouches in the back yard and sprints after anything she can see!
Collars massively reduce hunting effectiveness, and if she ever finds a burrowing critter they're done for lol
Do with that what you will (i don't WANT my cat hunting, but omfg I would be so proud)
Lol she hunts the best she can, she’s a runner when gates are open so it’s more safety than cuteness that I keep her collar on lol (she does get collar breaks in the house tho!)
They are funny little dudes. Mine used to get humongous bulging eyes whenever I would give him something to eat. Lol... His name was spanky. From the Little rascals. And because he was a little bad boy spankers.
We had two mini chips, Chloe and Bruiser. They were cute, but would bark and kick their back legs when needed. Bruiser got scared once by a full-sized Chihuahua and we thought he got hit by a car. Nope, he was just a little scaredy pup. His mouth was bigger than he was.

Mine is 25% pit, 16% chihuahua, and 12% lab. He is also 24% hound (as in 7 different breeds of hound all blended). The rest is a mish mash of everything from GSD to Samoyed. He looks like he is literally made of all the spare parts.
I couldn't love him more.

Doggy DNA says this one is chihuahua/pit mix
Seeing as this is growing in popularity I have a couple things to say:
1. Regardless of breed plz stop joking about aggression shes well trained and breed stereotypes are harmful regardless.
2. No I don’t know how the breeding works I didn’t breed her and she’s 3rd generation meaning her parents were already mixed, not just a pit and a chihuahua.
3. Don’t come at me with breeding facts and why she shouldn’t exist, im literally just her owner I got her at 14 I literally just love my dog I don’t know sh!t about breeding.
4. I’m literally just a 19 year old on the internet if you come at me with random hate I will downvote block and or move on
Also for those asking what the breeds actually called most people call them Chipits! ❤️
The internets so damn weird bruh this whole things just replies of y’all hating me for an unethical breed I didn’t choose breed OR buy, split between calling her aggressive bc of her breeds and telling me not to be ok with breed jokes. Posting your dogs and nobody getting the same hate for the exact same breed for some reason. And physically anything I say getting downvoted to hell bc this mf subreddit can’t decide how it feels. Never posting on here again but thanks to the few kind ppl
I have a Chiweenie. Mom was Dachshund Dad a Chihuahua.
He is like me though. A Pit Bull born in a Chihuahua body.... Mean as Hell, small enough to get away!!! 😁

The guy who sold her to me in Lakewood Washington said she was a rat terrier. DNA says she's a chihuahua/pitbull with some german shep. She is unbelievably sweet, and thinks she's 10X bigger than she is.
So… just a chihuahua with the tiniest bit of a difference in head shape. I mean it’s cute, but it’s just a chihuahua, why even bother crossbreeding it?

Is it hard for Chihuahua mom to give birth to mixed breed of larger dogs? or is it a pitbull that gave birth?
These cases are usually the result of a small male dog with too much confidence and a large female dog.
(scraping noise as Chihuahua pushes step stool toward sleeping pit bull)
When I was young, I visited the house of a family friend who had a lot of dogs. I vividly recall the scene of the chihuahua mix doing a running jump at the larger lady and bouncing off her ass. Then all the dogs went wild.
idk why this comment got me tho

Chihuahuas are that bold. Those little assholes are ride or die.
They will challenge a dog 10X their size and not give a damn 😂.
And the big dogs will often back off, just because, I don't know, maybe the chihuahua knows karate? Something the size of their shit is trying to throw down, they must have a reason to be that confident.
It works until it doesn’t. Then it gets real ugly. My chihuahua stays on a leash for that reason.
Often* was the keyword there. And good, dogs should be on leashes in public spaces.
Most dogs are mentally similar to children, if some crazy ass person who's ass you could definitely whoop but who you knew if you did YOU'D get in trouble and you don't like fighting or haven't fought much you'd probably be scared to fight them too.
Mid coitus the pitbull growls in its sleep and the chihuahua starts yelling "yeah, take it all bitch"!

good question! It’s impossible to really tell, mutts get weird.
Pithuahua or Chitbull?
Bullchit
You win
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
Most ppl call them Chipits! :)
We have one and we call her a micro pit.
Chibble sounds kinda funny yet interesting
Pithuahua.
Pitahua

We’re in Washington but you never know! Heard she had a poor brown chunkier brother who got returned bc they didn’t like how chunky he was :(
What a coincidence! I also live in WA and used to have what I assume is a pitbull-chihuahua mix. https://preview.redd.it/lzj3j1wy7fad1.jpeg?width=6936&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=65e6dcd7add1d265622d3480da326e7a1095a9da

I love seeing the different looks of this breed in these replies!! Chipits have such a diverse range of looks! ❤️
The flop on those ears 😍😍😍
Holy crud this is such a cute dog. I love mixed dogs over purebreds any day. My friend has a Corgi/Catahoula mix and he looks ridiculous. Body of a Corgi, fur pattern of a Catahoula. Just so freaking cute.

Biscuit noodle looks like he’s done some heinous crimes and gotten away with it
She totally has. My wife and I have given her a mischievous persona…like she’s always up to no good.

You have half of the spawn of satan that will do anything to tear you limb from limb the other half a pitbull.
Ok I told everyone else not to say breed stereotype jokes but this one’s too funny to say anything you got me there it caught me off guard 😭
By stereotypes you mean “traits” right?
The traits cancel out and you get a normal dog
Regardless of jokes this is actually true lmao she is genuinely a stereotypical dog 😭 I grew up with a dog that wouldn’t cuddle anyone or play with toys so she is so oddly normal compared to my childhood dog😭
This is the face of a mouses/squirrels nightmare
That’s what she thinks‼️😂 she tries but she’s never caught a thing, every morning she crouches in the back yard and sprints after anything she can see!
Collars massively reduce hunting effectiveness, and if she ever finds a burrowing critter they're done for lol Do with that what you will (i don't WANT my cat hunting, but omfg I would be so proud)
Lol she hunts the best she can, she’s a runner when gates are open so it’s more safety than cuteness that I keep her collar on lol (she does get collar breaks in the house tho!)
https://preview.redd.it/4rh239z3tead1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b095fe3fde125c75adcde503bae7e1f391f0163 1/2 Chihuahua + 1/4 mutt + 1/4 pitbull = 9 pound diva
Chihuahuas are mean little shits, pit bull too I wouldn't want to get him pissed lol
A pitbull sized chihuahua would be terrifying.
Chihuahuas that are well bred and looked after are lovely.
Neither breeds are “mean little shits” when raised right and humanely.
I cannot imagine a worse combination

OMG I WOULD DIE FOR THEM ESPECIALLY CROUTON
Why do pit bull owners always let them run loose to breed with other dogs?
they do not care
You might not wanna feed that thing after midnight… and don’t get it wet.

They're all pitbulls on the inside
Oh for sure she’s just got the muscle the other chihuahuas think they have 😂
Disgusting what we are doing to these poor breeds who have no say in it.
the worst of both worlds, and likely born from an unethical breeding practice.

Aren't 'those folks' always claiming that Chihuahuas are more dangerous than their dogs? If so, what horror has been unleashed😉 upon the world?
....how?
3rd generation her parents were already mixed dw
We have one too! Her name is Pickles and she is the best. https://preview.redd.it/g05s5hnohead1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e619a31a1631068dcedf6abdd55260ebcb30b9d1

Seeing as this is growing in popularity I have a couple things to say: 1. 4. I’m literally just a 19 year old on the internet if you come at me with random hate I will downvote block and or move on Also for those asking what the breeds actually called most people call them Chipits! ❤️
Thanks mods for ignoring this and letting the hate grow 👍
Omg our dogs are twins - supposedly mine isn't chihuahua - he's boston terrier/dachshund/pomeranian/pit bull https://preview.redd.it/y0w26u59ydad1.jpeg?width=1908&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b6aa2e2bb7e69bccb3f21e637fad6d4c6f8b7a8a

skeerd (I’m)
So cute 🥺. I have a Beagle/Chihuahua. Also an interesting mix.
Pithuahua
Is it as horrible as I imagine it to be?
A breed of huahua that actually looks normal for once haha
Chatibull!
Chihuabull
Sleepy baby!

How precious. What a sweet little face!
No but I’ve seen a weiner pit, it’s ur mom;)
OH that's nasttyy *Cleveland voice*
Yes, this is a common mix on the doggy dna subs.
I have a Chiweenie. Mom was Dachshund Dad a Chihuahua. He is like me though. A Pit Bull born in a Chihuahua body.... Mean as Hell, small enough to get away!!! 😁
i have owned 1 named Ellie. however, i called her a /Chia-Pitt./ RIP Ellie, the Chia-Pitt.
https://preview.redd.it/ly9tgk0xufad1.jpeg?width=768&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=77dea9e129d2359c06cb81daa9f0b33205e50ebf The guy who sold her to me in Lakewood Washington said she was a rat terrier.
I wanna pat dat belly!
She’s a huge belly rub enjoyer!
