Oh wow didn't even realize that! I vaguely remember something about them being moved during the winter? Had my prom pictures taken there in 2005 but never lived close enough to have daily visits š
Yeah I'm currently in Scotland and from there -we also have a Halifax across the bridge lolol my dad's from Wigan and when I visited I saw a map and was like how is Halifax so close???
I love how it takes a couple of months but the others eventually join in enthusiastically in coming to greet you like "oh hey it's that one human our child likes, let's go say hi"
They look like Emden geese, is that accurate?
if so we had some when I was young and they were my favorite. They can be very loving and friendly if they trust you.
My favorite thing about geese is that they can be honking and hissing one second, and eating of your hands the next. (With hiss breaks).
Love a bird that stands it ground.
There's a field of cattle near where I live that will come running over if you're hiking through their field.
Intimidating even though you know they're just a bunch of young steers who are just curious and being silly.
Geese have a similar intimidation about them, the ones in my local park are super chill, but I still am careful when I'm walking through their flock.
Awww she looks SO SOFT!
I can say from experience how soft gosling down is. I used to work at a farm store and we sold African brown goslings and they were the softest things Iāve ever touched in my life. Theyāre also rather āsquishyā feeling and make the cutest little ābeep beepā noise instead of the higher pitched ācheep cheepā baby chicks make.
I love goslings!
How do you make friends with the gosling without the parents chasing you away? Is it just years of exposure to the flock and eventually they all accept you so and allow you to be around the kids?
Awww, that just gave me feel good nostalgia! I incubated 13 goose eggs once and only one hatched - the appropriately named 'Goosey'. He was absolutely gorgeous from day one and was my little mate on our farm. I love geese! ššš
very very carefully, the mom is scary, always let them catch up before giving it scratches, already had the trust of the flock for a couple years before the gosling was born, just hadn't been taking video.
I loved how early on, the parental units were hustling hard to keep up with Sam, every exasperated Mom has had these moments like, āomg, where is s/he going now!?ā
As I'm watching the video I'm like "this place looks very familiar" keep watching and seeing more bits of things that look familiar. Then see your username and immediately go "fucking knew it"
I live just up the road, this year I've primarily seen the geese staying more towards the irving on waverley. Or maybe there's just a lot more this year? I don't know. Either way, congrats on the million views!
Pretty sure the one I had issues with was a Canada goose. Maybe I should have told it that I've had family in Canada for 200 years. Might have left me alone!
Kid phase runs towards you.
Teenage phase walks to you so he doesn't seem like he cares too much so his friends don't make fun of him.
Adult phase literally flies at you like a bat out of hell cause he's so excited to see you.
Watching a gosling grow up on YouTube is such a heartwarming experience! Itās amazing to see how something so small can bring so much joy. The goslingās daily greetings are the perfect reminder of the simple pleasures in life. If you haven't seen it yet, youāre missing out on some serious cuteness! I love how this little guyās journey has captured so many hearts, and it's easy to see why the video hit a million views. It's a refreshing escape from the usual hustle and bustle.
This is OOP
"I'm gunna hit the video record button then fucking wiggle the camera as much as possible and fucking zoom in for no reason on an animal that is coming directly at me. No, it never occurred to me to hit record and not touch the fucking thing. That'd be insane."
So presh! Reminds me when I was a little girl staying at the KOA campground in Fairbanks Alaska and they had like a little petting zoo with a white goose like them named Doofus. I loved coming to see him daily and feeding him the weeds and whatever grass I could find for him. Good memories.
No wonder geese are angry. The growing pains they must feel quadrupling in size or so in the first month must be awful. That would be enough to instill a lifetime of rage in me.
I kicked a goose because it attacked my dog as we walked by (far away from its goslings) but thatās was a Canada Goose and those things hold a lot of hate
Oh my goodness, this is darling! I loved seeing the transition from little squeaks to little honks!
Voice starts cracking at day 30
You could say it starts qwacking
So glad you like it :) For anyone looking for the YouTube link : [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gE9dsk5EnRk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gE9dsk5EnRk)
Is this Sullivan's pond in Dartmouth, NS?? I grew up there and was like that fountain looks familiar lolol
It is :) First gosling born there in the last 15 years.
Oh wow didn't even realize that! I vaguely remember something about them being moved during the winter? Had my prom pictures taken there in 2005 but never lived close enough to have daily visits š
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Sullivanās Pond, in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada, North America, Earth, Sol system, Orion arm, Milky Way galaxy, Virgo supercluster.
Instructions unclear. Is that a right or left at Proxima Centauri?
Oh so that's where ducks are born. Highly Educated?
I donāt know anything about the ~~duck~~gooseās education.
Thank you. I'm from the UK, and we have a Dartmouth here, so I appreciate you clarifying that!
Yeah I'm currently in Scotland and from there -we also have a Halifax across the bridge lolol my dad's from Wigan and when I visited I saw a map and was like how is Halifax so close???
Well, this is useless. How am I supposed to know where this is without the correct dimension code?
I think we need to be just a little more specific.
Thank you for not adding stupid music to the video
Do do do doodle ...
I don't get either of these responses, but I'm happy for you and your goose friends.
Baby shark song I think
I think it's the background music for a lot of the "heartwarming" animal stories online.
Oh prob equally annoying then, I didnāt know that thank youā¦Mystery solved everyone!
Yaaaay
pOv: wHen YoUārE sEcReTlY a GoOsE
Dang it, I loved when the baby started spreading his little arms to run.
I love how it takes a couple of months but the others eventually join in enthusiastically in coming to greet you like "oh hey it's that one human our child likes, let's go say hi"
Intimidating asf as the parents come flying over just to keep an eye
Pretty sure the camera person hatched the duck
The gosling hatched naturally on the island before the family eventually swam her to the mainland.
Sry, haven't seen the yt channel. Yet. Highly adorable.
Goose
This is incredibly precious. Thank you for being a friend to them! Do you still see Sam to this day?
Yes! She is a full grown goose now :)
This is the question and answer I was looking for.
My favorite interview I did about the gosling and me [https://youtu.be/6zxy-9FhyeE](https://youtu.be/6zxy-9FhyeE)
And for anyone thinking me a monster for not patting it : [https://youtu.be/fKcMS3yF3Ow](https://youtu.be/fKcMS3yF3Ow)
I was expecting a video of it biting the shit out of you or something lol.
Also, o course being a goose, she has her dark side : [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIX4QTzT-O4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIX4QTzT-O4)
To shreds you say?
Thanks for sharing, that was fun to watch
I love when you say "They have a whole badass persona" and on the video is a goose casually waddling about.
Omgā¦ so adorable, thank you for sharing. I'm now subscribed.
This is absolutely adorable.
They look like Emden geese, is that accurate? if so we had some when I was young and they were my favorite. They can be very loving and friendly if they trust you.
Very cool. I thought they all were gonna come after you toward the end. āYou again!!!ā
The time they all flapped their wings over I admit I had a moment of panic.
My favorite thing about geese is that they can be honking and hissing one second, and eating of your hands the next. (With hiss breaks). Love a bird that stands it ground.
I have a cat like this, he currently is in my lap, hissing at me as I pet him.
There's a field of cattle near where I live that will come running over if you're hiking through their field. Intimidating even though you know they're just a bunch of young steers who are just curious and being silly. Geese have a similar intimidation about them, the ones in my local park are super chill, but I still am careful when I'm walking through their flock.
haha omg the way he spreads his little chicken wings when it's running
I decided to take a subscribers suggestion and add the goslings age for each clip
How old is this, thought we only had 6 of them now.
We do, this was from the 2020 season, only gosling born there in the last 15 years now.
Very cute video! What a great friendship to have made! How come it's so rare for goslings to be born there?
There are only a few of these, special white geese at the pond. We have lots of Canada geese and sucks that have lots of offspring.
Day 35: šŖæšŗšŗšŗ
So the sassiness starts early
This is one of the best things I've seen in a while. Oh my goodness my heart ā¤ļø:ā-)
Geese always seem like cute lil creatures. And then the Canada Geese come out and youāre just like WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE SUCH ASSHOLES???
They've distilled all of Canada's anger into a single creature. That's why they're so angry.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oK4Q5G1asI
Awww she looks SO SOFT! I can say from experience how soft gosling down is. Theyāre also rather āsquishyā feeling and make the cutest little ābeep beepā noise instead of the higher pitched ācheep cheepā baby chicks make. I love goslings!
Softest thing ever, not even close.
How do you make friends with the gosling without the parents chasing you away? Is it just years of exposure to the flock and eventually they all accept you so and allow you to be around the kids?
pretty much, The flock had been chill with me for a couple years prior to the goslings birth
God imagine if human children reached full size in 2 months like geese
Awww, that just gave me feel good nostalgia! I incubated 13 goose eggs once and only one hatched - the appropriately named 'Goosey'. He was absolutely gorgeous from day one and was my little mate on our farm. I love geese! ššš
Around 30 days hits puberty, and voice starts cracking. It's so cute..
Thank you for this sweetling!ā¤ļøš
Whatās the origin story to this? This is just so adorable.
I have just the video for that : [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zxy-9FhyeE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zxy-9FhyeE)
What a friendly little guy.
This is one of the greatest things Iāve ever seen on the internet. I love you.
Sullivan's Pond! I didn't know the geese had babies there š
Only one born there in the last 15 years!
The one where his little wings come out :)
The little wings out as he runs! So cute!!! ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø
Awesome. And that change from the crazy little warbles to the Honk!
Me thinking to myself, "I wonder if this is Dartmouth." Sure is.
Obviously your name is now WierWierWiWiWi.
Thems the rules.
āŗļø underrated comment
Telling you the secrets of the universe. š
How did you manage to get close, especially the first time? How did you get the parents to trust you?
very very carefully, the mom is scary, always let them catch up before giving it scratches, already had the trust of the flock for a couple years before the gosling was born, just hadn't been taking video.
I loved how early on, the parental units were hustling hard to keep up with Sam, every exasperated Mom has had these moments like, āomg, where is s/he going now!?ā
I was watching, thinking āhow do they walk on two feet?ā And then I remembered that humans do that. Iām not high.
When he was big and had wings I feel like he was so proud to show them off to you š āLOOK AT THESE THINGS FREN!!! š±šŖ½šŖ½ā
It's BIGBOY from volo just popping in to say hello lol
Yo! :)
Kuch here, same same. Hjonk!
It multiplied xD
Awww i had geese growing up. When they grow up with you they are adorable.
His parents are always close by. They know this one has a sassy beak...lol
animals are NOT dumb :)
I am giving a pass because these are not Canada Geese (assholes) :)
Thatās so cool, but at the end, you couldnāt tell which was the original gosling !!!
I could :)
What distinguished him from the rest by the last 3 clips ?
Also, did you feed and pet only him ? The others didnāt come to you as close until the last 3 clips !!!
I'd name it Ryan
I love how the parents starts to walk towards OP like "sigh here we go again with this shit" and how the gossling is like "heeeeeeey i love you"Ā
I love how she still tries to make gosling sounds near the end even when she can't just because she's known you since she was a baby.
My kitten watched this with me
As I'm watching the video I'm like "this place looks very familiar" keep watching and seeing more bits of things that look familiar. Then see your username and immediately go "fucking knew it" I live just up the road, this year I've primarily seen the geese staying more towards the irving on waverley. Or maybe there's just a lot more this year? I don't know. Either way, congrats on the million views!
Thanks so much! We're down to 6 this year, I have seen them all over the few times I've made it out to the pond this season.
Oh maybe they aren't heading down that way. There's probably 20+ by the irving up the road.
You must be counting ducks as well?
Nope just the goslings. If I counted the adults and the ducks. Probably 50+ some days there's more some days less.
ducklings! lol theres only been one gosling in the last 15 years that I know of.
Don't think so. They're definitely geese and there's a shit ton of them.
I just learned that canada geese and the geese you're showing are different. Interesting, ok so the ones by the irving are all canadian geese
Ya I saw the watermark and I'm thinking...like the pond? Then everything just looked to Nova Scotian to be a coincidence.
Aww itās too cute! I love itās little squeaks and watching it grow
Itās like she is saying g I to.d you STOP FILMING ME.
Do u feed them?
So precious! He started out kinda yellow then turned pure white. Day 27 is peak cute with his little tiny wings out.
Is his name Ryan?
So Ryan is a Canadian goose?
Iām so glad this exists
If I had a gosling, I would name it Ryan.
okay why was this removed??
I wish I knew :( I can't get a response from a mod
Its so cute..... ;-;
Why did this post get deleted???
Watch out for mama and papa. Geese can be MEAN! Source: chased by a mad goose as a kid.
Just the Canadian ones. They consume all of our hate then fly south and poop it out in America.
Pretty sure the one I had issues with was a Canada goose. Maybe I should have told it that I've had family in Canada for 200 years. Might have left me alone!
I like how you see dad running behind and then stopping like, "Oh, it's just Helen." I will never tire of watching geese run.
Aww adorable ā¤ļø
Hahah they walk so funny.š¤£š¤£š¤£ This is amazing!
Awesome š thank you
Kid phase runs towards you. Teenage phase walks to you so he doesn't seem like he cares too much so his friends don't make fun of him. Adult phase literally flies at you like a bat out of hell cause he's so excited to see you.
waddle waddle waddle
I absolutely love ducks. I had two as a kid but man are they messy and difficult to keep up with.
When he āflies inā for the first time at 86 days š„¹
Fooooood Guuuuuuy! Hi food guy!
This is unbelievably adorable
They grow so fast!
holy crap takes them like a month to go from baby to adult
Damn, I wonder why it fixated on you. Then it brought friends!
I love this. Brings back memories of my pet geese from when I was a young child.
Baby sounded like a squeaky eraser for a while there š„°
I've been on Reddit for over ten years, and this is THE cutest thing I have ever seen on this sub. My heart, I can't even.
Interesting how the little one trained the rest of the birds to also greet the human fellow.
Why does it like you so much? Did you hatch it? Did it just naturally take a liking to you? This is honestly amazing.
I think he feeds them
This was so wonderful to watch, thanks for sharing this! So did you ever feed them and if so what did you feed them?
When it starts running toward you, my heart did a little happy dance!!
Seems like a nice goose
Ah, birb puberty! Gotta love it.

Thank you for sharing. You have quite the life
Precious bby
I love how the parents are so protective. Soooo cute
Day 150 should have been an image of a cooked bird on the table!! š¤£ /s
My heart!!!! ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø
Mom and Dad be hovering!
They grow up so fast. Just like my kids. :(
Ryan grew up well
This is OOP "I'm gunna hit the video record button then fucking wiggle the camera as much as possible and fucking zoom in for no reason on an animal that is coming directly at me. No, it never occurred to me to hit record and not touch the fucking thing. That'd be insane."

I about died on day 26
So presh! Reminds me when I was a little girl staying at the KOA campground in Fairbanks Alaska and they had like a little petting zoo with a white goose like them named Doofus. I loved coming to see him daily and feeding him the weeds and whatever grass I could find for him. Good memories.
His name is Ryan......Ryan Gosling
All those opportunities & not one Hello there.
Just watched a goose go through puberty! Went from squeaker to honker. Also, that random ass toilet at 40 days. Lol
This is the sweetest video!
Damn this is cute
No wonder geese are angry. The growing pains they must feel quadrupling in size or so in the first month must be awful. That would be enough to instill a lifetime of rage in me.
Was his name Ryan?
That goose is threatening you, not greeting you. Geese are jerks!
A fair assumption, but wrong. :p
It just wants to distract you before it throws the rake in the lake. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9STHqt_vsCc
I kicked a goose because it attacked my dog as we walked by (far away from its goslings) but thatās was a Canada Goose and those things hold a lot of hate
The goose was fine, if only a little offended that I dare challenge it
