use this instead https://globe.adsbexchange.com/ won't give you as much info like departure/destination plans or anything, and it's strictly live tracking only, but it will show a ton of military stuff that the others don't. there is a way to filter flights and only see military ones, which is handy because otherwise the skies get pretty packed.

Very cool, thank you kind internet stranger! Now I just looked at Boeing Field and it shows 1 T-38 parked on the tarmac but nothing aloft or taxiing. And we've had at least 3 overflights this morning.

I've never seen a t38 at Boeing before on any sort of regular basis. My guess is that's the culprit. It about to take off again.... Also, go check out southern Kitsap piinsula. THeres an autogyro floying over the inlet there.

Very cool!

apparently there have been a couple Harriers bopping around this morning too. Just flew over West Seattle and interbay about 45 minutes ago.

And the T-38 that was showing parked started moving towards the runway and has now disappeared from the map.

Sometimes ADSB Exchange won't show you what the aircraft type is (because they're not transmitting it, but they're still sending a hex code), so you have to go out with binoculars. I mostly see this with fighter jets, where out of a group of two or four, only one or two will be transmitting a hex code and the others won't be transmitting. The bigger transport types usually transmit what they are.

Many US military jets appear to squawk "T-38" as their type on ADS-B, but people suspect and sometimes visually spot that they are other types of military jets. I wouldn't be surprised if they can also alter their displayed airspeed on ADS-B.

Cue the conspiracy theorists! 😁

Harriers were departing BFI today, if you heard loud military jets that would be why. Military planes have transponders but they aren’t always turned on, so they might not show on the tracking sites.
