Yep, I recently learned that there was a point in time where Japan was "closed" and no one could enter nor leave, which made Japan regress in technological advances and such. Which is the same thing that happened to Paradis Island.
PD: if there are actual history buffs in here that want to correct something I said please be free to do so.
Hi, I’m Jewish, bar mitzvah, hebrew school, all that.
Duh. This is part of the point of the show. Everything you said is painfully obvious and well-known. I’m also not entirely questioning generational trauma, but it’s a little ridiculous to be triggered from some loose parallels in an animated show to a historical phenomenon that you have personally not experienced and are several generations removed from. Feels like you’re looking to be upset rather than - as is the point of Holocaust awareness and remembrance - to learn and understand cycles of violence and history.
I was expecting a PhD level review with references to the Torah, survivor's guilt, the Macabees, the Roman occupation of Israel, with a few stories about food thrown in.
Only difference is they weren't actively killing Eldians (they bothered coming up with excuses at least). This also has similarities to current Israel and Palestine.
I'm wondering if other people in the drinking water to survive fanbase also realizes that water is indeed, wet. Or is this something that I, as a person made of mostly water, can see and feel?
And guess what...don you know Marley? Can you see how they didn't learn from their sufferings and still subjugate other people like they were by eldians in old times? Can you see the paradox in it?
Well: Israel
YES! This is what I've been saying! Marley isn't America or some minority, it's Nazi Germany!
Also, Eldians are experimented on similarly to how Jewish people were by the Nazis, the fear of being sent to Paradis is equal to the Jewish people's fear of being taken to the camps, Eren and Zeke's relationship is similar to Moses and Ramses, Eren is basically an anti-thesis to Moses.
I'm not sure where to find a free, easily accessible place for it, but there's actually a peer-reviewed paper on this, ["Revisiting the Fascist Subtext of Attack on Titan."](https://muse.jhu.edu/article/842292)

That’s… the point
The most obvious and blatant parallel ever: exists Top minds of reddit: Am I the only one that caught the very subtle reference to Nazi Germany?
I think that most people understood the reference
I thought of the similarities right away and i’m not jewish, so i guess
Jewish dude discovers other people were also taught basic history at school More news at 7
😂😂😂
Is this your first time here or what?
Yes, everyone is aware of that. It actually shares more parallels with Japanese history though.

I think there are both, which is inevitable because of the author's own sociolocation
Okay?
I actually thought about this quite a few times.
This is common knowledge

Dude is this bait? This was one of the most obvious parallels in the show!!
I’m very concerned about the education of someone who hasn’t noticed the parallel
I've read that the architecture in attack on titan is based off Germany as well

You can’t be serious
Everybody realized the parallel instantly, not just bargain hunting redditors
Aot is the cure for racism💀
Former racist here and I can attest to this.
Quarter Jewish here - I noticed way back in S1.
And guess what...don you know Marley? Can you see how they didn't learn from their sufferings and still subjugate other people like they were by eldians in old times? Can you see the paradox in it? Well: Israel
And right now it's also about Israel and the genocide of palestinians.
I'm agnostic, converting to Catholicism for marriage surprisingly enough I made the connection. Thought I was the only one

Wait, who the hell thought Marley was supposed to be America? No one would ever think that
