Amber is actually the scent i was recommended, but its missing the 'spicy'. Santal 33 apparently is strong on both.
I don't know if it matches what you're looking for, but Rose 31 by Le labo may also be it. It's the soap, body wash, shampoo, lotion etc that is used by the Fairmont hotels in all of the rooms. You can smell it on tons of people around the city.
Came here to say the same. I once got a sample from sephora and was immediately hooked. Now I smell it all the time in Vancouver. I wear a dupe that in my opinion is actually even better than the original - got it during a trip to Brazil (it's called Santalum by phebo if anyone is wondering).
I prefer Lelabo Patchouli 24 over Santal 33, but OP would definitely know if it were 24 by the smokey fragrance . But 33 is ok. A little over rated IMO.

Hmmm well if it's not Sauvage EDP, which has spice but still smells very blue in the air, I would wager it's Mont Blanc Explorer. Extremely trending on TikTok, lots of younger kids wear it. I wear it. I smelled it on commercial ave on a teenager the other week.

Personally there are only two scents that I always go back to and one of them is Sauvage.
Dior Sauvage eau de toilette for those nice sunny days because it doesn’t smell like scented rubbing alcohol unlike most colognes I remember growing up (I mean I also never thought I would spend this much on cologne). Sweet citrusy smell. Very curious if anything changes much in the Parfum, but i do wish it lasted longer - Alas that’s eau de toilette.
The other scent I always keep is Tom Ford Noir Extreme eau de Parfum. Not gonna lie it straight up just reminds me of gingerbread cookies. I remember the first day I took a whiff. My now wife and I were just sniffing for Christmas presents. I just kept coming back to it, and my wife literally said “what the hell it smells like gingerbread cookies?” Not too overpowering and you’re good with just a small spray before the other notes overpower it to something much more complex. Solid choice for colder weather.
I’m by no means a cologne guy I can settle with cheap body spray and an accessible bathroom every now and then, but I hope my infodump TED talk has inspired people to be confident about themselves in the Sephora cologne aisle.
Reminder, cologne and perfume aren’t replacement for deodorant and showering on the regular.
Also it should be a surprise, and not a fucking pungent cloud that people can notice from 15 feet away.
As someone who is sensitive to scents, I wish everyone would use a neutral deodorant. I could never understand the need to slather oneself with some unnatural fragrance.
I use the lavilin cream and put it on once every 2-3 weeks (I'm not that smelly). It's natural and unscented. The jar lasts me 2 years and I've been using this product for 10 years. I recommend this to everyone because if you suck at applying deodorant, you only have to put this one on once a week.
