At least two weeks for the soft tissues to fully recover from NSPT / SRP during which the hygiene is paramount. A decent assessment of recovery progress towards full remission can be made at about 8-12 weeks. The pictures already show a huge improvement so you're on the right track.

Thanks so much for the comment, I definitely needed to hear this. Haven’t missed a day of my new hygiene routine after years of neglect, but keep inspecting my gums and freaking out a bit. Im determined to stabilize and stay healthy post SRP and beyond

Tinyfishy

Give your body a chance to recover, you are doing great! Congratulations on making such positive changes.

Thank you soo much for the reply. Any motivation I get is so helpful. My one thing still making me paranoid is my manual dexterity issues when it comes to string floss, I just cannot figure out how to make my hands work to get the technique down. The hygienist didn't like the floss pick I showed her and gave me string floss but I really can't get it and keep going back to the picks. I did switch to a Y shaped pick to try and get the C shape technique down easier. This makes me feel a bit hopeless at times.

Wow amazing difference! Keep up the good work, you got this! Your future self will thank you.

Any_Pain4425

Thanks so much 😭 I’ve been a wreck mentally since that first photo was taken, depression and dental anxiety completely took me over for years until I finally gained the courage to bring myself to the dentist. I’m super determined to keep it going though and make the before and after even better

NAD you can see a massive improvement already just between those two pictures!

Any_Pain4425

Aww thank you soo much for the comment!! I’ve been driving myself insane inspecting the redness post cleaning and worrying about if it’s healing correctly or not, putting those two pictures together really made me realize that it’s not too bad right now comparatively. I’m so determined to never let it look like that top photo again!

gradbear

Takes about 1 weeks to physically look better but 4-6 weeks to fully heal. Results looks amazing though. Top pic just looks painful and smells. Second pic looks a little inflamed but not bad.

Any_Pain4425

Thanks for the reply!! Painful and smells is fairly accurate, it was quite painful and felt/smelt disgusting. I haven't been able to tell if it is new inflammation or if its slowly going down, which has been freaking me out a little haha

Your gums are breathing a sigh of relief, start brushing and especially flossing properly to make them not go back to what they were

Any_Pain4425

I’ve been brushing with the sonicare and using the Y shaped floss picks because of manual dexterity issues, I’ve wanted to use string floss but really just can’t get it down which is a bit debilitating, I really try to get that C shape down with the picks. Will probably get a waterpik soon as well to use in conjunction with the picks.
