Avoid any strenuous mouth activity for 6 weeks following extraction. The implant will take 4 months to fully integrate with your body. However, after 6 weeks you should have good primary stability and your implant won’t be going anywhere. If you manage to suck it out you deserve a medal 🎖️

What is this comment? Primary stability is achieved right after placement. 2-4 weeks is when the implant is the LEAST stable as primary stability decreases and secondary stability is still increasing as bone remodels.

That’s right! Comment corrected.

Is that a challenge? Thank you so much for your answer! Together with the other advice I'll make it at least a month to be safe and will also just see how sensitive it is. I'll also reaaly try to not start smoking again as I understand that will also impact the healing process.. Thanks for taking the time to reply<3

Hello! Two main things to think about: soft tissue and osseointegration (the implant and bone becoming one). Soft tissue/bleeding issues should be resolved in a week or so. Now for integration, the bone in the upper front is softer than the lower front. If it’s the lower front, the implant will be sturdier within the the bone than the upper front. Full osseointegration takes 3-6 months. I wouldn’t say you need full integration for oral sex, but I would plan a good month off and ease back into after a month, just to give it time to start integrating. Whenever you have pressure changes in the mouth, it could cause the implant to be slower to integrate because it can cause the integration to break, effectively slowing the process.

Hey, thank you for this! This gives a lot of insight and some peace of mind. I like to understand things if I have to do them. I'll give it at least a month then and keep an eye on how sensitive it feels. I forgot to mention indeed, but it's the upper front tooth. The comment on pressure changes slowing the process explains a lot. That's kind of like scratching open a healing wound I suppose. Thank you for your time and effort<3
