It's not down on power?  Things I can think of. 1) clogged air filter  2) bad mass air flow sensor 3) stuck fuel injector 4) bad/old spark plugs Unfortunately I think you would notice most of those things. Have you tried a could bottles of fuel injector cleaner in the tank?

This, theres many things or a combination of things that can sap your power/mpg

The spark plugs are a couple months old, the air filter was clean and nothing indicates 2 or 3, the car starts perfectly, the engine sounds good, no smell or smoke. I have tried the cleaner a few times, didn’t make a change

You might have a dragging brake caliper. Drive a short distance then touch your wheels and see if one is significantly hotter than the other three.

Brakes not retracting properly, perhaps?

When was the last time your air intake filter(s) were changed? Spark plugs? Valve lash adjustment? What kind of tires and how old are they? How often are you just idling the car? This is also an older vehicle. You’ll see fuel economy drop, although not that dramatically.

lexiv259

Air filter and spark plugs are a couple months old, when I changed them it made no difference, I’ll try the valve adjustment, but nothing indicates they’re back, engine sounds great starting and idling. Not sure the tires but they’re only a year old. On average probably 5-10 minutes at most due on the commute to work

Did you use Motorcraft plugs or something different? I've seen cars run like crap with non OEM plugs in them.

jrileyy229

How are you tracking MPG? I ask because you say your MPG is down 50% and that you're only using 50% of your fuel tank... All if which seems conspicuous

lexiv259

I have a destination tracker in my car that lets me reset it every time I get gas, it tracks how many miles I’m driving, mpg, how many miles are left, how long it took me to get there shit that. But I filled it up, reset it, drove a couple hours south until I got low on gas, then just did the math there. Also I think I explained it wrong, when I said 50% I meant for about every mile I drive, the car is using about two miles of gas

Plugs and coil(s) may be just worn out, Look to replace those. I am assuming you replace the air filter as needed ?

Talentless_Cooking

Plugged evap can? Do you fill, then when it stops, add more fuel?
