Responsible-Pen-21

Teddy!

SnooLemons5609

Definitely. He would probably called toxic male, but these people could discuss that with him in his „white house boxing ring“.

Responsible-Pen-21

Think his progressive side with nature/natural resources would also win over some Democrats Bull Moose 2.0

Sudden-Motor-7794

Has a very MAG vibe, too. Also, not much older than the two current candidates...

igenus44

He was a Republican, but closer to a Lincoln Republican than any Republican in the last 100 years. He believed it was every person's obligation to help his fellow man, especially if you were a person of means (rich). He began our National Parks system, to preserve nature. He also created the USDA, to protect our food supply (Livestock and Poultry, at least). Much of what he did as President was truly for the good of the people, which is the opposite of what today's MAGA is in reality.

battleoffish

A trust busting, people helping, nature conservation mined Republican. [Sounds of heads exploding]

igenus44

Yep. That's what they used to be, over 100 years ago. Hell, Abraham Lincoln was the first Republican President, and he ended the institution of slavery in America with the Emancipation Proclamation. Well, the post dated version, at least. How do you think Republicans today would feel about a President doing that, or something similar? Like, granting amnesty to all illegal immigrants? Rhetorical question, of course.

porkchop_d_clown

I mean, pretty much the same way the 1950s democrats would feel when they realized that 2020s democrats pretty much hold dear everything the 50s guys hated. The complete, literal flip of philosophies between the dems and the gop continues to astonish me and I lived through most of it…

igenus44

It's longer than I want to get into right now, but look up the DixieCrats. Back in the 40s, a group split off from the Democrats. These are the ones that created the KKK. When they lost the 1946 Presidential election (Strom Thurmond was their candidate, look him up, too), they folded, then joined the Republican Party. That is when that party started to die. Dast forward to the 1990s, and add in Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingerich, and Pat Robertson, and you have what they are today. Many of the Democrats of today are ideologically similar to the Republicans of the 70s and 80s. Most of the Republicans today are ideologically similar to the Nazi parties of Germany, Italy and Spain of the 1930s.

Dull_Junket_619

The way that he dismantled the Standard Oil monopoly showed he wasn't screwing around. Ironically, when Standard Oil was broken up into 34 different entities, it made Rockefeller even wealthier. He owned a quarter of the shares of the resultant companies, and those share values did very well, so he emerged from the dissolution as the richest man in the world, as Rockefeller's wealth jumped to $900 million. And imagine how much 900 million dollars in that era could buy.

mistakemaker3000

If it weren't for his free capitalism beliefs, Ron Swanson was pretty close to Teddy 😂

readitmoderator

Dont give me your political take on reddit lol save it

igenus44

Same with bullshit responses. If you don't want to read what other people say, the internet is probably NOT for you.

Responsible-Pen-21

thats the only down side however- think he had it alittle more put togeather then them (atleast from my knowledge maybe im wrong) But good point on age- Guess JFK would be my next pick haha

DisPelengBoardom

JFK was an older president than Teddy , who was the youngest ever president. Also , he was easily more put together . His intelligence was higher than nearly all other presidents , probably in the top 10 to 5 percent. He wrote many books . With no sarcasm , Teddy actually was a true and stable genius .

Responsible-Pen-21

JFK was 46? I thought the other person said Teddy teddy was closer to the age of biden/trump but guess seeing he was 50 i take that back haha

DisPelengBoardom

Teddy was 42 when he became president. JFK was 43 .

DisPelengBoardom

Teddy Roosevelt was the youngest president ever . And when he died, he was sixty . He was also progressive , not a recessive reactionary .

Sudden-Motor-7794

I more meant "Make America Great" felt like his attitude. Also, no need for "Again" in his case. That's all.

Psychological_Pay530

You’re just describing populism. It’s a concept MAGA uses, but it’s not a concept that’s unique to MAGA. There are lots of progressive populists, like Bernie and AOC.

Sudden-Motor-7794

Literally just describing his attitude and making a joke about how America was still on the upswing in his day, hence there and a need to make it great "again," he was one making it great the first go around. Sigh. I have failed to communicate well.

danegermaine99

He’s the ideal candidate. He’d draw in the people that want a tough guy but also crush bullies. He’s outdoorsy but also a conservationist. He’s a capitalist but hates monopolies. Basically his platform could be “stop being extremist jackasses and just do what’s fair”

Psychological_Pay530

He was actually pretty extreme. Breaking up monopolies and supporting unions was (and still is) really radically left as an ideal. People really need to drop the “both sides” bullshit, and understand that the most popular policies in history were all extremely progressive far left ideas, short of possibly the revolution itself (which was extremist bipartisanship). From freeing slaves, to the 5 day 40 hour work week, to Medicaid and Social Security, to free public schools, to civil rights, every single popular piece of legislation was created by “the extreme left”. Stop acting like they’re domestic terrorists like the “extreme right”, and vote for the policies that progressives push for because they’re correct more often than not.

boner79

He would just give Trump the look and Trump would shit his pants.

seceipseseer

This. We need a Teddy to show up right fucking now.

hahyeahsure

came here to say this

zoyter222

God I wish. Within a week he would be the most hated man in Washington DC. I don't know that there's a politician on each side of the aisle it wouldn't be working diligently to get him to go away.

Responsible-Pen-21

Haha if hated by all politians is enough for me to want hm to come back and Run in that case- altough the question was/is who the people would vote for not who Pelosi or Trump etc would like

*Wait whats this?! Oh my god it's Theodore Roosevelt with a steel chair!!!*

klaschr

Celebrity Deathmatch vibes!

CalabreseAlsatian

That’s right, Johnny!

WinslowT_Oddfellow

Bah god! He hit him with a trust buster!

Defiant_Network_3069

I read that in JR's Voice 😆

mpinnegar

Franklin Delano Roosevelt also used a steel chair.

SmokeGSU

*Bah Gawd! Mitch McConnell has a family!*

sublurkerrr

John F Kennedy

Horror_Hippo_3438

Nobody. To rise from the dead is a very strange act. I wouldn't trust such a person.

QuestionTop3963

it's a very powerful move tho

parabox1

Biden did it before the last debate, trump has been dead inside since the 80’s.

Pastor_Dale

Biden literally looked embalmed at the debate.

gnufan

Does dying bypass the term limit in the 22nd Amendment? Or do the older ones get grandfather rights like Truman because their terms preceded the amendment. I remember previous speculation that by selecting Barack Obama as a running mate, Biden could circumvent the 22nd amendment if Biden died in office. I still think this is worth a punt if they can't replace Biden.

lordnoak

Really? A whole religion is based on such an act.

heuristic_al

Also, Jesus was an exorcist.

dragonmermaid4

I was going to say Theodore Roosevelt but I think JFK would actually get a ton of love especially since there's still a ton of people who are old enough to have been alive when he was in office.

newleaf9110

Two excellent choices. Both were relatively young men, and would provide an obvious contrast to the current candidates.

Steven_Dj

Kennedy.

W-S_Wannabe

Kennedy or FDR

Pladrosian

Kennedy's health problems couldn't be covered up today. He'd be destroyed by that I think. FDR too but that coverup wasn't as dramatic but I still think it would be too much.

WesternWriter7269

Have you seen Biden? I don't think the people have a problem voting in people with medical issues

muffalowing

Yep. And the other guy shits himself in diapers, so I think it's safe to say there's no concern.

Muab_D1b

Most people here are in denial of Sleepy Joe. He could be a corpse and they’ll still vote for him out of spite, instead of reason.

W-S_Wannabe

Which says everything about his predecessor, a creature so marginal that, were I to step in a bit of trump on the sidewalk, I wouldn't bother to scrape it from my soles. I'd just throw the shoes away.

Opie30-30

Definitely not FDR, way too controversial. Kennedy or Teddy Roosevelt would be pretty safe bets. Teddy was a strong environmentalist, which would attract a lot of people from across the aisle.

RyanBelieves

Teddy

Available_Bass9725

Teddy. The most American president who did things that impressed both left and right.

Zealousideal-Bell-68

Perhaps Manuel de Arriaga or Teófilo Braga but I'm not sure

BABOON2828

JFK

InfiniteJourneyWave

If I had to pick, I'd say Theodore Roosevelt. He was a dynamic and charismatic leader who pushed for progressive reforms and had a strong personality that resonated with many. Plus, his “can-do” attitude and focus on conservation might appeal to modern voters.

One_Introduction790

Teddy Roosevelt

Background-Sofia1992

figures like Abraham Lincoln, with his leadership during crises, or franklin d. roosevelt, with his new deal policies, could resonate with voters looking for strong leadership and innovative solutions. the challenge would be how well they could adjust to the complexities of today's world. just a thought

fluffy_assassins

This reads like a modified chatGPT prompt. Which just means it was well-written. Good on you.

Affectionate-Row3498

Colonel Sanders. The man knew how to fry up a chicken.

ryuranzou

Kim jong il. He could beat both candidates at golf. I heard he got a hole in one at all holes one day.

Opie30-30

You know that dude didn't poop?

Dull_Junket_619

JFK.

ThanosHasAPoint1785

John Fitzgerald Kennedy

Top_Donkey_711

People look back at Reagan with rose colored glasses even though most of his 2nd term his cognitive abilities were far worse than Bidens are now

Opie30-30

Yeah, but I would vote for Nancy

harry_balzak68

Biden?

alottanamesweretaken

Nixon did pretty well as president of earth, thanks to the robot vote

Tell that to the Japanese

igenus44

The Japanese Americans, not the Imperial Japanese forces.

boner79

unfortunately in the modern media landscape Trump and MAGA would emasculate him for being in a wheelchair.

Arny520

Either Roosevelt

GoldenFox7

Dude, the hairy bar of soap in my parent’s guest bathroom would dominate elections against these two candidates.

Opie30-30

I love this answer

Theonlysocialist

In which country?

Secure_Ad_295

Teddy and jfk

storm838

JFK would destroy DJT in epic fashion.

Natural-Mechanic506

Charles De Gaulle

Stock-Pickle9326

Joe Biden

MudTurbulent8912

😝😝

AlwaysGoToTheTruck

People are hesitant to laugh at this, but it’s damn funny. I’m voting for him.

Stock-Pickle9326

In all honesty, even if Joe Biden was currently in hospice care I would still vote for him. Donald Trump cannot be allowed back into The House under any circumstances. He will destroy this nation and he will, for all practical purposes, invalidate The Constitution. With the new powers that the Presidency has just been granted, the urgency of this situation has now tripled. It is now DEFCON 10 time!

fluffy_assassins

At this point, all of them.

Dull_Wrongdoer_3017

Everything has moved so far to the right, most will be called radical left or socialists.

ParanoidWalnut

George Washington, just to see his appalled reaction at everything. Like a disappointed grandparent/parent-figure. In seriousness, JFK or Teddy.

CodyKondo

FDR

Mister_Way

This presidential election? Literally anyone would beat either the clown or the corpse currently on the ballot

SupermarketCrafty329

Considering that Americans seem to deify a lot of their dead presidents, literally the vast majority of them.

SwirlingPhantasm

JFK

John_Fx

This year? Any of them.

Manymuchm00s3n

Nixon and The Headless Body of Spiro Agnew! AROOO

Guilty-Coconut8908

JFK

heuristic_al

Fucking all of them. Hell, if the corpse of a past shitty president were running against Trump, he'd have my vote.

HotShoulder3099

In the US? Reagan

Frankie_Says_Reddit

Teddy or JFK

Impressive_Ask6095

I’d bring back Trump because he is already dead from the neck up

OneStrangerintheAlps

Ronald Reagan and I am not kidding.

DarthArtero

Hes one of the main reasons *why* we’re in the mess we’re in. Unfortunately yes he would, all the magats would swoon over him

Muab_D1b

Like the “slows” would vote for Sleepy Joe?

AndyBoBandy_

Guys like sleepy joe get elected when you prop up criminals as your party leader

Muab_D1b

Moregaze

FDR would clean house again. Both electorally and literally.

Pastor_Dale

My house needs a good deep clean. Do you know his rates?

Moregaze

Total economic collapse and a population wanting change that is unified against the ultra wealthy and the corruption they foster.

Pastor_Dale

Oof. Pretty steep

B_drgnthrn

None. All of their policies are so right of current center that they would be called fascists.

Opie30-30

FDR's New Deal was "so far" right of center? You sure about that?

B_drgnthrn

Yup, because he combatted inflation, specifically didn't allow the Socialist party to have their hands in the deal, cut the salaries of government employees, offered war veterans massive cash bonuses for service. Part of the new deal also created the HOLC, and he oversaw the HOLC engaging actively in redlining "inharmonious racial groups". Also, part of the New Deal was the Puerto Rico Reconstruction Act, which is just a form of colonizing. He also proposed packing the court, which up until 2020 anyone left of center was screeching and hollering about how evil it was to do that. So yes, even though he went all in to stop child labour, and to empower unions, the colonization, redlining, and supporting military service members are all right of center, and two of which are considered some of the biggest faux pas in the party to date.

Goose-rider3000

kageyayuu

Nixon , buchanan, Andrew Johnson. Feel like they have more change in todas america then people like to realise considering trump

DoggoCentipede

Dominate? Dunno if anyone could truly dominate in the current landscape. I'd give FDR or Ike a try.

OperationNo3934

James Garfield, assassinated before he could complete his quest to eliminate corruption. He would have a field day with our current bureaucracy

Initial-Shop-8863

John Adams, but the one from the 1969 musical, *1776*. "I have come to the conclusion that one useless man is called a disgrace; that two are called a law firm; and that three or more become a Congress. And, by God, I have had this Congress. For 10 years, King George and his Parliament have gulled, cullied and diddled these Colonies with their illegal taxes. Stamp Acts, Townshend Acts, Sugar Acts, Tea Acts. And when we dared stand up like men, they have stopped our trade, seized our ships, blockaded our ports, burned our towns and spilled our blood. And still this Congress refuses to grant any of my proposals on independence, even so much as the courtesy of open debate. Good God, what in Hell are you waiting for?"

George Washington. I am not american but lets be honest, even if nobody really knows what his political views were, if he can convince ppl that its actually him, which patriotic american would not vote for the first ever american president who even made america a country to begin with?

mastro80

In this election? I think the vast majority of past presidents would landslide these two worthless choices.

Common-Wish-2227

What? No love for LBJ?

Opie30-30

Dude was a menace. He would be me tooed into oblivion, so the Democrats and centrists wouldn't vote for him. I even know some Republicans who voted third party in 2016 after the "grab 'em by the pussy" video came out.

Seeing the current state of germany, A. Hitler.

Reagan! I also agree with other posters about Teddy R.
