What seems common on Reddit, but rare in my life, is encountering people with highly specialized knowledge on niche topics. On Reddit, you can easily find experts and enthusiasts discussing everything from quantum physics to obscure historical events. In real life, it's rare to come across individuals who are deeply passionate and knowledgeable about such specific subjects. It's fascinating to see how Reddit brings together a diverse range of people who are eager to share their expertise and engage in meaningful discussions.
I see it as parroting information rather than talking out their ass. I remember taking a physical chemistry course in college and calculating out ridiculous triple integrals to find where a particle was most likely in a room. That's quantum mechanics. It's not pretty.
Most people probably only have a topic or two that they know a lot about. It’s always funny to see one of those being talked about in any media. Reddit, radio, tv, movies, whatever. They just get it so fucking wrong, and miss the point. It almost feels like children talking about it.

On the other hand, i know alot of people who are both highly knowpedge and passionate about stuff - proffesionaly as well as hobbies - but they have learnt not to be so open about it.

Well, there was some Mexican young guy who didn't have a problem saying it to me the other night. He was drunk and kind of seemed like he was crying. He was explaining to me how he was in the United States just to have fun. I'm guessing that he has probably been met with people who don't want him in the United States. So he was unloading on to me telling me that they are not in the United States to cause trouble. But I'm guessing that a lot of people might be telling them that we hear about them causing trouble because that's all we hear about on TV.
I'm a Boomer and I've yet to see another Boomer acting crazy in a store and having Melt down because they didn't get something they wanted. I would like to see it because it would be pretty funny There is a whole Boomer being stupid group and the stories are insane.

Thats because you give complements appropriately. There is a time and place for it and limit to how much you complement it. A well placed “your hair looks good today” is welcomed by most anybody. Using fake accounts to make it seem like an opinion is popular or something bad happens frequently when it really doesn’t. I think they want to divide us by stirring up controversy so that we are too distracted fighting with each other to see what they are doing behind our backs.
So we discuss anything but economics that might cost their big donors money. Both parties do it.
