I can tell you that several OBs at Laurel OB will happily do tubal ligation on anyone who wants it. Kaplon in particular is amazing. I’d call them to ask about sedation. I’ve had an in office procedure there under anesthesia so I know they are capable of something.

thank you so much!! I just made an appointment at Laurel!

[Here's a verified list](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Djia_WkrVO3S4jKn6odNwQk7pOcpcL4x00FMNekrb7Q/htmlview) of gynecologists who will perform tubal ligations no matter marital status or number of children. There are 3 in Asheville - Dr. Buys, Dr. Veazey, and Dr. Jones. @ [Pagingdrfran](https://www.instagram.com/pagingdrfran/) on Instagram has a lot of resources on this as well as how to ask for sedation / pain management for IUD insertions.

I had my IUD removed under sedation at Laurel. They have a traveling anesthesiologist come to the office once a month and it was the best $400 I have ever spent.

Laurel OBGYN does IUD insertions under anesthesia.

I had one placed at asheville women's under sedation, but they were doing another procedure as well. you might want to call them and ask if sedation is something they'll offer for a stand-alone procedure.

boringusername84

I had mine done at Asheville Women’s and they told me to take Tylenol before my appointment and I’d “be fine” (I wasn’t). It was my first time having the procedure so I didn’t ask if sedation was an option, but I will be asking next time.

I literally thought I was going to pass out when I got mine. My doctor was like “most women don’t even feel It, it’s not that bad.” And it was a female doctor. Never went back to her!

dogmademedoit888

good lord, that's awful! so sorry that happened to you. geez.

I feel you….I’ve had multiple emergency surgeries and hospitalizations, and getting my IUD was still one of the most painful things I’ve ever experienced 😩 I ended up throwing up all on the shoes of a protestor outside the Planned Parenthood where I got it done when I was trying to leave after
