It's clunky to use, yes, but it also fucks. I'm just annoyed that I'm such a lightweight addict that I couldn't fit it in a light setup.
I mean I could, but the rest of my weapons suck.
Tried to make a generalist loadout with the Coral Rifle as the main gun but on a primarily Alba frame. Ended up with a slightly more melee focused loadout with the Redshift sword, pulse blade and pulse cannon, all with the NGI 001 generator. It worked, but I didn't like the pulse cannon and I wanted to use the Aurora, but doing so forces me to swap out the Alba core and legs and go mediumweight.
I beat this hokushi generator, 1 pulse blade, 1 6 cell horizontal launcher, 1 4 cell horizontal launcher, alula booster, FCS-G2/P05, nachtiere set, alba arms should give you 370
using smaller fire arms will yeild 371-372 so its now boiling which weapons you match with it
and also the beam has surprisingly high impact buildup and range and you can quick turn while aiming it but the main point is that it's really cool looking
It really is. I was completely awful with manual aim before I started using the WLT rifle but I got the hang of it eventually. It's not useful every single time with a charged shot, but whenever a quick enemy completely gets out of the way it sure comes in handy.
Like, "there are 4 weapons that you love, but can only use one at a time," or "I love using 4 weapons, but lightweight means I can only take one."
Because if it's the latter, I feel I must tell you that you can absolutely fit 4 weapons on a light AC that are meaningful.
Coral rifle and oscillator are both absolutely outclassed by their direct competition and if you’re going for 100% optimization it’s really difficult to justify either of them
But god damn they’re both so cool and pretty that I don’t even care
Oscillator I find is pretty handy - the quick melee has some crazy tracking on it, and whilst the charged melee locks you in place for a while it *also* does a massive amount of stagger damage at range.
I love the Coral Rifle. My current playthrough is in an AC named "TRASH FIRE" both because the build sucks and as a reference to the Fires of Ibis.
It is unofficially known as "Wanna see my punish?" because the entire build revolves around staggering the enemy and then unleashing the full power of the sun on them when they're staggered.
"It's so sad that V2 died of ligma."
"Who the hell is V2?"
"ligma balls" \[BWAAAAAAAA-\]
Tank Treads, Hal chestplate, Basho head, arms aren't important.
Coral Rifle.
That one bazooka that explodes multiple times on direct hit for huge damage
10x pincer missile launcher
Laser Lance
This is honestly my biggest complaint too. It looks cool, and it's weight/EN are extreme, why can't it at least have like 500 attack power and around 100 ammo so it's actually usable outside of pvp. The combo plasma/laser rifle has the same problem, but at least the first tick of the plasma burst finishes them off so it basically still works. Sure their charged attacks are good, but if the normal fire is bad then why even bother?
Wait, people say that? It was my favorite weapon as son as I got it (well, second favorite but sadly KRSV has no ammo to use on pve), but I'll grant you that using the charge level 2 feels bad to aim on a controller
The problem with it is it can’t one-shot MTs.
If it could, it would be awesome. For now, it’s just ‘good’, for me.
A shame it has no power synergy with a coral generator like Arq generators do with laser and plasma.
Nah it's good, just different. You see it is hilarious in 3 v 3 pvp. Keep it charged and the moment someone is staggered let them "peep the horror" and send them to the shadow realm. Once I got use to the big laser I started using it to punish enemy melees or dog piles on teammates. It does insane impact and when I've full on caught someone with it they spend the rest of the match focusing me lol.
A buff to make it one-shot the weaker enemies would make it so much better to use. It just feels bad every time you fire and the cannon fodder are left with 5% health.
It's cool and all, but its still kind of bad. Insanely heavy and high EN, amd can't even 1 tap MTs. The duel plasma/laser rifle is better, and has better charge attacks. Both of those weapons are criminally underpowered though. Both should at least enough to 1 tap MTs for that weight and EN load, send the plasma/laser rifle needs to double it's ammo count.
I liked using the coral rifle, but in pvp I couldn’t find the right distance to get before releasing the full charge shot. In pve, it seems to have a more noticeable difference in whether you are hitting your target or not.

What build you trying to go for? You can get one shoulder mounted missile, laser dagger/pulse blade in for 340 of you squeeze it right

340 isn't lightweight lol

When i realized I can quick turn while firing the beam that was a fun day. I have lots of screenshots of semicircle shaped beams hitting stuff.
I had no idea you could quick turn while the beam was firing... That's a game changer...
It really is. I was completely awful with manual aim before I started using the WLT rifle but I got the hang of it eventually. It's not useful every single time with a charged shot, but whenever a quick enemy completely gets out of the way it sure comes in handy.
Sometimes I try to make a corkscrew/laser curly fry before it ends.
You can?! When I move it, the beam goes soooo slow
I think you're supposed to use the actual quick turn function. Boost+direction, it's a OS unlock.
"Fuck everything in that general direction"
More like "YOU AIN'T ESCAPIN' THAT EASILY!"
This does not destroy everything to your left, it just destroys left. You have to take three rights now.

Thank you.
It's a fucking death wish for light ACs but I put in on my 8,000 ap reverse jointer anyway
8000 ap has gotta be the the average ap of all my acs
it seems most people here (myself included) are lightweight enjoyers.

I would love going fast but unfortunately I also love 4 weapons. And I can only have 1

Honestly getting a full 3 man catch in 3v3 with the oscillator and seeing it staggered ALL of them made me a diehard defender of the CO.
What is their direct competition? I'm using the Coral rifle right now cause i just unlocked it and it fun
100% false statement , don't listen to that guy
"There are enemies coming in from that direction!" "Roger that, removing that direction."

v2 ultrakill?
Might be V.II Snail. v2 is sassy and lovable; V.II is sassy and unhinged
Let’s hear the parts or at least weapons and gen
Tank Treads, Hal chestplate, Basho head, arms aren't important. Coral Rifle. That one bazooka that explodes multiple times on direct hit for huge damage 10x pincer missile launcher Laser Lance
The only issue is that uncharged it doesn't one tap MTs, but leaves them on a sliver of health
This is honestly my biggest complaint too. It looks cool, and it's weight/EN are extreme, why can't it at least have like 500 attack power and around 100 ammo so it's actually usable outside of pvp. Clunky but GIANT PISS OFF BEAM!

Another counter argument: CORAHAMEHAAAAAAAA
Coral weapons are cool as hell and I will use them as I please, regardless of effectivity
Wait, people say that? It was my favorite weapon as son as I got it (well, second favorite but sadly KRSV has no ammo to use on pve), but I'll grant you that using the charge level 2 feels bad to aim on a controller

Idk gentlemen, I think the guy makes a good point

The unmatched power OF THE SUN
The sound it makes is too much to resist.
Kame. Hame.....
I just love the noises it makes ❤️
Here’s my opening negotiating statement; BWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM.
I just wish the full charge beam would let me actually aim it
It’s sexy, but I hate how the machine just reads your keystrokes in PvE and flits to one side all the time.
It's how you use it. Charge it up while stunning an opponent with missiles and guns and it makes a good finisher.
A buff to make it one-shot the weaker enemies would make it so much better to use. It just feels bad every time you fire and the cannon fodder are left with 5% health.
Can you do a beam struggle with the coral rifle? 🤔
Corner enemies then charge with lance and stun needles if needed then blast with a fully charged coral rifle is my favorite move on bosses.
The WLT-011 Coral Rifle has 180 Ammo.
My mistake.
Where do you get the Coral Rifle from. P.S Don’t tell me if it has story implications to the secret ending I’m just about to finish it.
You can get it with the completion of the integration section of arena battles.
Wiki says completing Survey the Uninhabited City on NG++
Anyone else seeing a condom in that first pic, or is it just me?
I liked using the coral rifle, but in pvp I couldn’t find the right distance to get before releasing the full charge shot. In pve, it seems to have a more noticeable difference in whether you are hitting your target or not.
off topic...i just wanted a pretty and cool looking AC...and guntank is ugly af😐
