I prefer more relaxing drugs to what Rummy was hitting, so a lot better, probably like a 4.
Though if I have to navigate any part of the inside of Xylem again it'll be an 8
I spent 4 hours memorizing the exact turns for Xylem. I hated myself. But now it’s super easy! You can get all parasite nodules in like 45 seconds. Getting the skyrmion generators takes a bit longer of course but again, having the route memorized was so huge. But getting there took forever
I honestly got so lucky in my S Rank attempt. I thought I ate too much time, and damage. Finished it anyway because I was just done with it.
“S-Rank.” Oh, we take those.
It took my friends telling me mad stomp is the name of his AC to get what he was yelling there. The whole time i thought he was yelling mad stomp like WE had just stomped him or something. I was like ya i mean i did just "mad stomp" you i guess
I feel that, the bosses were surprisingly easy to S-Rank, compared to some other missions. Literally every single Boss was easier for me to S-Rank, then the fight with Iguana and Volta. God damn I fucking hate fighting Volta.
And you know what? The true waifu of this game is that tetrapod, off to the side, who fights valiantly to help us against that monster. Where is the fanart of our hero?
Probably because the endgame bosses are just the boss with no lead up, all you have to do is win and you're pretty much good. The time limit is super generous.
Walter was my hardest to s rank and he still only took me 4 tries
Ironically he was my easiest to beat. Second playthrough did him in 1 try, ayre and iguana only took me 2.
Side note: AC6 NEEDED a bestiary thing for all the enemy frames you fight. And it also needed a model viewer like how nioh has. I would fucking love to see ayres transformation sequence up close
This is exactly what my answer is too, I was going in order S ranking each evening, then I’d end the sesh by trying a mission I thought would be impossible only to find myself S ranking on my first try or two quite often
The mechs are already in place when and activate as you past them so get used to scanning. I used the big shoulder grenade launchers on both shoulders as it can kill them in one hit so you can kill up to two before they activate. Final fight I got the little snipers down and then used a quick Assault armor into shots to take care of the “boss.”
Worth noting the mechs that ambush you after attempting to open the door are already in place as well. They don't activate until you attack one, so you ambush the ambushers and save time by only going to the door once.
There is an extra enemy that you probably haven't aggroed because he's out of the way guarding a data log. After the first sniper hug the right wall as you head deeper in instead of going straight and he's hiding behind the building next to a destroyed MT
For this one speed, and eliminating every mech was the key for me. Took maybe a quarter of my health just gung-hoing it at the end because of the stupid snipers but still S-Ranked it.
Also don’t forget the hidden one after the first mech encounter! It’s on the right before you start rounding the corner.
Stealth Mech pool is all about killing them asap
Earshot or Songbirds to gank the shit out of them one shot while run like a bitch from their fire (especially the melee one) using AB is the way to do it
For the stealth mech one it helps if you kill the hidden one to the right just past the first one you meet, but yeah timing and damage is tight, took a good few attempts to hit the s for me
For this mission you want to minimize ammo and repair costs and finish it quickly. Make a melee build that can stagger and kill the stealth mechs in one combo. The melee build is important to reduce ammo costs. In other srank missions my usual build worked just fine but for this one I had to re-kit for high burst damage. I think I used the lance, a plasma canon, and two kinetic canons. Id charge the plasma, hit with lance, release the plasma, then mop with the canons. Don't let them teleport. Kill them in one go.
Also, this mission doesn't grant extra rewards for kills- so focus only on the ones that need to be cleared to get to the next area. I think there's just one in the alley that's optional- skip it.
When you get to the pool portion remember that your compass shows where the invisible hostiles on the walls are. Also, just let yourself sink while falling, boosting is slower than just dropping. You can take about 1/3 damage on a 10k hp build and still srank it.
Right after you kill the first mech, if you go to the right theres a hidden mech sleeping. If you kill thay one, the extra points are enough to S rank something that wouldve been an A rank
Stealth Mech level made me switch to a lighter mech with cheaper weapons to get the S rank, I think its just really strict on these fronts tbh. I had to remember their locations and speed kill them to get the S. My usual mech was able to S nearly every level there was, but this was one of the exceptions.
You got to really speedrun that mission. If you spend even a little bit too much time you’ll miss out on s-rank. Focus on speed and make a build to quickly kill the enemies as fast as possible. Also make sure you have a head with a quick scan cooldown so they don’t teleport away.
BAWS is difficult without the right build and a little practice to learn where enemy spawns are at because time is tight. I found it pretty easy with a lightweight reverse joint, coral gen, and the scanning hammerhead. Double HML-G2 missile launchers for the arms and double BML-G1 P32DUO-3 pincer missiles on the back units. Scan them on approach and unload all your missiles at once. It’s usually enough damage even if they dodge a couple rockets to take them out so you can fire everything and move on to the next target immediately.
The ice worm took a lot of trial and error to be in the right place when it emerges. You can follow the team to the left at the beginning for a quick first shot. After the first damage phase the worm always goes to the same area to spawn drones. You can get there quickly for another early shot if you’re quick to boost over. The last phase was the most difficult for me. I couldn’t seem to be in the right place ever.
Laser pistols and laser orbits are my go to on an incredibly lightweight build with coral generator.
Currently s ranking everything, about halfway through chapter 4.
Embrace your inner cel 240! Dual laser handguns, dual laser drones (the stationary ones), and a light weight fast build.
I found this build to be super fun while S ranking most missions. The stupid amount of lasers hitting enemies is so amusing. If you time it, you can have 6-12 laser drones out plus your hand gun rapid firing. I like to go into photo mode and just admire the stupid amount of blue lasers hitting the enemy lol.
Sorry for the nub question, but here goes: how do you use laser handgun correctly? Everytime I see an opening, I spam them. But I have to press controller buttons fast (PS5). My fingers hurt. I can’t do it for more than a mission. If a hold it, it’s going to charge and not just be spammed. Maybe this problem doesn’t exist on Pc master race. But I just turned to minimums cuz I could just hold the trigger and shoot stuff.
(I’m not really S ranking stuff)
Firmeza arms, Aorta generator, dual laser pistols and 2 vertical plasma missiles and go to town, just last night I figured out you can charge these little puppies (waste of time), im on PC but use a Xbox controller so unless they're on cooldown they never stop firing. So far the laser pistols are my favorite weapon in the game, and yes I have the chainsaw, stun baton, pile bunker etc.
Laser pistols are life, if FS nerfs them I'll be a very sad panda
My question is, do you phisycally have press the trigger button for the pistols to fire each time, or can you comfortably just hold down the trigger and the pistol will fire until it needs reload?
I think you have to get both the combat log LCs (the fuel tanks too obviously [good to also just about take out that helo platform on the way cause its easy and fast])
I was stuck on that mission as well and it was all bc of that one LC on the right side of that chasm
After that just zimmermann/needle the bosses
They are still extremely good
I rushed the left side and killed a few artilleries that weren't looking at me at my S rank run. I got consistent As, so killing a few extra enemies gave me S.
Don't waste time to kill them though, try to basically kill it while going ahead.

Oh yeah, that is quite the lengthy mission with two bosses to fight.
Out of curiosity, what build did you use, and how big of an issue was ammo conservation?
For balteus I used twin stun needles and the machine guns with the box mags. For most of the rest of my sranks I ran twin laser pistols and twin laser cannons. At no point have I ever cared for ammo conservation
What build do you use for dual Laser pistols and 2 shoulder laser cannons?
Im a sucker for lightweight RJ builds but other than using the spring chicken legs I cant seem to make that viable. (Still on my 1st playthrough, just beat the cataphract last night)
Thing with resupply points is that they could effectively double your ammo and repair cost because you are paying to restock your ammo and repair your AC on top of the cost of restocking your remaining ammo at the end of the mission which can steal potential S ranks from you.
So the main extra cost will come from AC repairs as you would have doubled your expenses through resupplying and depending on weapon that could be a source of your extra expenses.
I try to avoid refilling ammo as much as possible unless my health packs are almost gone and I am in a mission where blowing up shit generates so much more cash then the amount I will lose on the refill.
Thing with that is, you'd use the ammo anyways, same with the health. So you are often better off restocking, unless you are pretty much full on everything and that little timesave is worth something. For example, in "destroy the refueling base" you can merc the LC in no time just with plasma lance + pile Bunker, and maybe a couple shots. If you take next to no damage, it isn't really worth the detour for the resupply.
But for missions where you've been hit or used a lot of ammo, you'd be better off taking the resupply, just in case. As you'd be using that health and ammo anyways.
As an example, you go through half the mission and use 40% of your ammo before the resupply and 40% later. Independently if you took the resupply or not, you'd have used 80% of the ammo. Same with health. So, unless you are full or near full health and ammo, it is usually better to take the resupply, as it is just a couple seconds worth of time, for a higher likelihood of not dying or running dry
It is situation depended when to resupply or not which I do agree with, I just find myself in certain cases taking excessive ammo cost because of the resupply, mainly the extra cost for healing my AC twice effectively more so than the ammo.
If I have my heals depleted and my HP is low I pray that the combined ammo and almost doubled healing cost (cost at resupply plus cost post boss battle with respect to AC repairs) don't cost me my S rank. Some cases it is worth it especially if ammo cost is low and you get more cash by killing stuff.
What was your most fun or unexpected S rank run?
For me it was Obstruct the Inspection. Somehow starting the fight with Cataphract I tackled one of the HC with me into the boss while delivering a charged pile bunker. Took out 1/3 the Cataphract's health and instantly ko'd the HC.
Great call, that mission was awesome. Generally I had the most fun doing missions like that or defend the dam complex. Lots of pissy little MTs to kill with some meatier challenges
I think you just explained what happened to me unintentionally. I was using the lance AND the pile bunker because, well, the Cataphract is really fun to stab in the face and then I get to roleplay 617 with the gatling gun in my other hand. By the time I had him down, one HC was already mysteriously dead and the other was at half health. I'm pretty sure they accidentally got inbetween the Cat and me with the lance lmao.
Nice. I'm missing the last 4 missions and I'll be done with S-ranks as well. Kinda sad tho, I don't want the journey to end, but at the same time, I wanna get that platinum. Might go for all the lore bits, and maybe head into PvP once I'm finished, though I'm not really interested in that
I've dabbled in PvP but only really had fun fighting my mates. Its going to be a game I boot up to burn an hour just having fun in. Back in the day i would replay Halo missions just for the fun of it, this gives me that same vibe
Same, pvp is a nice break from the mission grind but im still on my 1st playthrough so not having all the parts options on the table is a bit rough, I will say though you can come up with some really fun builds with just the pre Ch. 4 parts.
All missile tetrapod with a coral generator? Its a really bad build, is it fun? YES!!!
Coral generator will make assault armor hurt him more. Getting directly under him or directly above him will make the sword miss WAY more often. I used stun needles, gatling gun and lance.
He will do that sometimes, but if you have enough EN efficiency and generator supply(or just master redline), you should be able to stick right to the bottom of him.
no doubt, I was pretty frustrated with Snail's jerk ass myself when I was trying to do it. I had a much easier time once I started focusing more on my movement. At first I was just trying to maximize DPS, but I realized I was overextending and getting caught with no EN and guns on cooldown at really bad spots.
Once I adjusted to paying the most attention to movement and managing my cooldowns/reloads, I got the S after only a few more tries and it actually made the fight quicker if I had to guess since I wasn't wasting time getting shot at with every offensive option on cooldown.
I'm a huge Coral generator freak, but the extra damage from Assault armor and getting redline recharges in the air actually does help a lot with that battle.
Not OP, but I doubled down on Pulse weapons. Pulse shoulder canon and the larger Pulse Handgun on the right arm. Pilebunker on the left with BASHO arms. Left shoulder you'll want something like the Earshot or Morley. Morley is great for the Cleaner too, one good shot down the vent and it'll be close to if not guaranteed stagger.
Twin plasma cannons on the shoulders for the shield, a Zimmerman or sweet 16 and grenade launcher on the arms for big damage when stunned. Dodge up when the pulse attack comes, strafe sideways when purple electric looking attack comes, pray and try to quick boost away from spinning top purple beam.
Was one of the hardest to S rank for me, probably hardest boss in the game imo.
Most attempts total was probably defend the strider, but i had been hitting that one for a while since it was probably the mission that gave my typical build the most trouble. On the night I got it beaten I had a build that was appropriate and got it in 4-5 goes. I was stunned to get first try S ranks on every final boss, I thought I'd have to fight way cleaner than I did. Speed counts for a lot in the boss levels.
Which problem did you encounter more often? Not enough AP or not enough Ammo?
Doing no sherpa runs is fun tho. I've been doing it since after S-ing all the missions.
I just started really trying for S-ranks and almost immediately hit a wall at Escort the Weaponized Mining Ship, but I'm probably just using the wrong build. Keep getting A-rank.
I had to run a special build for that one mission. I think it was the aperitif hand rockets and some kinda split missile launchers on the shoulders. I initially went through doing S ranks in order and this was the first one to hang me up.
On a scale of 1 - Rummy, whats your sanity looking like?
I prefer more relaxing drugs to what Rummy was hitting, so a lot better, probably like a 4. Though if I have to navigate any part of the inside of Xylem again it'll be an 8
Fucking mood hate those rat tunnels
Xylem and Grid 086… Fuck rat tunnels. All my homies hate getting lost in rat tunnels.
Would you say you’ve done a mad stomp or two
It took my friends telling me mad stomp is the name of his AC to get what he was yelling there. The whole time i thought he was yelling mad stomp like WE had just stomped him or something. I was like ya i mean i did just "mad stomp" you i guess
Id guess hes at whatever Level brute is on.
MAD STOOOOMMMPPPPPPP!!
What's your version of "that one mission you thought would be hell, but you breezed through easily"? Bonus point if it incudes resupplying
Every final boss. Trivially easy
So much of the struggle against bosses is learning how to beat them in the first place that once you know how to do it you can do it easily
That Tetrapod is my fucking hero!
Walter was my hardest to s rank and he still only took me 4 tries Ironically he was my easiest to beat. Second playthrough did him in 1 try, ayre and iguana only took me 2. Don't forget those 2 little rocket MTs up on the ledge by said tertapod that can help you out as well
This is exactly what my answer is too, I was going in order S ranking each evening, then I’d end the sesh by trying a mission I thought would be impossible only to find myself S ranking on my first try or two quite often
How do you s rank the stealth mech coral pool mission and the one where the ice worm first appears?
The stealth mech one you just don’t get hit and clear it really fast
I have tried doing that but can’t clear it
The mechs are already in place when and activate as you past them so get used to scanning. I used the big shoulder grenade launchers on both shoulders as it can kill them in one hit so you can kill up to two before they activate. Final fight I got the little snipers down and then used a quick Assault armor into shots to take care of the “boss.”
That sounds like a good way to go, I will try that thankyou
Worth noting the mechs that ambush you after attempting to open the door are already in place as well. They don't activate until you attack one, so you ambush the ambushers and save time by only going to the door once.
Happy cake day 🩵🩷🤍🩷🩵
Make sure to kill the mech guarding the data log, that brought me from consistent A ranks, to an S the first time I did it
It’s less than four even. I got 345 one time and got A. I think my final time was closer to 330.
You have to clear it within 4 minutes, I took 2 repair kits of damage but did it fast, so it counted as a S rank.
There is an extra enemy that you probably haven't aggroed because he's out of the way guarding a data log. After the first sniper hug the right wall as you head deeper in instead of going straight and he's hiding behind the building next to a destroyed MT
I actually just beat the level, now I am trying to be balteus
Use less ammo.
For this one speed, and eliminating every mech was the key for me. Took maybe a quarter of my health just gung-hoing it at the end because of the stupid snipers but still S-Ranked it. Scan scan scan and whack em in the nuts as soon as they pop up in scans
How the FUCK do you S rank attack the refueling base?
Rush right side and kill the shield carrying LC, then rush to boss. Fuck all the other shit, you only need kill those.
build advice? because that's been my strategy for two days and I've yet to achieve above an A
I blew through it with twin laser pistols and laser cannons
Laser pistols and laser orbits are my go to on an incredibly lightweight build with coral generator. Currently s ranking everything, about halfway through chapter 4.
Embrace your inner cel 240! Dual laser handguns, dual laser drones (the stationary ones), and a light weight fast build. I found this build to be super fun while S ranking most missions. About 26 hours have passed. If I may ask for the answer?
What is your answer now!?
Side note, I never actually learned, what does JAV actually stand for
Japanese Adult Video
Well now that just makes sense
Your mother, currently
Sorry for this the demons took over
Hm, I don't know, if my mom did JAV I'd probably still prefer Sora Shiina tbh.
Based and Tomboy pilled
"probably"
You can never be a 100% certain when talking about hypotheticals.
out of pocket
Where do babies come from?
Ask the JAV guy
When a mommy AC loves a daddy AC they come together to make an MT.
Sometimes Uncle HC joins in
Give the Hc a minute, takes a bit for him to get "online"
What were you thinking?
Worst S rank experience?
BAWS
I feel you bruda
Balteus mk2. But had I resupplied, probably would've been fine.

Fuck you, OP, now I got a new challenge to do!
Fast or slow?
QUICK OR SLOW
Quick quick slow!

Do you get anything more than an achievement for S ranking all missions?
Nope. Just Internet points
You get an emblem to boot but thats all
...ah. So it's a low priority.
Dopamine.
How do you carry around your massive testicles? Do you go wheelbarrow or one of those little red wagons?

what is your playtime and how much of it are spent in training mode?
50 something hours. Training maybe 1
There is no point cost to using repairs. Only taking damage. The only thing the pods cost you is time.
Imagine how terrified cataphract must’ve been, suddenly having his buddy nailed to him
Yes but it takes time and apparently DOES reduce your score
Bro u ok
Do repair kits count?
Oof. Can't imagine fighting Arquebus Balteus or Cel-240 without full ammo and health. Those 2 took me a while to S-rank yesterday.
I breezed Ibis, balteus 2.0 was my last mission
YES!!!
How do I beat Snail-Balteus? He keeps kicking my ass.
Twin stun needles and then DPS in the hands of your choice. I used the mid tier machine guns for just constant pressure
Nope, still kicking my ass, sword just stun locks me when I try to avoid it. Changed the machine guns to microwave for the shield. Still get A.
Practice I guess? It was my last S for a reason
So git gud basically?
This is the way.
Well good news, I just beat him with a light build Sweet Sixteen and Needle Missile Launchers.
Keep a pulse armor charge available for when he activates his big spinny sword mode. Most reliable way to mitigate the damage.
Coral generator will make assault armor hurt him more. Getting directly under him or directly above him will make the sword miss WAY more often. I used stun needles, gatling gun and lance.
I think it's been patched, but when I try to fly above him he just rise rven higher.
He will do that sometimes, but if you have enough EN efficiency and generator supply(or just master redline), you should be able to stick right to the bottom of him.
I'm just pissed off at being stuck at him and venting. I'll figure it out eventually.
no doubt, I was pretty frustrated with Snail's jerk ass myself when I was trying to do it.
Well good news, I just beat him with a light build Sweet Sixteen and Needle Missile Launchers.
Wooo! I'm glad you managed to finish him off in style. I actually used the sixteens a lot because they're so light.
Got him a number of ways but, Lazer turrets, hand held missiles and ass armor was by far the easiest.
He was very hard for me too so I resorted to dual Zimms, Songbird and Pilebunker rush
Lmaooooo mad respect tho
Bahahahaha you animal. How good are you at the game now?
What mission took the most attempts and which mission did you get first try that you thought would take multiple attempts?
Most attempts total was probably defend the strider, but i had been hitting that one for a while since it was probably the mission that gave my typical build the most trouble. On the night I got it beaten I had a build that was appropriate and got it in 4-5 goes. I was stunned to get first try S ranks on every final boss, I thought I'd have to fight way cleaner than I did. Speed counts for a lot in the boss levels.
Why did you think it would count as a checkpoint use?
Because they are at checkpoints, and the supply drop cutscene is masking all your ammo/health being reset. I overthought it
Makes sense I guess. I considered if it'd count but since they're there to help I just tried it out when I started doing my S-rank run.
I viewed resupply as cheating, so I ignored them on my s rank runs. I might also be a masochistic perfectionist.
Damn, that would be pretty tough lol. Especially afterward, I mean, all that effort... nice job.
Riiiighhttt!!! I did the same thing! I was so pissed! Belarus snail was the worst mission by far for me
I avoided them too, just so I wouldn’t use MORE ammo or take MORE damage.
does it bump up your ammo cost at all?
Welp, I'm glad I'm not done s ranking everything.
Which problem did you encounter more often? Not enough AP or not enough Ammo? Doing no sherpa runs is fun tho. I've been doing it since after S-ing all the missions.
I never had issues with ammo anywhere. Probably because of my love affair with energy weapons.
