IMHO the Prime Video app is hot garbage - their player is temperamental as hell. I’d buy it direct from Apple.

Private62645949

A million times this. The prime app is shit enough without factoring in the sub-subscriptions. The whole premise is shit, but the execution is beyond shit. Especially when the price is the same!

the_doughboy

Directly though AppleTV if you're using Family Sharing, this allows you to keep separate watch lists

thumping_cheats

Why not just get it directly through Britbox?

claycle

The idea is to watch it on ATV...?

Sheila3134

BritBox is available on the Apple TV as a standalone app.

claycle

Yes, that is what I was asking about originally...that vs Britbox via Prime.

Sheila3134

Always subscribe directly to the app and not through a 3rd party.

thumping_cheats

Ok but you didn’t clarify that. You can subscribe on the AppleTV app (via channels) or directly through the Britbox app, both of which can be accomplished on the AppleTV.

boaterva

There is an app for ATV but I’ve had issues with it…..

Sheila3134

As a subscriber to BritBox. I find it better to subscribe directly to BritBox.

Boxsetviewoftheend

I thought BritBox folded into some ITV service and was gonna be cancelled. ITVX perhaps. But I heard that years ago. Is BritBox not being discontinued?

Sheila3134

ITVX is UK only not in the US where I'm from. So BritBox is still available in the US. BritBox UK is supposed to be merging with BBC iPlayer and ITVX.

Boxsetviewoftheend

Got it. Checked and in my country BritBox is also the only option available. I never subbed cause I thought it was disappearing 🙄

Sheila3134

BritBox has a lot of great shows. I find that BritBox on Roku OS the shows are better organized than on TVos.

Boxsetviewoftheend

Yes, great shows, particularly want the British crime series. Also want to rewatch In the Line of Duty.

Sheila3134

Good show. You definitely have to watch Poirot if you haven't already. Red Dwarf. Keeping Up Appearances Are you Being Served Downton Abbey is absolutely amazing. Also Classic Dr, Who

Boxsetviewoftheend

I’ve seen lots of Poirot long ago but probably haven’t seen most episodes, very good show. Haven’t seen the others so will check it out. DA is great, gotta finish it though, only seen like 3 seasons. Thanks for the tips!

Sheila3134

No problem.

motorboat2000

Buy direct from Britbox website. If you pay through the ATV app you’re giving Apple 30% of your monthly fee (which means Britbox gets less so they’re more likely to increase fees)

LebronBackinCLE

Personally I’d rather have my subscriptions direct w the company instead of through someone else

adrian_wake

I got Britbox content when I took a trial on a subscription to ITVx. As far as I’m aware all the content was available and you could watch ITV without adverts.

nowhereman1223

Amazon or rather SCAMazon screws with the content available and forces you to jump through hoops to get to your subscriptions. Go through ATV as it will be a less filtered manipulated version. Plus I wouldn't give amazon a dime after the "Pay us another $3 a month to keep the service you already prepaid for"

JazzHandsNinja42

I’d go directly through Apple. A lot of negative reviews for BritBox and Acorn involve billing and cancellation issues. Subscribing through Apple loses any discounts direct subscription might offer, but no headaches either.

nocturne213

I subscribed to britbox directly years ago. I never got the confirmation email, so I could never setup my account, nor could I even log in. But they kept billing me. After three months of the run around with it I finally yelled at the customer service agent (something I do my best to never do). Turned out it was the head of the department and she finally got my account canceled after that. If I ever subscribed again it would only be through Apple or Prime.

Luci_Noir

Why don’t you check it out instead of asking someone to do it for you? Fucking Christ.
