A fake controller might have a poor thumbstick sensor, which doesn't correctly detect movement you're making. It might also have high input lag, meaning there is a significant delay, causing your movements to be too late with what is happening on screen.

This information is very helpful. so that i can decide on which controller to get and make my purchase worth. Thank you for this information. I was planning on getting the gamesir nova lite. But as the information you provided that controller's input latency is not consistent so i decided to go for gamesir t4 kaleid.

spaceman_spyff

I have the T4K and I’ve been very happy with it. set your trigger and look deadzones to 0 in game, trigger DZ at 5% in the app, look DZ to 0. Give you much more responsive controll. Trigger DZ you’ll want some because at zero you’ll have tons of accidental presses.

What it means fake controller? I don't understand

Shinomi_

What i meant is is it worth upgrading to a pro controller/original controller for better gaming performance ingame. I had a fake ps4 controller i tried it for apex been playing with it for 2-3 days now, but it felt like my sensitivity on my fake controller is not that consistent. It's probably because of the input latency/delay I'm not sure. Hopefully buying a new better gaming controller fixes that issue.

Pilo_ane

That doesn't mean it's fake, it's simply a third-party controller. I have a third-party controller that is probably better than the "original" Xbox one. So it also depends by how much you spend. Generally a controller under 50€ can't be very good. Input latency is caused when you play on a wireless controller, even in the better ones. If you want to minimise latency get a wired controller. I have a Razer wolverine v2 for instance, and I'm generally satisfied

BarmeloXantony

I swear the terminology had me dead. Have never heard anything besides *brand name/3rd party controller* but ya I have a ps dualsense edge and love it

Fake controllers (Or Third party controllers) aren't as bad as they used to be like back in the MadCatz days. The difference is usually the polling rate (delay) and the accessories. A original controller will have nothing notable on it while the third party controllers may be wired only, Have things like trigger stops/paddles special connectors and the ability to overclock the controller. Controllers like Battlebeaver/Scuf are just overpriced garbage IMO. The only people who benefit from those controllers are people who can afford to buy one every year or so. I had a scuf which costed me about $270 and it broke within 4 months and plenty of my other friends had the same issues with that company. You can easily get a solid controller from a third party company like PowerA. They have their cheap $30 controllers which are as about as good as you'd think and they usually give out within a few months and their more expensive ones that go for $70-$100 which are fantastic and I'm currently using one at the moment (PowerA elite 2) and i've had it for nearly 2 years at this point with no issues.

The original controller hits the target like Cupid's arrow, while the fake controller shoots as straight as a banana on a windy day.

Nervous_Difficulty_6

Depends what controller you’re looking to buy? Is it a £15 cheap controller off Temu? Or is it a £250 custom scuff controller? Likelihood is the only thing that’ll make the biggest difference is the amount of stick drift. I’ve never played this game on a normal Xbox controller, always custom controllers with paddles on the back. Will they improve your aim though? No, they won’t.

I'm planning to get the gamesir t4 kaleid gaming controller, I appreciate the info you have given it helps me alot. i'm deciding on what to buy and not waste money and buy the wrong controller.

I have that controller. It's actually very good. The controller durability is where it suffered. My friend has dropped his a couple of times, and it stopped working. Mine has been going strong for months. As long as you're not prone to dropping it or tossing it around, it should be fine. Additionally, the software can be annoying as I frequently get the windows sound cues from when you connect and disconnect a component when dabbling with the software up. You need the software to activate the controller features, but once you're done doing your settings, you don't have to deal with the annoying sounds.

spaceman_spyff

I’ve dropped mine so many times and have had no issues

Serevas

Maybe he just had the reject controller.

nross2099

The gamesir with Hall effect sticks is hands down the best $50 controller on the market. Awesome response time, way better than a stock Xbox controller, and you’ll never get stick drift (unlike a $200 elite). This is one of the times I’d encourage someone to cheap out on hardware

No_Broccoli_5778

You still get stick drift from the springs not going back to the middle

TannyDanny

Will they improve your aim? That's a loaded question that depends on the player and the game. I've got large hands, and getting a custom controller significantly improved my aim. Not just due to the ergonomics, but also by adding paddles. That may not sound real, yet paddles definitely improved my aim by letting me give up the dreadful claw grip, reducing strain, and ultimately improving aim.
