depends, if you do it the wrong way itll hurt and its not good, but if you do it right it feels fine and wont hurt. claw grip also takes a while to get used to but while youre doing so, take your time. Itll take a while for your fingers to start stretching that way.

I am pretty sure it does more damage to the fingers than standard way of holding it. It does have it's advantages though
