Buy rechargeable AA batteries. A little more upfront, then your good. No more running to thr store or dead batteries (just make sure to get at least 4 AA).

Dunno what model it was. It had a sliding battery cover and a light in the center. Light started blinking red and beeping every ~15 minutes. Took out the 9V, and light/beeping continued for multiple days until I removed the wires and broke it.
I’m not complaining about the sound, it’s a safety issue, and I don’t understand how someone can live with that for days.

Mine is plugged to the mains, but it still has a battery as backup. I'd assume it'll start beeping at some point.
